Steven, some time back I got a "hot" copy of WP Unique, I think it was part of a training program I bought... and got refunded when it didn't deliver.

When I figured out it wasn't a freebie but I liked what I saw, I went looking and found this thread. I confess I only got through the first page of raves before I made my purchase.

Unfortunately, the plugin seems to be giving me error 500's. Strangely, this is happening only on the home page and not the post pages.

I sure hope you'll be able to help me keep this excellent tool.

In any case, if you're getting 500 Errors, give me a username and password for your blog, and I'll take a look.

For the record, 500 means "PHP script error"...so I'm sure it's something simple to fix.

OK - seeing the above posts about protecting the word "affiliate" has begun to make me suspect that I've had the wrong idea about something.

I thought that you didn't have to protect single words, just phrases of two words or more.

Did I misunderstand that all this time?

Now this may sound like I am not satisfied with your program--AU CONTRAIRE - this is NOT the case, its a KILLER and I'll be promoting where I can. That's a fact!!

So to my concern:

1.) There are many spinners on the market and the majority of them just spew out a lot of unusable junk and in most cases it's faster to write the article yourself than to correct them.

You mentioned that every WPunique customer receives a unique list of synonyms, so no 2 lists are ever the same. That sounds pretty cool until.........

....I spun my articles with wpunique but quite honestly, I trully would have won the first prize in a contest for the "best Junk Article ever spun" with a blue ribbon on top.

No matter what articles I posted only Junk is returned.

I spun them at 15, 20, 25, 30, 50% and from 4 letters to 6 letters.

I normaly use an excellent spinner (configurable to my needs) that doesn't spew out junk, so it isn't any problem to spin your lists according to my "favorite substitutes" or needs, I can achieve that in a matter of seconds.

Having said that, if I had been delivered a different list, then it might have spun good articles...is that correct or am I missing something?

2.) I don't know if this has already been addressed in the thread(simply don't have much free time to read it all unfortunately):

It would be a great idea to spin your lists as I mentioned above and be able to rotate them within WPunique, let's say 20-50 sysnonym lists in a dropdown with imported titles and rotate them as required within the single posts, Pages and/or Globally.

What do think?

p.s lookin forward to the next updates OH, I know Warriors are gonna hat me for this but PLEEEEASE put the price UP, it's way too cheap!!

I'll let you in on a secret...

Most folks who use auto-spinners *don't* expect actual humans to read their articles.

The point is to pump out content which kinda, sorta makes enough sense to the search engines to get ranked.

You're absolutely correct, and I've never seen an auto-spinner which has true semantic awareness.

As you point out, it'd cost a whole heap more than $27 to get a spinner which understands the nuances of language!

Having said that, I generally use 10% (minimum 5 character), and it changes my stuff just enough to be different, yet unique.

Yes, I tweak the synonym files for words which don't make sense, but hey-ho. It takes 5 minutes.

As for your other point...that sounds like a great idea Please PM me with more info.

No, you didn't misunderstand at all.

The point of the protected keywords is to protect entire phrases (or rather, protect single words within entire phrases)

Example:

You want to protect the phrase "Dog Training Video"

Well...it's possible that any or all of those *individual* words are in the WPUnique dictionary...so if you don't use the protected keyword function, you might end up uniquifying those words...or even spinning them into something like:

Canine Exercise Film

...i.e. *not* the keyword you're trying to rank for.

So the protected keyword function will check for any instance of the phrase "Dog Training Video"... and ignore it. It won't attempt to uniquify or spin it.

Make sense?

tigerwar thanks for posting code to css in Socrates template. But I have Thesis template and have to little understanding to know where to put this code. So I can still not use WPunique great linking, because the linked word can appear 20-30 times on a page so it looks like a spam site.

Actually that wasn't correct, what I showed changed the complete post/page including titles instead of only the content. I'm not an expert but I believe it's pretty simple. I did change mine accordingly and it works nicely so I'll post it when the sun rises

(before you read this I want to say two things. I don't know much at all about online marketing, so if I mention a few things in hear and you are rolling your eyes because I have said or quoted something wrong then I am sorry).

Mate I just want to say that this was the best money I have ever spent. For the first time I am speechless I am without speech. On a serious note. My keyword is for a product being launched in a few weeks and I brought your product a week ago on the 28th June actually a week ago today. I followed the directions in the video. I just want to say this plug-in is the easiest that I have come across to use. Now back to what I was saying the keyword on Google that I was using had 37,500,000 results. I thought it was going to be a lost cause. Before I started I had to see what I was ranked. I dint show up until the 30th page for my keyword. Others before me didn't even use the full keyword phrase (Like I said before I don't know much about internet marketing so there might be a reason for this). I am proud to say that I am now ranked page one number one as of today for that keyword. I followed every thing that was said in the video. I rewrote a few articles and Ideas that I got from competing sites. Not illegal, I just got the idea and rewrote it using the spin tool provided in the plug in. I will keep you posted on what comes of this. I have never made anything from anything on the net. I have followed other tools through to the end but I always end up spending more than I invested. But I am already seeing the potential in this tool. I am from Australia and we stand by our Mates in this country and I am proud to call you a MATE. If this changes my life you will be hearing more from me. Once the launch takes of I will post back to let you know. Keep an eye on for the second week in August.

cryptone24, you do not have to turn on the spinning tool if you have unique content. If you need to spin with higher quality you can use The Best Spinner before posting.

Even if you have unique content, you can use that on one site and then set up 5 more sites with WPunique with the same content and the spinner enabled, they will all be different. For any use you choose.

For a large site you can link 1000 words as no follow to affiliate programs automatically with this plug in, it is simply wonderful. It is just that if you link a product name or a word and the word is 30 times on the page, you will get 30 links on that page and visitor think he is on a spam site and will leave and not click.

I'm back down to earth again, what a night

If you open your page as a viewer would see it (not within the admin) just right click on the page and click on the "view source".
look for the part where your text begins and note down the "class name" [code]<div class=" ">[/code].
Now go inside your WP Appearance-->editor-->stylesheet and find that class, (probably "entry") and add two lines underneath it In my case the div name was "entry" so I added the BLUE lines below (obviously you can change the appearance as you wish)....et Voila the links don't look spammy and the effect will be on every "Page", do the same for "Posts":

Hope that wasn't too complicated and if you can't find the div name in the stylesheet, simply add those blue lines anywhere in the style.css.

EDIT: btw the main div in my case .im-mainContent may be different e.g main, content or maincontent

I had a look at a few Thesis sites today and found a fairly commonly used div name
so you could edit the "site.css" file and enter e.g

it's really trial and error, the easiest way is to use firefox and as I explained above simply search for the Div which wraps your text, then scroll to the top of that source page and click on the "css words or links" and search for that div again. Then you'll know which css file to edit

Its hard to say without seeing your site but I hope this helps you Partyman

seems that Steve is away on holiday at the moment, maybe I can help(I'm sure you'd rather speak to Steve) but I have a bit of free time today.

If you go to Settings-->wpunique you'll see the global settings at the top of the page. Set the "Keywords to Cash Links" to yes.
Now go to your Page--> or post-->edit and scroll to the bottom of the page, set the "Keywords To Cash Links?" to "no".
This page or post will now be ignored.

or the other way round, set the global to "No" and the page/post to "yes"

You can actually have a lot of links on your site and obviously you are right if it looks spammy, but you can do a couple of things to avoid that spammy look.

One thing is to do is what we have been discussing lately and the other is to mix the affiliate liinks with "humorous links" so that people see that you are not trying to force a sale.
EXAMPLE:
impact οn a hungry market
unlock thе hidden treasures within the offer

This in fact, according to my tracker, actually entices people to click on almost all of your links
much better without underlining though and now throw in an affiliate link etc...Studies show that if you try to sell something, you will lose in the long run but if you communicate they will buy and come back and buy more!

The best example of this procedure is Steve Fullman=Quality Service

1) The plugin ads some type of hex code to make it unique, wouldn;t the search engines be able to reverse that to text and figure out it is still duplicate content?

2) if the text has hex code, then my content will not rank well because all the SE sees is hex code mixed with words from my duplicated content, how can this help my money site?

3) do I only use this to make the splogs unique content to survive and be just a source of backlinks to my money site?

The term "Private Label" means that the item can be labeled with your own details, removing all references to the original creator. That is all it means.

For example, private label baked beans can sold by a local supermarket as their own brand - with a label saying "Bob's Supermarket Beans" - even though the tin was actually produced by someone else.

On the Internet, very few private label offers allow you to give the item away

That would be an "Unrestricted Private Label" license, where there are no terms at all

Well Steven I bought your plug in a couple of days ago and read the complete pdf text and have installed it on a site where I am already #7 on page #1 on Google for my keyword that has 494,000 competing results.

I'm averaging 20 uniques per day. If I can move up a couple of spots I will be happy. If I can get to number one.....I will be ecstatic.

The site is only a few months old.....I will be building a new site tonight to start the process from scratch and see if I can get to #1 quicker......My goal for each site to make $5/day and build 100 of them in six months and quit my day job in 12 months!

I'm loving the plug in already.....

Wish me success.....its all planned out....so don't need any luck!

Your WP-Unique is great so far. But just wondering if you ever fooled around with any auto content stuff like Caffeinated Content or Unique Content Fetcher. Seems like it might go good with WP-Unique.

But some say that the Auto Content generators might leave a footprint that Google might end up de indexing for. Any input on these Auto content fetchers by any chance.

I wrote 1 article using my chosen keyword to get the ball rolling!

I use StatCounter.com for tracking my visitors. I noticed as I write this I have 29 unique visitors today with several hours to go.

I don't waste a lot of time trying to perfect things....I just do a bunch of things and let Google find it and then tweak it. Google visits this site everyday so it will be interesting to see what happens when the content looks more unique.

What can I do if I am pulling content from more than one source? For instance, PLR articles, articles from other sites, and content from RSS feeds? All the content I am talking about is also going to be scheduled to post with autoblogging software that I'm using.

How can I set each type of content to a different "type" of posting (uniqueing, spinning, etc)?

Yes if the TOS of the Article source allows it, uniquifie only the blogs pointing to your main blog. Your main blog should have a few self written article and a few either uniquely spun-only(not uniquified) or originals articles(find articles without affilate linking). Uniquifying doesn't change the content, it only changes the source code.

This only visually changes the link to make it not so spammy to the reader

There are ways of "White-Hat" changing/cloaking links thru php redirect scripts or even better thru the .htaccess file(this is more risky if you don't know what you are doing and MUST be done correctly regarding the "nofollow links" and google slaps, google hates affiliate links)
Php cloaking is the most used and there are many programs out there that save you quite a bit of time and many throw in a Linktracker/exit pop-ups/cookie/viral bars in the programs

I personally use this one: "ALB" but there are many more just search the engines for php cloaker and tracker.

It is a must to use a serverside redirect because if a word inside the WPU created link is linkable, the whole link code will shop up on the page.
It is easy in .httpaccess. xxx.mysite.com/bss will redirect as told in .httpaccess:
Redirect /bss hxxp://record.affiliatelounge.com/_As6MU5HmfKawVhdeTu4fZWNd7ZgqdRLk/1

It is not enough to just hide the spammy look, what must be done is to have settings:

How many time is this link allowed per post.
How many links are totally allowed in a post.

Else can it not be used on a money site. Example: a post about a disease might include 5 words that convert to links and 3 medications. A post with 500 words will have 100 words linking out.

I think google will de index such a site.
