Steve, I can't answer your pm yet but it seems that the latest version is the one that I was able to download. Saw the version number when I uploaded it to my site. You just need to change the version number written in your download page.

I noticed something though... I uploaded wpunique to a new site wherein I have 3 original articles published already (indexed and cached). I uploaded around 5 plr articles and activated wpunique on those plr articles only. Did some bookmarking and now my plr articles have been indexed, but not cached. Is that something I should be concerned about? My pages have been indexed in a matter of hours. Maybe it is too early to expect them to be cached?

I have an autoblog that already has around 1,000 posts on it. In your video examples you show wp-unique making a current post 'unique' but is there a way, using the plugin to make all your posts, previous and upcoming, unique without having to go through each one individually?

I just bought this and it appears that there is a word count limit. I spent tow hours trying to figure out why it was deleting my posts...

Apparently when you get up over 3,300 words, it deletes the entire post..

For some reason this plugin isn't scrambling wpZonBuilder. My guess is the way it works with text as wpzonbuilder uses this code to grab content from Amazon [amzn_product_post]

Is there a solution for this?

Yeah, there is a very simple way to force the plugin to affect all past posts: use the Force Global Settings button on the plugin's settings page! Easy peasy! :-)

I'm not Steve, the creator of this plugin, but logic tells me that this is not a problem. The plugin uses ASCII code to replace letters... the language those letters are strung together in does not matter... so, shouldbe no problem!

Your logic wasn't far off track but.....

....first of all "Most search engines do not consider extremely common words in order to speed up search results or to save disk space. These filtered words are known as "Stop Words". "

These words are in the dictionary.txt file and part of WPUnique(each seperated by a comma).
WPUnique compares the Post/Page content with the Dictionary.txt and uniquifies those words within the commas(not just random letters).
So it "won't" uniquify foreign languages directly unless those words in the dictionary.txt file are part of that language within your Post or Page.
Certain english words are spelt exactly the same as a foreign word but have a completely different meaning and could be of "great importance", so you wouldn't want them to be ignored.

Having said that, one would have to know which words in a different language, are the "stop words" and whether Steve has included all HTML Entities in his script.
E.g
in the German language, aside from a,o,u, you also have ä,ö,ü.

I suppose a good way to try this out would be to copy the complete dictionary.txt file "as it is"(including commas) and run it through a translator like "google translator" or "BabelFish".
Then replace the original dictionary.txt file(make a backup first) with the translated file and make one or two duplicate posts to see how they compare with the other sites.

The problem here, is whether or not google does actually ignore those words in a different language. If not, then you might cause them to ignore important keywords(if they were part of your keywords). This is why one would have to try this on website that doesn't carry any weight.

If it works then the english dictionary.txt would simply have to be translated into any language and be replaced(but only if all HTML entities are accounted for within the wpunique script).

Sounds interesting allthough amzn_product_post is a completely separate function.
It 's probably because wpzonbuilder has a separate loop (a stand alone product)and is executing after wpunique.
It'll be good to see what Steve says on this one

Wait, I think that fixed it. It seems it's the ALL-IN-SEO description that's not scrambling. Is there a way to scramble the ALL IN ONE description. It's all automated via wpZonBuilder... so I don't personally add the text in there.

Google sets the rules and we try to abide within reason. The thing with google penalties, is that they apply when breaking the rules but WPUnique DOESN'T break any rules.
Google see's black hat technology as a means of deception but as WPUnique doesn't change the Content, there is no deception and no black hat technology used,.

So why would google punish this technique?
Will they change there regulations in the future regarding this?
How long is a piece of string?

This applies to 99.999% of Autoblogging systems...If you rewrite an authors text to 50% uniqueness, is that deception or stealing, YES.

Will google penalize you for doing this..NO because their algorithms don't/can't detect it.
Will they be able to in the future? WHO KNOWS?

Like I said WPUnique changes NOTHING of the original content when uniquifying, so why should it be penalized?

Yes of course!

But it's on a blog-by-blog basis...not a generic fix.

Here's why...

Wordpress plugin developers have the ability to set the execution priority of their code.

Most (including me) use the default setting...which hands the problem over to the Wordpress engine to figure out.

Sometimes, though, one plugin is reliant on another finishing...and that's what's happening here.

Okay, I just purchased and downloaded. Looks like a very useful plugin. Quick question: does this require PHP5? Reason I ask is I have a couple of older websites hosted in a server with only PHP4 running and the hosting would require me to migrate to another server if I want to upgrade to PHP5. I've found that some plugins require PHP5 in order to work. If WPUnique does need PHP5, that's okay. I'll just use it with my other blogs hosted in newer servers.

Yes, I'm afraid I can only support PHP 5 installations.

That's not to say it won't work, but I'm guessing your PHP 4 installations are running a fairly old version of Wordpress? ...and WPUnique will not work on versions of WP prior to v2.8.

Looks like a good piece of kit, I just have a couple of questions that I would like to find out the answers to, please.

Does this plugin use the same ascii code on all blogs, or does it populate random code? - If it is the same code, is it possible to configure to vary the code output?

Also, with the cash links, does it replace links in articles that are already in existence in the posts, or is there a will to block it from replacing existing links (the links are for many different URLs and so would not be possible to block just one domain, it would take me the rest of the year to manually update software on what not to replace). I guess what I am asking is, can it leave existing links/anchor text/urls alone, if there is 3,000 different urls already on the blog?

No, it doesn't populate random code, it takes the exact words as in the dictionary.txt file and uniquifies those words in the posts with a set code-

E.G:

A would be "& #913;" and Ä would be "& #196;"

so if it replaced randomly, you would get a whole lot of junk(the "actual"
content would be changed).

href HTML codes(links) are not uniquified, only actual words that are in the dictionary.txt file between the commas and in the posts,

so:

a href="http://isabellonabicycleoronthesaddle.clingaling" would not be changed but the same normal text

"is a bell on a bicycle or on the saddle . cling a ling" in blue(if in the dictionary.txt file) would be changed.

If you want to protect certain keywords from being changed when spinning and/or uniquifying, then enter these in the protectedkeywords.txt file, words like affiliate or marketing. (it really only takes minutes to do)

I doubt though, that your actual linked keywords will be in the dictionary.txt but if you are spinning then you may (more than likely) need to protect certain keywords.
As everyone gets a unique, individual synonyms file, it's impossible to say what word you have in there.

Tip:
If you want to see exactly what links and linked texts are on your complete blog then GO HERE don't forget to enter www.

Now copy the table results(just before the "#" INSIDE the table, top-left corner) and paste them to excel, take the link text row and copy to the protectedkeywords.txt file, save and upload it via wpunique interface.

I have speed read through this thread too (28 pages - still took ages) and am in little doubt this is a very effective and really useful plugin.

Someone did mention a problem with images not showing correctly because of the conversion through to html. I did not see a response and just wondered whether this is an issue or not as I use images quite a bit in my posts.

I don't see any problem with images but I also haven't actually seen that post you mentioned before. The image links are never changed, converted or touched in any way, so I believe the problem that the other person experienced, wasn't wpunique related.

I don't know of anyone else having such problems
