I am very interested in buying this plugin, but I have a couple of questions.
After reading this thread and some other forums I found that google could ban your site for using this plugin. I even read that google can make a distinction between typed words and ascii code and can thus tell your site is 'fake'. Is this true?

So the way to use this plugin is to have an authority site and one or more feeder sites. You install the plugin on the feeder sites and if google takes one down, your authority site is still ok. Is this correct?
(also, if you have multiple domains on one hosting account, do all domains get banned after google decides to ban one of them?)

Or is it ok to use this (wisely) for your authority blog?

I did a search for any mention of getting banned for using WP-Unique. I didn't find any, altho that does not mean they do not exist.

Could you please point me in the direction of your source for this?

The reason I ask this is because I think what you heard was simply the same old regurgitated warnings about Google and duplicate content and "gaming" the system.


Yes, you will get banned for gaming the system.

But WP-Unique does not game the system. It simply delivers content to Google in a language Google can read. Why should Google care what language you deliver your site in? Does Google ban you for writing your posts or pages in German? Or French? Why should Google care about ASCII?

That being said, what I take from your post is that you have read that Google DOES take issue with ASCII. If that's true, then please show me where that is being said, because I couldn't find it.

In point of fact, I was one of the early buyers of this plugin. I put it on every site where I use other people's materials. My oldest site, Article Writing News has had it from the beginning, going on a year now, and Google has never bothered it or any of my other sites over this.

Thank you for your reply. I tried to get those links for you where they say wpunique can get you banned. But then I noticed they where talking about wp uniquefier, not wp unique :rolleyes:. My bad!

3. WPRobot = Put your keywords on exact to get your niche articles and then put your keywords to SEOPressor list too

I don't actually know if changing anything in the articles would change your rankings, but...
there's a bigger issue here in what you are suggesting.

The TOS of most article sources indicate that you must leave the article intact, including the author's links. Changing their words (even the unlinked ones), technically, is a no-no.

About the only legit thing you could do, imo, would be to write a very short intro paragraph--one that focuses on your keywords while introducing the article, which you would leave intact. Perhaps a closing paragraph might be okay, too.

The only articles you are really free to change are PLR articles and your own. That's why Steven developed this plugin--to give Google what it wants (unique content) and still make use of free articles from the directories.

the code is changed.. If so, it suggest "BigG" Bing&Yahoo would see something
different than what the Users or Visitor See? Does this conform with G TOS?

I'm having a major problem with slow loading times for the blog 15 secs or more for some pages, when I deactivate WP unique it speeds up again. I have it set to Truly Unique all posts but it's equally slow with 'standard'.

Any known problems with other plugins?

Hi Oldjohnboy,

all wpunique does is convert the source code from ascii text to legitimate html codes.

Some characters in normal html code already get converted like this - for example "smart quotes". WP-unique just converts a lot more text!..

so this is neither black nor grey hat, it's simply enhancing on what google already does. There are many languages that have different letters and require the content code to be entered into the META TAGS such as

[meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/] for the english alphabet

or

[meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/xhtml; charset=ISO-8859-1" /] for the west european alphabet.

Basically the html Entity code that wpunique uses, is what google does anyway, when they see which metatag content type to use.

If anything, it is saving time and is hence beneficial to the search engines because the necessity of having to translate from "ascii text" to "html" is already done.

Black or Grey hat is only when you try to deceive the search engines by hiding content from them that would actually be seen by the viewer.

WPUnique shows the Search engines EXACTLY what the viewer sees, only in "the already used"; html code.

1. Anything you change to your own words is always benefical to your site, as the context become unique by doing so. This will gain importance and hence better rankings.

2. As long as your text is site/keyword related...that's fine. If your site is about monkeys, don't try to sell cars...that' bad..big time

Just to enhance on CJ's good advice, the uniquifier only makes the content unique in the eyes of the search engines and NOT in the eyes of the viewer. So if I(the Auhtor of an article) see that you copied my text and removed all of my links(my income potential) then I could and probably would, report this to google as your uniquified (not synonymed)"copy" might be ranking better than mine, hence depriving me of potential income...get it?
If you only uniquify, so you don't actually change the viewable/visible content..then I strongly suggest leaving all the original links in the content, but you can of course, add your own!

3. A Developer's License is used mainly when fliping(selling) domains. This means that you can sell the program, in this case wpunique together with the domain. If you don't have it you will have to remove wpunique before transfering the site's licensed plugins to the new owner.

Steven, I have wpunique and I just bought wp zonbuilder (awesome amazon plugin) hoping the wpunique would uniquefy all the amazon decriptions but although it's all enabled and I have it working on other blogs it's not working with wp zonbuilder.. any ideas?

I do use WP Super cache and I don't have any problems with it(anymore!), this is why I was stunned for an answere. When I initially activated it, I also had problems and did some changes(THIS is BAD, SORRY..but I don't know any more what I changed), all I know is that the problem was with WP Super Cache Settings.

The only thing I can suggest is that I PM Anaconda an image of my settings, may be that might help?

Well, not exactly, but close enough that you earn a thumbs up!

There's a feature of WPUnique called Keyword2URL (if I had known this thread would become so popular, I might've spent a few extra minutes dreaming up a sexier name, but hey ho).

Keyword2URL will replace any un-linked keywords/phrases of your choice with hyperlinks -- presumably affiliate hyperlinks!

A cliched example might be:

ORIGINAL TEXT:

TEXT AFTER THE KEYWORD2URL:

As you can see, the anchor text remains the same as the non-anchored text in the original. You've simply linked it to another site.

No SERPs issues with that!

And the Keyword2URL doo-dah is just a smidgen of the overall functionality, as you can imagine.

This looks a great product. Before I buy, I have a quick question. Is it possible to enable WP-unique to auto-spin, but not convert to ASCII?

I ask since the auto-spinner looks really powerful, and whilst I appreciate that the conversion to ASCII won't bring about any penalties from the SEs, I still wouldn't want to chance it (especially since the auto-spinner delivers truly unique content in itself)?

Of course! You can enable any of the functions of WPUnique individually, and independently of each other.

You can do this either "globally" or on a post-by-post basis.

I use it on ONE of my main blogs and many autoblogs.
I'm not having any problems whatsoever, in fact my posts are shooting to the top.

How long will that keep going..How long is a piece of string?

At the moment wpunique doesn't have problems with the search engine..Why?
because it simply does what they do anyway.

Whether they change their attitude to this.....
I don't think anybody can answere that to 100%.

Guys I just had to write a review in here for Steve as a business owner.

I bought Wordpress Unique a while back and have been using it quite successfully for a while.. Then I bought a plugin for creating content and this caused a conflict and Wordpress Unique wasn't working any more.

Steve went to my blog had a look and made a suggestion to alter something in the WU files..

This worked but only partially. He then went and practically re-wrote his plugin to make sure it worked properly in conjunction with this other plugin.

In my view the problem was caused by the other plugin but Steve didn't care about that he wanted his customer to be happy and spent time (even on a weekend!) making sure I was .

Buy this plugin. It's great, it works and Steve will make sure it does for you too.

I always try to treat my customers right and it's a real pleasure to find someone who obviously thinks the same way.

AND it Sure beats writing loads of unique content..

1) That hat has more to do with ethics rather than wpunique.

Basically you can put anything on your site and use whatever program you want touse.

1a) Don't forget...the uniquifier doesn't change the actual/visual content, only the spinner does that.

I heard precisely the same metaphor today (car without an engine) from Stephen Fry discussing poetry.

Backlinks are essential...well, mostly. I can't say I chase them myself, but then I don't chase overcrowded niches...backlinks tend to find me, I'm afraid to say.

And naturally, I don't endorse any kind of "follow the herd" backlink packages, although I understand Angela provides a useful and incredibly valuable service to her subscribers. Apart from which, Angela is a great person and a canny marketer.

Hello Steven,
I've had WP Unique plugged into a couple of sites for awhile now. I built a new one yesterday, hooked it up and re-discovered something I hadn't paid much attention to. The old Keyword to Cash setting. Now that's neat! Now the but... I assume it takes more than one word? I made 28 entries on separate lines. It's all in there, on the admin, and the keyword file is there, and the switch is flipped to YES up top, but the words aren't working on the site. I know it works with one line, kez I tried that first with your example and my word. Can you help me out here with what I have done wrong?
