interesting thread. i assumed - but never tried to verify - that the resulting output is what counts for the se, not the source. fantastic possibilities in there, if that is the case. and it even might be logical with all this dynamic and ajaxy stuff going on.

but just an idea about footprints:
what are the chances, that an author masks a letter, he *does not need* to mask?

i understand, that this masking used to be used to mask email adresses against the most basic harvesters, but beside that and special characters? ever masked a regular 'a' or harmless 'Hello World'?

wouldn't it be easy for the se to detect, that there are lots of letters masked without any need? and as that is pretty unusual: that the webmaster is trying to hide something?

nevertheless, the reviews are amazing. think, i shall try it on a site and see what happens.

That is the whole point of wpunique,

It does not hide anything at all from the SEs or the viewer, it simply uses the "stop words" that google use anyway and puts those words into the computer language (html entity)that SEs use to spider your post. The SEs read EXACTLY what is on your website...and google love it

I just checked your site Simon,

Everything is working 100%, it is uniquifying all post and on the home page.

Don't misunderstand, it only uniquifies certain words, the so called "STOP WORDS" that are in the "dictionary text file

in FireFox the HTML Entity is colored orange, words like: the, and, for, have etc...

I have been running this for a long time on different websites and I'm at no.1 on google with quite a few of those posts that have been uniquified for a few highly competitive keywords and I haven't experienced any problems yet. On the contrary, my monthly adsense revenue has increased.

It appears not to be switched on.

Go to admin menu-->settings -->wpunique -->and set the posts to "yes" and then SAVE

or if you want all posts to be the same make the settings and then go to the one below those settings -->"force global settings" and SAVE

tip:

Btw...if I saw a site like that, I would leave it straight away,- it is never good to have too many links in the text and puts people off reading further.

too keep the links but make it less obtrusive, see my post #1093

Hey guys, I just had a question for those of you who have been using WPunique for a while now..

Are you finding that if you set up WPRobot or some other autoblog plugin or even just post PLR articles constantly to your blog, that the incoming volume of "unique" content alone is enough to rank your blog?

Or are you building links to all of the articles/videos that are posted or just linking to the home page mostly??

Tested this myself, as I had the same question. My personal experience: you have to build the links and do the SEO. I have used WPRobot (content) and this Unique Plug-in on a site for nearly 10 months now, i've typed in all the keywords I was originally targeting (with content), and it's not doing a thing for the SERPs. Frankly, a little surprised at these results ...

Hmm.. I must say that doesn't inspire a boatload of confidence as I was planning on doing that exact same thing .. Wprobot + Wpunique I mean..

One would think that after 10 months of incoming "unique" content that would be enough to rank just about any blog..

But seeing as I've already bought Wpunique, I've already boarded the ship and am sailing on the sea!.. So I guess I'll have to see for myself :]

In my experience, WPRobot + WPUnique is a killer combo. I never have any trouble ranking for the (tiny little micro)-niches I aim for.

As ever, if you're trying to rank for a keyword such as "weight loss", you'll probably struggle. Me? I wouldn't even bother.

But, if you target phrases such as "lose belly fat riding an exercise bike"...(or similar, you get my drift), then you'll find it easy-peasy.

Just so I understand better, does the plugin spin the content by making changes to the "stop words"? So, it appears some content as my source, but new to Google? I must be missing something here. Kindly advice.

The content itself is not changed in anyway.

Google has a list of so-called "stop words" (words that are ignored) E.g - have,and,the,make,had etc..etc..

These words are changed to "HTML Entity Code" on the SOURCE code of the page ONLY, not what the viewer actually sees.

Basically, instead of google having to read those words, wpunique does the work for them.

Simplified EXAMPLE of your text:

The Brown Fox Jumped Over The Lazy Dog and had puppies

Google would read:

Brown Fox Jumped Over Lazy Dog puppies. (this is now unique)



You can find a list of the stop words in the dictionary text file or at this address

I finally bought the plugin a few months ago and think its great! Just one thing though, if I have existing keyword backlinks in random posts, the plugin seems to overwrite these keywords with a new backlink if I select that particular word for the global keyword2urltext.

Is there any way that I can prevent the plugin from overwriting these already existing backlinks (which occur in adhoc individual posts), if I then add the same keyword for the rest of the blog? I want to use the global (site wide) settings to do this.

Is there any way that I can prevent the keywords to cash links from overwriting any already existing backlinks (which I have occurring adhoc in random posts and the keywords also vary in each individual post). So rather than using the protected keywords which would eliminate the keyword throughout my blog, which I don't want. I can see that it says web addresses are already protected, but how can I protect already existing backlinks in my blog from being overwritten, if they happen to contain the same keyword that I wish to change to cashlinks in other posts, just avoiding the existing keyword backlink in my posts?

Thanks for getting back to me, and glad you understand :-) Basically the random keyword backlinks are ongoing so a date wouldn't really help, and they do vary in words, so I don't want to negative keyword them, as it would narrow my options significantly in order to protect 1 post out of all the others.

Not sure if there is any way to protect and show as a negative keyword the generic <a href code, within the plugin or similar, so it just protects all existing keyword backlinks no matter what the words are?
