I`ve been trying to reach him through his support email. Hopefully this will reach him.

I thought it was pretty straight forward, but Copyscape still finds the spun versions when I`ve set the global mode to:

Uniquify Mode: Truly Unique
Uniquify All Posts: Yes
Uniquify All Comments: Yes
Auto-Spin All Content: Yes


Why doesn`t it work with the above settings in place?

Did anyone notice a few days ago that when you moused over the Settings link at the top of your WP Admin and all your different plugins appeared in the vertical list that it said something like "Get New WP Unique" where it normally just says "WP Unique"? And then when you clicked on the link to get the new version of WP Unique you went to an error page that said the user had exceeded all of their bandwidth? I never was able to get the new version and the "Get New WP Unique" link is no longer there.

I don't have a definitive answer for you since I am not the programmer. I'm not sure what's happened to Steven, either. He may have been on holiday or something.

In any case, my first thought was that the spinner was not doing enough spinning to make a completely rewritten copy. I don't use spinners of any kind, so I've never even tried the wpunique spinner. But my guess is that you may need to add more synomyms and phrases to the synonyms_core.txt file.

Beyond that, I do not know... sorry.

Version 2.7.0 is the latest. Check to see if that's what you have. If not, send me a PM and I'll forward to you the update email Steven sent out months ago when this version came out.

I don't think I can do this for anyone else, since I have no access to who has paid and who hasn't, so I'll apologize to everyone else up front.

I'm sure Steven is around, it may just take him a little time to get back with you right now. But keep trying. I know him to be a good guy, so, please give him a chance... and then even a second one. :-)

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am still running 2.7.0 but like I said a while ago (above this somewhere) there was a weird thing that lasted for a couple days in my WP Admin that said it was time to update WP Unique and when I clicked over to the link/page to update it, there was an error message on that page saying that the user had exceeded their bandwidth or something like that. Anyway, I have tried contacting him from his website, from here, and I have PM'ed here and still he is ignoring them. Do you know Steve? If so, when was the last time you were in contact with him? Just asking because maybe something horrible happened to him and thats why he's not responding?

Just bought wpunique last week. Had to leave and just got back. Needed to see the set up so I went back to the site only to find out that it has been suspended.

I must admit I am a bit leary about activating this plug in as I don't want my website banned by Google....

Also, I just cannot get any reply from "Steve"

I'll be honest, something must be up with Steve. I've written to his personal emails (which I usually get a response from) but have not heard from him in over a week...

However, I will say that the plugin works fine and should not cause you any problems, Google-wise. I've still got the plugin active on over 30 sites and have had no problems...

I just hope Steve is okay!

I've recently updated a site with this plugin and not had any Google problems or bannings.

I don't know how that idea got started... this plugin does not improve rankings... it keeps you from getting sandboxed.

Take a representative sample of your article (a sentence or two), place it in quotes and take it to Google. What you should find is that the original posting (the oldest version Google knows about this content) will be there, maybe one or two other versions AND YOURS. Everyone else's version will be sandboxed.

I've never had improved rankings with this plugin, just prevention of being penalized for dupe content. Improved rankings come from good SEO and backlinking, etc.

Ah, yes, so it does... my bad. But it never gave anyone the ability to reach a #1 ranking. Occasionally, the article would outperform the original (as when you take a snippet of the content, in quotes, as i explained earlier), but that is as much "ranking" as any of MY articles ever got. Maybe that's how I should have put it. The articles are not sandboxed as other dupe content is, because Google sees them as unique. Therefore, they DO get ranked. They simply don't seem to rank above the original.

Look at it this way... where would your dupe content article be IF you had not used WPunique? If not sandboxed, it would be WAAAYYY down in rankings, right? With WPunique, it makes it to better rankings... just usually not above the original--

AND YES, as in the videos, occasionally they do outperform the original. But that is an exception, not the rule.

The thing is, it is good KEYWORD research and SEO, backlinking, etc., that is going to get you top rankings... this plugin is only meant to keep your duplicate content from being sandboxed.

Without WPunique, your article is nowhere. With it, you are at least in the game and not sandbboxed...

The title says, "easily ranking" but that is not a promise of reaching the top of the SEPRs. The example he gives does show a higher ranking. Remember, tho, it's only for a snippet of content, placed in quotes... not for the whole article.

So, the question, "are people still getting good rankings" does not apply to this plugin. It was never designed to do that. My articles gain good rankings when I alter them, give them better keywords and optimization, etc. I use a syndication service for some of my content and i know some of that content is published elsewhere. Since I cannot alter any of that content, I use WPunique to keep them indexed... not to improve rankings.

Yes. my answer is yes! In fact, I said so just a few posts back... (#1630)...lol.

i have about 30 sites using wpunique and I've had no problems, i still do that "snippet search" and find my content.

Sure, example:

Articles already exist with URLs hyperlinked in them and are ongoing - I want to protect these urls and not overwrite them with wpunique. However there may also be keywords contained in these articles that I can use wpunique on, if they are not already hyperlinked.

Is there some way that I can do this?

Hi,

I am on the verge of getting but gave a few questions for anyone with experience or knowledge of the plugin. I have 25 blogs that are identical but only vary with the city I am targeting. Everything about them is the same. Some of them are ranking pretty well(page 2,3 with one or two on page 1)and some are obviously lower. I do the Seo, backlinking etc. and do not expect this plugin to do anything other than prevent any sandboxing/cold shoulder etc... From google. The content is all original except that I am using on all of these sites-in other words it is nit scraped from someone else's site-I have the articles written and then ad them to my sites changing out the city name.

1. Will the plugin change the code for all articles/posts already on the sites or only for new content added?

2. Will it make the source code different for all posts on all the sites or will the "changed" source code be the same on all the sites because they are all the same articles being changed? Hope that makes sense.

3. Will any of my sites be penalized for adding this because there are so many of them? Many if the examples on here show people taking content from one site and then that site going down in rankings...I don't want this to happen obviously.

Again, all I want to do is prevent any sandboxing or penalization of my sites-not improve their ranking as a direct result of this plugin.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated,

Hi eric,

If I understand this correctly, you're using identical articles on different sites and within the same server? I 'm suprised google hasn't de-indexed your sites already - That's like placing a red hot poker up googles delicate orifice. Your content in this case(on every OTHER or ODD blog) should be at least 50% uniquely spun, then consider using WPU. The fact that it's original content doesn't mean you can duplicate this on your websites - That is keyword stuffing and will simply result in google taking one site only(the one they believe to be most relevant) and dropping the others. It can also result in de-indexing the duplicate blogs due to spaming the index, especially when interlinking the sites on the same IP.

WPU will only change the provided html of the content but if these are identical, then it's not uniquifying anything!

If you and I use an Identical article on our blogs, you use WPU, that's fine, your content will be unique to mine and the original. But if I use WPU too, then the articles will still be same(also the html source code).

There is no point in uniquifying an original article and that article (as is) can only be uniquified ONCE.
If you spin that article, then uniquify only one of each spun version.

so you have four blogs a,b,c and d:

a) original (not uniquified)
b) one copy version of the original(uniquified)
c) A spun version of the original(NOT uniquified)
d) A uniquified version of the spun version.

Easily done by using "uniquify this post" on every other blog

You will have to enter the keywords you want to protect into the protected keywords file (exact match, not part words). Of course, if they collide, there's no way of doing this other than changing your own anchor texts

Content Encoder does the exact same thing that WP-Unique does... EXCEPT that I believe WP-Unique uniquifies MORE than just the stop words.

HOWEVER, wp-unique does MUCH MORE than just uniquify the content.

Wp-Unique has a built-in spinner that YOU control by entering only the words YOU want to be spun. Having a spinner is useless if you cannot control what words get spun or not. You can use this feature or not.

WP-unique has a keywords-to-cashlinks feature, where you can choose any keyword and wherever it appears thruout your site, it will become a link to whatever you want it to link to. This is useful to create internal links, as well as links to affiliate product pages, etc.

WP-unique has a protected keywords feature, where none of your specified keywords will be uniquified. This keeps the SEO value of your keywords intact.

With WP-Unique, you have the option to go forward uniquifying all new posts, or you can choose to uniquify retroactively ALL post on a site, no matter when they were posted.

Considering they are the same price, I think you get more value with WP-Unique. IMO. :-D

Oh and as for updates, that would be for Steven to answer, sorry, I dunno about that!
