Lares,

Just start building links slow and steady. Also, diversify meaning articles, web 2.0, social bookmarking etc.

The key is to go slow and I said many times in this thread and in my course that it will take around 3-4 months to get real good rankings. That's just the facts.

Everyone that's making great money and full time incomes from this course built their back links slowly over time to make it look natural to Google. This works well.

Once the sites are o page one for a while it does not take a lot to keep it there. I build a small amount of links to my sites every week or two and they keep their number one positions great.

There is something called the Google dance and it happens to all sites when you first start to rank. You will see that sometimes your site will dissapear for a few days and then come back stronger.

This is normal and is supposed to happen but people get freaked out when it does because of lack of experience.

Cheers

AMEN JAN

I do ALL my site strictly according to Jan's methods and they are ALL on page one!

I did ONE site trying many different methods as a test site and if you find it, PLEASE tell me where it is...lol

I just waited it out. All the sites eventually went to number one spot it just took longer. I still built back links but at a much slower pace.

Lares

another option is to build those EDU backlinks - about 20. Get "trust rank".

Go for quality not quantity.

The kick in the ass for me was I submitted one lousy article to EzArticleLinks a month ago and per their "slow" recommended distribution rate and I now have 300 spun articles out there on their network. I also submitted same on ABC network which is supposedly "slow drip feed" but when I check my Google webmaster it says I have 1600 backlinks already!!! How'd that happen?! Heck I didn't even get around to submitting the other three or four articles I had written, didn't yet get around to doing social bookmarking, didn't submit to any RSS aggs, didn't yet get around to my usual web20 and article dir subs with SEOLinkRobot...I was taking my sweet azz time...go figure!

Either way Jan's course and this "system" is still the bomb and I highly recommend it. It's Google that is the pain. Just gotta be careful when backlinking to these puppies. The G is watching.

I am building more sites and being pickier about what I choose to promote. Making sure what I pick converts and is being searched for by at least one product name before anything else.

Will probably only get .com addresses and build EDU links first, then REALLY slowly build the balance of backlinks thereafter until the site gets past the "The Big G Human review date" then step it up after that only. These review sites rank just fine quickly right out of the gate without any backlinks. EDU backlinks are safe to build at anytime, but as always not too many too quickly. Don't want to look manufactured.

Hi JY

Although you are sharing your "short,Quickies" with us, I find that you continually deviiate from Jan's tutorials, you mention so often things that you try and at the same time, nothing works.

How about staying with his tutorials and telling us about success

Hmmmmmmmm.....no offense

that's just how it appears. You can't explain everything in written word. I just figured out what went wrong. And its not that I am deviating from Jan's course at all - just haven't fully implemented it all before the rug got pulled out from underneath me (that one article submission unexpectedly got ahead of my other diversified BL'ing efforts). I now have a fulltime job - unfortunately - and that is why it wasn't all done in sync

One learns from mistakes - that's why I am sharing them too

However I can just not share anything and keep it all to myself since it takes less of my personal time to do so and I am not getting paid for it.

There are two sides to every coin.

Thank you for the swift answer TW, I appreciate it.

Also you mentioned a site of your going down the rankings in the past and you were to able to bring it back to page 1.

Can I ask you how you managed to do that? Did you keep your backlinking like before or did you stop?

Thank you so much again,

This course was very helpful. The one thing I didn't understand in the course was the link building. Do you build links yourself or do you use the service jan recommends?

I've never tried the Amazon Affiliate program because I've mostly heard that digital owns physical products. Isn't CB more profitable than Amazon ?

I purchased this WSO back when it first came out and have been very glad I did.

It's an excellent course and very well laid out, especially for Amazon newbies (which I was at the time). I now have a few sites that do quite well and after I finish my current project I'm pretty sure I will get back into building more.

Great WSO Jan...many thanks!

Also...sent you a PM Jan.

Robert

Hi newimguy

I do everything according to Jan's tutorials with a small addition to his methods;

when I post my articles to the article directories - I use AMR right form the begining and send 2-5 articles out to about 300 directories (each)- each article has 2 links in the resource box, one to the home page and one to a REVIEW post and the articles are not spun, they are identical to the posts on my blog (not a review article)- but they are always posted on my website FIRST and INDEXED.

That is important, because google sees that I am the originator which gives my site more authority.

I never thought about that. To post same articles that are on my site also to other article directories. Does google index them if those are all duplicate content? And you mentioned in earlier post you spin some articles to 50%. So you do both?

For anyone on the fence.

You need to get this 100%. I took Micheal's Amazon course back in December and of course I learnt tons from it. And I thought I knew it all on Amazon, well of course I knew most of it but Jan covers everything in such a detail. You can just feel it he put a lot of work into this WSO. If you don't take this course now you will regret.

And no I'm not an affiliate lol.

And no I'm not a fan of exaggerating. I do post negative reviews on bad WSOs but this one deserves 10stars out of 5 seriously. You don't just learn Amazon, but you learn everything you need to know for your IM career, of course I knew most of it already, but yeah there are some new gold infos to learn too.

Just wanted to thank Jan for putting up such an amazing course and all the work he has done.

Thanks Jan.

For those wondering if they should get this or not...

I said I purchased this when it first came out and am extremely happy I did but I didn’t really leave any details about my success with it.

So far I've used Jans system to build 7 sites, 4 that would call "winners". Of the remaining 3 I flipped 1 and recouped my initial investment for all 7 and I'm just now starting to pay a bit more attention to the other 2 as far as backlinking is concerned. I have no doubt that given a little bit of time those 2 will join my winners. I am averaging about 5% conversions which could be a little better if I tweaked and tested my reviews more.

I have no doubt that if you follow Jans advice that you could seriously make a full time income with this approach. Jan takes you by the hand with clear instructions and breaks down the entire process so that anyone (even newbies) can follow this course.

In my opinion there is no better course for Amazon Affiliate Marketing than Jans!

Hi Lares

Before I go into 100s of details here, I would suggest you grab this amazing WSO before it is taken down, it is a great compliment to Jan's product and I doubt this will ever come back as WSO, at least not in this form or price.

It explains some of the methods I use and much much more

ALSO....keep an eye on this thread because Jan is bringing out an SEO WSO in the very near future

TW is quite correct - grab the WSO he mentions above before it goes - only $9 and it is amazing!

I only have 1 site set-up so far and it's sitting near the bottom of page 2 on Google. All my work so far has been on-page optimisation. I need to get it up on to page 1 and as I know next to nothing about back-linking, the WSO mentioned has been a god-send!

Cheers, Mark

p.s. I really must read this whole thread again! I've only dipped into it and it looks like a few people, especially TW, have been helping others out with lots of good info; a big thank you to those who've contributed!

Hi Shenna,

When backlinking to your site too quickly, this will be seen as spaming and the way to get around this is to backlink to your backlinks which boosts their power. The easy way to do this is by using RSS but with lots of URLs, the system has to be automated.

Example:
you post 3 articles to 300 article directories which each have 2 backlinks in the resource box to your site, E.g one to the homepage and one to a review post.

Now that's fine but many of these either take a long time to get indexed or they simply don't and 50% of your work was in vain.

a powerful backlinking strategy is not only to link to your site directly through external links but to turn those backlink URLs, not RSSfeeds (in this case the article directory URLs) into an RSS feed which you then enter into feedburner.com and then put that RSS feed into pingler.com.

pingler.com then pings(to get them indexed) those RSSfeeds which now contain all of your article directories, every 3 days, hence ensuring that the backlinks are indexed.

This doesn't just have to be article directories, the backlinks can be anything, blog comments, high PR backlinks, web 2.0 such as blogger.com or wordpress and social sites.

I use AMR for publishing to article directories and this in turn spits out a list of the "live links" (approved articles) which can then be copied and pasted into a feed.

There are free and paid possibilities to convert URLS to feeds(mostly monthly payments) but I find the best is a ONE time payment software here in the WF as a WSO for $6.

Most free ones are restricted in their possibilities or you have to include a backlink to them etc..etc...

I prefere to use this software as you can also spin the titles etc.. and hence have more variation in your keywords.

Basically this is all you need so there is no need to pay for things like SENuke at I think around $147 per month

All the above mentioned are IDEAL to include in Jan's review methods and really speed the indexing up

Hope that gives you a little more insight

P.S
2 possibilities (one coming later)

Take your time to go through them and pick the one that suites your needs, They are all excellent and thanks to the WF in 99% very cheap, I think BL1 could have been made a little cheaper, but it is still great:

1. BL1
2. BL2

Yes u can of course but don't get it if u only have one or 2 sites. It works best if you have many sites that needs promotion as it automates a lot of the tasks.

Thanks Jan.

I need an advise I have a Niche here which gets daily 862 searches.

Please see below the pic from market samurai SEO competition for it. Is this a nice niche to go in?

Thanks I'm a bit confused with this one.

I think that really depends who those high backlinks belong to. If they are things like article directories, web 2.0 sites etc... then you might would have a chance to get on page 1, but #1 could be a fight.

You should also check thru the related products (LSI keywords) too. Enter the Seed keyword at wonder wheel and run those words thru MS, in most cases, if you can rank for those easily you should have a good chance for the seed keyword.

Thanks for that. I checked now the first three for their PR Backlinks. And Actually all their Backlinks are from PR0 web pages. Another thing from all ten first google pages for this niche. No one has the keyword in their domain, most of them are as subdomain etc...

aaaah...just got back from the circus with the wife and son

well even though PR0, (reckon about 10,000 low to 1 High PR) so the mass in some cases does count and a sub-domain is seen as an independant domain, or did you mean pages/urls?

This simply proves that it is not absolutely necessary to have the name in the domain name in order to rank for it (it does give niche sites a bonus, especially when the site is new), if the keyword research and density/SEO is done correctly, you can call your domain anything and still rank for the seed keywords and the same applies if the site was not optimized; the name wouldn't be any help.

It is on the other hand adviseable to get a related domain name as the game is all about indexing and obviously it is easier to see the relevance as a viewer and for a SE.

I can see that a few sites are not SEOptimized so you might have a chance to get on page one but I asume this is an article which you can buy on every corner, like E.g games, which means that there are probably millions of competiton and the big boys are simply ranking due to the enormous backlinks.

I would suggest you really take a further look into the related keywords before taking the plunge.
If you end up on page 2, you might just as well be on page 1000

One question though to Jan

The sites you are making he most of your Amazon income - Do you have alot more than just 7 posts on them? I mean are they now seen as authority sites?

Regards

I think you can definitely get to page one because it seems like all the page one rankings are for sub pages of websites and not the home page.

Those pages also has little back links coming to them but they are ranking due to the authority of the main domains.

This tells me that you will be able to beat them but it will take while and some effort but definitely doable.

Very interesting opinion Jan, maybe I'll adjust my way of thinking

But I still wouldn't go for it personally (at least not as one of my first sites), there is too much work involved as I see it(money) for the backlinks but it would be also interesting to know the strength of those smaller backlinks at no. 3 and 4.

If they are HIGH and strong (which the image suggests), it will be very hard and being #7-10 on page one wouldn't achieve the desired monetization.

I attatched an image as I see it.

EDIT: and they all but one have DMOZ authority but I would buy the domain for later

Cheers

Thanks Jan for the encouragement!! I guess if you do or buy the right Backlinking than you should be able to go to page 1 on Google!!! It may take a bit of time. But I guess it's not so difficult.

First of all I must say I don't change anything on Jan's System!

but I think everyone has their own interpretation of how to use MS.

I'm the type of person that likes to see "quick figures" and 2 months ago I started assigning points to the SEO data which works perfectly for me...(below is an image)

I assign/replace:
RED "Y" 3 points
Orange "Y" 2 points
ignore the GREEN "Y".

I the add up the points from left to right - from "BLP to HEAD" inclusive and then take the totals of those:

totals upto 100 are "easy " keywords
totals between 100 and 120 are "good" keywords
totals between 120 and 140 are "doable" keywords

anything over 140 points "forget it" keywords

The image you gave us yesterday totaled 129 points "doable" keywords

the image you gave today totals 100 points "good" keywords

Using this method (and Jan's system)4 sites are #1 and 2 sites are #3 on google in only 2 months! All were put up within the same week

Maybe I was just lucky but none of my keywords went over 97 points and the lowest was 88

Below is an example with my system of your image from yesterday, (129, doable keywords):

thought it "might" be interesting to share

TW, bought and read that WSO from Craig Mako and now use many of the F R E E SocialBMing sites he recommends. They are awesome btw - thanks for the reference.

One new thing I learned from one of those site's tutorials is that contrary to popular (misunderstood)opinion you should NOT (NOT!) make your outlinks "rel=no follow". I tend to agree and never understood why you really needed to make them no follow as I was always under the impression (from past training) that the only ones "losing link juice" by way of diminshed effect were the targets of the outbound link, not the page on which the outbound link resides (i.e. source page).

Which still makes perfect sense to me - the more outbound links on a page the more the "juice" is SHARED amongst those outbound links which dilutes and thus diminishes each one's effect to the target but does not reduce (i.e. harm) the SOURCE page's power or cause it to "lose juice".

They also said that it is a big newbie mistake to make their outbound links no follow and that Google catches this pattern and it can become a red flag.

FWIW to those on this thread. Don't do anything you don't have to do...

Yeah it's not hard at all to do SEO but it is a game of patience that's for sure.

It's also VERY important to remember that SEO is not the only way to get traffic and make sales. As a marketer the number one skill you can learn is to learn how to drive lots of traffic to your sites from multiple sources.

Checkout this video I made regarding this...

I bought Paul Forcey's Indexing Tool WP plugin. AWESOME

It comes with a free bonus plugin that converts your pingbacks (backlink urls) stored in your WP "Comments" table into an RSS feed called "trackbackfeed" ==> yoursite.com/trackbackfeed. (The feed is used by the Indexing Tool to display backlink URLS on your website so they are seen and get crawled and hopefully indexed). It is awesome b/c once you have that RSS feed you are only limited to where you can ADDITIONALLY pump it into by your imagination.

Guess what?

You can easily create an Excel tracking spreadsheet, load it up with the rest of your "known/discovered backlink locations" (URLs), import those links into the SQL "comments" table using PHPAdmin and whammo those links now join your pingback links and they'll all now show in your RSS "trackback feed". Submit the trackback feed to RSS aggs, ping it, take it out on a date, make coffee for it - go nuts! :p

The added beauty of this is that all your backlinking URLs are SAFELY stored in your WP SQL backend database - so you know where they are! Not scattered about your hard drive in files doing you no good.

my two cents here . one 'can' go after it but it is a long termer. You will have to be patient as all hell :p Sure go after it but ALSO go after easier ones at the same time so you see results much earlier or you will give up.

Also I do not like more than two entries in the top 10 that have a monopoly of Yes's for the columns YAH --> Head. And not to mention all those EDU links you'll have to build to join the boys.
