Hi there,

Can someone please help me here. I just can't find an answer to this.

I am using the guitar wordpress review theme but I don't want to use the featured gallery theme plugin. My problem is that I don't know how to get rid of the coding on the review theme underneath the heading, where the featured gallery would normally be.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this coding so my first review would sit directly under the header?

Any help would be hugely appreciated as this is driving me mad

Thanks in advance.

Beth

Just delete it in the editor menu. Watch the video than you will get the clue on where to delete it.

Hi Eduard,

Thanks for your reply. I watched both Jan's videos and Colleen's but still can't see where to delete it.

I'm a bit unsure of deleting random stuff as I may get in a worse mess than I am already. Just to clarify, do you mean the editor menu in the appearance section of wordpress? I looked in there but not sure which files to delete.

Sorry to ask again but could you be a bit more specific about where to delete?

Thanks

Beth

Hey Jan/guys, what do you think about this.

I have a product I want to sell, and there's an EMD .com available for

KEYWORDconsumerreports.com

The keyword has very good searches, around 12,000 per month, and the EMD gets 1300 it's self.

I mentioned this on another thread, and someone pointed out I should be careful, as "consumer reports" is a trademark!

Does this really matter, I mean, what's next, "buy" "purchase" "bargain" will they become trademarks?

I looked it up, and it is, in fact a trademark, it's a magazine... surely my site wouldn't be infringing the trademark... it has nothing to do with it...

Should I just get the domain name and run with it?

Yes its better to stay out of it, and more over even if there is no trademark issue, its tough to out rank it, because consumer reports site will show up in your search results and it has a PR 7 domain

The competition is extremly low. There is a site, consumerreports.org, serp 6, and only has 1 product, with little info.

This site has nothing to do with the trademarked "consumer reports"

The more I think about it, the more I think this is being over cautious... I mean, take the magazine "hello" does that mean if you have a url with hello in it, you're infringing on their trademark?

Hi thedog

If there is a registered Trademark, then your playing with fire.

These guys paid and registered a name for a reason, it has less to with the fact that you could be any competition for them, rarther that your site could at some time breach the rules of the market and drag their "reputation" thru the dirt. Even if you do NOTHING, they are able to and have every right to throw a lawsuite at you.

Now I don't know you personally or your financial capabilities but I could imagine who might have the longer arm if it came to a dispute.

That can go into 100s of thousand$ or you might be lucky and they simply tell you to remove the site.

Whatever, all of your efforts will have been in vain....is it really worth the trouble?

Hey TW, well, you really know your stuff... so, I guess it's better to not url it... I can target it as a sub domain I guess.

Yes you can target it as subdomain but you still have to carefull that your not giving people the impression that you are in anyway associated with them. That is reason enough to file a suite.

If you don't know anything about the rules and regs of Trademarks, then I'ld seriously consider asking at the appropriate places before getting scolded.

EDIT: Also, don't forget that a subdomain is classed as separate domain, which means that you would have to double the backlinking or general SEO compared to a single domain with a folder/consumer reports. A sub domain does not get better rankings than a folder, it's simply double the work!

Thanks for your reply but I tried that and it doesn't get rid of the code (I've tried everything)

Anyway, I've just decided to keep the featured gallery, so all's well really.

I also want to add my thoughts on the course and that I have found the course very helpful and enjoyable.

I'm no newbie but (as you can tell) I'm not the best at wordpress so those tips alone were worth it for me. Although, the actual marketing side of ithe course is nothing I haven't heard before, it's nice to have everything laid out from start to finish and a method that works (I know it does as I have been doing something similar but not as structured) so all in all, very good.

For those who want to do this by the book, you should be prepared to pay for other tools mentioned in this thread (I ended up going for Market Samurai in the end) but they are tools you can use for all your marketing from now on so as long as you are not on too a tight budget, it's a good investment.

Everything else has been said, so I just wanted to echo the positive reviews and even though my site is not even well ranked yet, I know that the course is sound and will work. I have to say though, my guess is that those getting the course now will find they have to do a bit more work to rank their sites rather than just SEO alone or even SEO with a few links, it's going to take a bit more than that. Lots of niches (Amazon anyway)are becoming well marketed and although not necessarily saturated, suffice to say it is getting a bit harder for most products.

Tht's all I have to say on the matter :p

Beth

I'm just doing some keyword research, looking for the best url for one of my sites. I have all the articles written, going to get working on the site soon.

I went to get the url, which is a long tail keyword, so thought it would be free... it's gone, fair enough.

I went to the site and it's a "JAN" site! Cant believe it... The sites up since Jan, so there's no foul play with my article writers...

They're not ranking for the main keyword, which has 8k exact searches a month... with low competition. They are in the top 10 for the other keywords, but the searches and competition is very low...

Hmm.. I wonder if I'm going to start bumping into more... When's this wso closing again?

I have already bumped into many of Jan's sites, and as he has said before itself, not all sites work.

I Have noticed one thing, when you choose products choose products that have a buying power emotionally ( i am sorry that i cant give any xamples) these type of products tend to get buyers even though they dont buy(most of the time) your product they will buy something else from amazon and you will benefit it

To those of you who are discouraged and about to give up let me share my story. I bought Jan's product in Sep last year. Immediately applied whatever I learned from him to my six months old site. I had to completely restructure my site.

Following the restructuring my ranking in the SERP dropped and I loss whatever sales I was doing ($100 -200 per month). I felt very discouraged at first, but I persevered. I continued to build links and posted new articles. In 3 months time it came back stronger. Now the sales look good. See the last three months sales attached.

Although Jan do not do tech products (I do not know if it is still true, that is what he said in the videos) mine is a technology site. Electronic products sell very well but they tend to change very fast making your post obsolete soon. I am now thinking of starting another new site. I like to build authority sites. My first site has about 300 posts and will continue to work on it to maintain the sales.

Affiliate marketing works and it is a tough job. You have to work very hard. The key is testing and testing and testing and more testing. You need to be laser focused. Above all you need patience. Often your hard work will show no immediate results, but you got think like a farmer. Plant your seeds and it will grow!

Hi Thedog,

Just a tip; it really IS NOT necessary to have "best" or "Reviews" in the domain name.....I don't care what other say here (with all respect) I am proof of this.

I have many amazon sites ranking at no.1 and in the top ten without using those words in the domain name but I do use them in the reviews as Jan suggests. All of the sites rank for BEST..., Best...REVIEWS, ...REVIEWS and for the main product keyword.

Thinking or trying to get domains with "best or Reviews" in the name can reduce your possibilities. As long as your well optimized CONTENT revolves around those words and the main keywords are in the domain name you can get to the top for all words in a matter of weeks.

The point is, don't feel forced to use those words in your names or you'll reduce your capabilities! You can also use only "best" or "reviews"

Your aim is to have a 4% keyword density on the homepage ( about 2 'targeted' keywords per excerpt) and around 2-2.5% on your posts. You can check the density with the free firefox add-on "Seaquake". Also, start your excerpts AND posts with "BEST...REVIEWS". If you can build your posts with 2% Targeted keywords + 2% LSI keywords, google will reward you for that (obviously, the content must be enjoyable to read and not just product names, many LSI keywords are VERBS which can be easily used).

You can find many LSI keywords using this FREE wonderwheel scraper

To ensure getting the optimized keyword density (WHICH is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT), don't underestimate the necessity, this SEOptimizer is a great tool that garanties meeting the needs

hope that helps

Cheers

Couple of things.

1. Don't play with trademarks in your domains. If your site starts doing well and outranking the trademark owner's sites then they can shut you down in an instant. Not worth it.

2. As Tigerwar said above. There are millions of buyers keywords on the internet and there is no way my methods will get saturated. The opportunity is truly staggering if you really think about it. When it comes to physical products almost all keywords will make sales so go out there and rank for them and you'll see.

Cheers

good point. I have noticed that too. Need to select products that people "WANT to buy" (with discretionary income) and not "HAVE to buy" (perhaps reluctantly, like underwear). They tend to be tight wad visitors. One site gets tons of visits to amazon but very low sales. I believe it b/c its a product that they HAVE to buy but its not a sexy "I gotta have this" want to buy type product.

Hi Jan,

Could I just ask if this system for gaining profit from amazon would still be profitable for newbies as I notice your system has been for sale for a while now.

I bought Jan's course back in March and have 2 sites up using his methods. I finished the first site sometime in late March but up until a few days ago it wasn't really doing much.

I did get my first sale on May 5th but nothing else until May 31st. Then I received my 2nd sale. Together I made $9.98. Not much but now on June 3rd which was yesterday I made 2 sales for the first time one of which was not a product I was directly selling. That's Amazon for you with the up-sells.

Anyway the item that someone bought through my site that I wasn't pushing only gave me 50 cents but the other product that I WAS selling brought me around $11.50.

The traffic is suddenly picking up also. It just shows that patience really is important when you are putting sites like this out. You aren't going to make a ton in the first month, 2 months and probably 3 months (as Jan says) but if you stay with it and are patient you will start to see results.

It is a slow growth but it is growing!

I'll keep updating here as the ball keeps rolling and hopefully the money and sales keep growing.

that's what is so great about it. Sow and grow. They get better with age and all auto-pilot. Set and forget. Sow those seeds.

To take the code out you just have to comment it out. Appearance==>Editor==>Main Index Template(index.php)

<div id="slideshow">
<?php include (ABSPATH . '/wp-content/plugins/featured-content-gallery/gallery.php'); ?>
</div>

<!--<div id="slideshow">
<?php include (ABSPATH . '/wp-content/plugins/featured-content-gallery/gallery.php'); ?>
</div>-->

and that's it.

Thank you for that

I searched everywhere in the instructions to take it out and couldn't find a thing on this.

Thanks for this WSO!

I like the way this course was built up - as a noob this one took my hand and made me work. So I will work and tell you if/when i make my first money

Jan you told us to focus, so i am sorry not buying your new WSO yet, even if it looks very interesting.

So is the concensus that there are much better options that 3waylinks? If so, can anyone tell me what I can do instead of using 3waylinks?

There's lots of backlink options in the warrior for hire section.

I myself am going with an seo nuke monthly campaign.

Make sure you pop in regularly, special offers usually pop up, and new offers either have review copies or start off cheap and increase as time goes on, I believe it's called dime sale.

Anyway, I was about to fork out $24.95 for a seonuke x monthly package, and the seller put up a 12 hour sale for $17, just seen it by chance... so I bought 6

Backlinking is a pain, so, you should get someone who knows what they're doing and has the right tools for the job... if you think you're site can rank easy enough, and expect to pull in decent money from it, well, these offers are a no brainer to me.

I've bought scrape box, good for finding do follow high pr blogs... there's offers online, so you can pick it up for $57 instead of $99... just google scrapebox special offers...

Those are very respectable paychecks!

How many sites total do you have? How many of them bring sales and how many are duds, please? I'm curious.

SEONuke is 24.95 per site per month? If I create a batch of 10 sites, is there any service that will give a flat fee for multiple sites? Is there a certain way to backlink or a certain rate top providing the links to appease Google? If I did 10 sites at one time and they all got sandboxed, that would be a bummer. Do I quit backlinking after I've amassed more backlinks than the website in the #1 position on Google? At what point do you stop backlinking? If I'm wanting to backlink a new site, do I have to be careful of which services I choose to avoid excessive backlinking?

I've never backlinked before so this will be like learning how to walk for me.

Nope, what I was saying, you can get a warrior with seonuke x, and other tools to do your backlinking etc... check out the wso section of the site

With regards to article marketing for a new site. Do you only post to the top directories or can you use something like AMR to do a blast, and would this blast hurt the rankings

Hi Zimbizee,

I use AMR all the time for all my sites and I've never had a problem.

This isn't "A Blast". The word blast is used when getting anything above approx. 700 backlinks at once and indexing these straight away.

AMR, (although it gives you the possibility to send out upto 3000 backlinks) will actually deliver about 300-400 from the article directories per article. The other backlink possibilities require a slightly different technique, but I have never used them(it wasn't necessary!) - I have posted this a number of times here - The only backlinking I use for my sites is AMR article directories (between 3-5 articles per website, never done anymore), RSS backlinking and social bookmarks using WP-syndicator in my sig.

ALL of my sites hit the top for all keywords and stay there!!!

The trick when using AMR is to spin your links in the Resource Box....

E.g

you always enter TWO links, one to the home page and one to a post on your site...You would enter them like this:

blah blah blah <a href="http//:www.bestyoursitereviews.bla">best your site reviews</a>

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah {<a href="http//:www.bestyoursitereviews.bla/reviewpost">{keyword1|keyword2|keyword3|keyword4|keyword5|keywo rd6|keyword7|keyword8|keyword9|keyword10}</a>|<a href="http//:www.bestyoursitereviews.bla/reviewpost1">{keyword1|keyword2|keyword3|keyword4|keyword5|keywo rd6|keyword7|keyword8|keyword9|keyword10}</a>|<a href="http//:www.bestyoursitereviews.bla/reviewpost2">{keyword1|keyword2|keyword3|keyword4|keyword5|keywo rd6|keyword7|keyword8|keyword9|keyword10}</a>}

AMR takes care of the rest and sends a different keyword backlink out with every article + your homepage. All you have to do is ensure you have a good keyword LSI density on your page to accommodate for the backlinked keywords(one keyword must be on the targeted page).

The Power is in the multiple keyword backlinks to different pages that are divided into 300-400 directories which PREVENTS the index spaming where everyone normally gets penalized due throwing out too many links to ONE PAGE

Having submitted the articles you then go to the "LIVE LINKS" in AMR and convert those URLS provided into RSS FEEDS and distribute them, then take a list of those rss feeds and create backlinks to them. Repeat this a few times over the months and you get a continuous army of "contextual" backlinks. My sites rank on the first page with the first batch

That's it and like I say, I have never needed any other form of backlinking and my sites DON'T ever get penalized using this system.

I have of course tried many different backlink pakets on different projects in the past but in all, I didn't see any value and sometimes they got me penalized by "blasting" my single pages too quickly and the lack of contextual backlinks.

I've bought a bunch of seonuke x packages on the wso forum, managed to get a good price for them. I've given 5 articles, 1 video, 1 press release, bio and they're being nuked for $17... currently $29.

I like the sound of AMR, being a one off payment... I'll see how I get on with the nuke packages, but will probably pick up AMR at some stage.

I hear ye tiger, especially for new sites. The gig has good feedback, so I'm sure it'll be ok... they assured me it would all be natural and google friendly.

What's your thoughts on this amazon nexus fiasco? Don't want to send this post off on a tangent, but I posted a q in a related thread about it, and got no reply.

Could it be the end for amazon affiliates? I'm just starting out, but have already sunk a lot of time and money into my sites... Will it only be U.S amazon associates that are effected?

What's your thoughts on this amazon nexus fiasco? Don't want to send this post off on a tangent, but I posted a q in a related thread about it, and got no reply.

Could it be the end for amazon affiliates? I'm just starting out, but have already sunk a lot of time and money into my sites... Will it only be U.S amazon associates that are effected?
NEXUS is nothing to worry about and won't affect any of us. If anything, it just opens a platform for different strategies for Amazon.com and the Retailers. For every road block, there's a diversion
