Not sure how to answer this.

The plugin does indexing and pinging daily so that the links in the widget and in the articles get found and indexed by the search engines, yes.

Is that what you meant?

So for those users, we may just have to give you a 'turn it off' switch, and if you do not want the articles to appear on your main site, then install the plugin on a sub domain or in a sub directory and then let the articles publish there.

Once we get past that part, the new upgrades and features will come pretty fast.

Hi, Greg. I just wanted to mention that I've been using the "Simply Exclude" plugin mentioned earlier in this thread. It works just fine. I'd be more than satisfied if you simply ripped out all the "hide categories" functionality from ABC and just recommend that everyone who wants this feature use "Simply Exclude."

In other words, don't waste a lot of time and energy on an issue unrelated to ABC's core functionality when there's a free third-party solution available. My two cents. Your mileage may vary.

Well, I do not have full intimate knowledge of Google's algos, so I cannot say with 100% accuracy.

What I can say is that we have done everything we can see to eliminate footprints or what can be detected as a footprint.

If we become aware of something we will change it, as with a tool like this for SEO we do want to be careful.

Hey Steve,

Thanks for that, and we are about to come to this point. I know you can appreciate the effort we are making. It is eating SOO many hours and resources.

I must say that our 'testing' environment is better than most other products 'real' networks and we just simply cannot duplicate the error that some users are experiencing.

We have a separate cloud server farm that is a 'mirror' of the database and API fully loaded with data.

We then set up over 50 sites, on three different hosting plans, all different.

We also check against 19 different browsers in 6 different monitor sizes (mostly concentrate on the top 7 of course)

subdoamins, subdirectories, root installs, MU, different version of WP (including beta upcoming versions!)

We use different themes and plugin combinations to test.

I even had the Tech Team build a diagnostic plugin, give it to users. It produces a CSV file, of all their pertinent WP info, they send it in on a support ticket, and we recreate the identical scenario and still cannot duplicate what some of them are experiencing.

I wanted to offer an all in one solution - you know. 'Greg has that covered in the plugin' - but I may just have to draw the line on this one.

I am working on putting an on/off switch, so a user can use it or not and then if Hiding articles is an issue, they may have to go to a 3rd party plugin.

It is what it is, I guess.

I guess so many users will have to be careful as a lot of them are being reported as not working as of WP 3.1.

I do appreciate the kind words, and I hope a lot of people see this thread.

I am losing ground with getting more upgrades done and new features.

Plus I have a new plugin going to a WSO (hopefully next week ), that I need to finalize some things on as well, and that has suffered production time from this as well.

Overall, a quality product is great, but you cannot make it do everything for everyone.

Thanks again,

Once resolved (whichever way it goes) I will announce it in the usual ways, an email, the 'News' tab, the forum here.

Grab hold of the videos and tutorials and watch them, in order.

1) Keep doing what you are doing
2) make sure the pages are well optimized and interlinked
3) each page should have its own target KW
4) write articles with the inner pages as the target URL
5) submit those articles to the network in each of the 3 categories
6) make sure you are using as many links as you can - widget feature
7) build other links through article sites, video submissions, blog comments etc
8) build links to those other backlinks using the links feature - widget
9) make sure your content is unique
10) change the URL in the indexer to the inner pages of your sites every few days and run it a few times manually as well

I hope this helps. Keep it up!

Greg

Hey guys,
Above Greg suggests that you make sure your pages are well interlinked.
I found a great free plugin I thought I would share with you which should help you do this. It allows you basically add a footer to each post.

What I've done is add this footer as html code linking to my main money pages. So if I had a site about dog training, at the bottom of every single page on my site (apart from the homepage) I will have something like this:

Dog Training | Dog Training Collars | Dog Training Books | Dog Training Course

Each of these will link to different pages. The plugin also lets you automatically post links to other posts within the category, so kind of like a 'Next post >>>>' at the bottom of the article.

Again, this makes sure that all your pages are nicely interlinked, which means Google can crawl them easily.

Just my contribution..

All the best

Hey Greg,

Using the plugin on about 10 sites and so far it is working well. Only thing/bug I noticed was that sometimes there are blank links in the ABC link list (using widget)? It's like somebody entered the URL for their link but no text? Can you guys check the link lists and weed out the blanks please?

Looks strange to have like 3 links, then a blank line, then a couple more, instead of one complete list.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Greg,

Just a quick question on the plug-in, I have inserted tons of link in your server through the plug-in, but never submit article till now. (Subscribed in the early of this month.

I would like to know whether there will be a big difference on the backlink number in submitting the articles together with submit link and submit the link solely.

As far as I know, I am paying monthly for something like renting the "link", will the article also removed once unsubscribe?

Thanks

Nice share. I am a fan of things like this to help interlink. I feel that doing in the context of your article might be better, but this is still one way.

Will definitely look into it Chris.

If it continues to happen, please submit a support ticket. So far, no one else has mentioned this issue. You are the first.

Ringo,

Submitting links and articles will both get you backlinks. They are not affected by each other.

Pretty much a lot of links you get are like renting them, or like any other service similar to this.

The articles will stay as they are published, and the links will stop being distributed if you cancel.

I hope that answers it for your.

Thanks Greg. Could have just been a fluke, but I did notice something else. I am hoping everyone abides by the common suggested "rules" and makes decent looking links, but this one was on one of my sites today and is verbatim what the link line said:

"Golf Clubs L Golf Equipment L Golf Cart L Golf Bag L Golf Swing L Golf Balls L Golf Shoes L Callaway Golf L Golf Bags Lping Golf L Driver Golf L Ping Golf L Taylor Made Golf L Golfing L Golf Lessons L Golf Set L Golf Driver L Golfing Tips L Golf Irons L G"

Anyway to limit the length of text or somehow other check the links to be sure they are not just keyword stuffing as the example above clearly is? No big deal, but I hope everyone can make decent looking links, or it makes all of our sites look bad imho.

Thanks for the reply,
Chris

Greg,

I just found an article published on one of my sites where the paragraphs were enclosed in div tags instead of p tags, which caused the entire article to show on the home page rather than an excerpt. Also, the entire article was actually entered twice in the same post, including the title.

I just discovered a full-blown advertisement about satellite TV posted in the Recreation and Sports category I put on my kayak site. Not good.

BTW, please add a Water Sports category to the ABC category list.

I guess that someone "misspelled" the spintax syntax.
It has to be the | divider instead of the L.

That`s why we need a preview or preapproval for the articles.
Lets wait and see what Greg will come up with.

Chris,

I appreciate the feedback. For this, I would need to know the category chosen so I can go in and find it and edit it.

We do have measures in place to 'clean up human error'. "Code is poetry!"

We are adding more and upgrading all the time.

Thank you for sharing the same viewpoint I have. Believe it or not, the list of customers that share the same viewpoint is surprisingly high, and this is what will allow us to continue to improve and grow this network.

For things like that, please submit a support ticket.

This way, we can track it (internally) and get to resolving it asap.

When you do, we need more information than, 'I found an article' please.

There is a table provided with a unique ABC article ID, just for this reason.

We then can right to the article and edit or delete. I am not afraid to delete stuff I am finding, and I do.

I caught someone 2 days ago trying to game the system. It really was a shame too, because he had some great unique links and KWs. He could have easily been slaying it with those, but he had to play a little game to get some other links in there.

I deactivated his entire account immediately! Good links and the spammy ones. I don't play with that crap! The network doesn't need that, I don't want it, and if losing their business is my consequence, so be it! -End Rant.

BTW - we are going to be adding another feature where you can 'flag' an article right in the table and it will go directly to the admin utility for us to see, and edit or delete.

The next set of upgrades will be very cool.

This is also why we put the Hide Categories in the plugin. We have had no issues with it, but some users have, so we are going to put in an on/off switch. If it does not work for you, there are many 3rd party plugins that will hide specific categories from the viewer standpoint and still be visible for the search engines.

Thanks.

A previewer is definitely on the list among some other really cool stuff.

Greg

PS. As soon as I know the category that link was placed I will fix it with a simple Find/Replace.

Hi Greg, I was ready to buy this tonight but I saw something that made me hold back. Hopefully I didn't understand. Am I limited to 500 backlinks with one subscription? That is enough for my product sites but I need something for another site and isn't nearly enough for that one. My competition has 10 to 30K links I'm on page one with 1000 so content is still king but I need to get above the fold. Thanks! I'm eager to try this.

Greg, since you upgraded this plug in, there seems to be a few bugs, i don't have time to check all my blogs on ABC as i have to many, and to many articles, but today i have had a few emails saying there links are not showing on there published articles, then i checked some of mine and found the same, Now you no, i love this pug in, and i do all i can to promote this to my list, because this works , but sometimes keeping it simple is best, on a side note i also had a email thanking me for recommending ABC as well as some of my advice, and they made 9 sales yesterday,

so Greg, what else can i say,
time to have a beer or 3

Hey Rusty,

Heck of a commute for ya, huh? lol.

You get 550 links per account yes. I have been telling everyone I am going to be adding a rewards program that will entitle you to get more links to your account.

This will work by giving you more links for each new site you install a widget and each new site you set up an article category on.

That has not been put in place yet, as we are tidying up some bug/support issues before we add new upgrades and features. I am not going to keep throwing new stuff into the pot just because, when some of the them are not working for some users. The tech team and I are hammering those out, and then will move on to new stuff.

Some user have purchased a double account who did not want to wait. I then went in and doubled their links.

I am interested in the rewards program and getting that to work, as it will explode the size of the network with the only cost going to me for the server resources it will consume.

In the long run it will be better for everyone as the larger the network becomes, the better the results for everyone.

To address your issue:

If you give it a shot for a month or two, you will be pleasantly surprised at what it will do for you if you set it up and work it.

I hope that helps and would love to have you on board.

Haha, yeah, I got tired of the rate race, took early retirement and ran away from home! I forgot to stop till I met these awesome Filipina.

Greg, I may give it a try. I need a lot more links. I've just started in the product page niche because my main one is just too limited in traffic and high in competition. LOL Bad combination.

I tried a competitor of you'rs once and had one blog rejected because I talk about religion and had suicide prevention articles on that site. I mean, I'm not the most holy guy around or anything and the site isn't about that but I can't talk about religion.

I spent hours setting the sites up because it was complicated and instructions were broken. Needless to say, "I dropped it like it was hot."

I've got articles about abortion on one site as it is a big issue in the Philippines right now.

Am I going to have to jump through hoops to get sites approved. Do you have un-allowed content like that?

I suppose if I thought it increased my sales enough I could justify getting additional accounts. I'm already whipping most other sites so maybe I can get buy with fewer links but I know they are important as some of the sites ahead of me totally suck.

3? I am quite funny with a few in me. lol

We are hammering the bugs, right now they are down to only affecting a few users and we have that pretty much beat.

The relative links thing was an issue, and we got that resolved 2 releases ago. If it did affect a user, we offered to go in and fix it if they provided us some information. We wrote a little script that would do that in only a few seconds, if we had all of your info.

I am unaware of any new issues that have come up. We are getting ready to migrate into the realm of upgrades and enhancements, some the users have been asking for, and some I am throwing in.

Then to new features that do more backlinking for you automatically.

Thanks Kev.

Rusty,

I like it! I may do that myself one day! Great thing about working online, all you need is an internet connection. Location means nothing!

Have a look at the site (the plugin site) and check it out:

ABC User Dashboard « Automatic Backlink Creator

Watch some of the videos. I can tell you this with confidence:

If you follow the setup and the videos, the plugin WORKS! Those who cancel are not using it correctly, PERIOD! Especially for the price!

I am fairly confident that one account would do a lot and you should start there for now. I am not the guy to hammer you for multiple accounts and all that. Check it out.

I also put together a nice little keyword research webinar and recorded it, you can check it out here:

Keyword Research Webinar « Automatic Backlink Creator

I hope to see you on the inside Rusty.

Thanks.

Greg
Greg,

It would be best if ABC submitted posts as Pending Review and sent notifications to site owners via email, like the UAW plugin does, so that site owners can moderate the content being added. Blindly deleting posts is not good because, if they have already been indexed, 404 errors will get generated, instead of "310 Gone" responses.

I've already corrected the double-content post myself.

Greg this may have already been answered but I could not find it.

I just went through and checked to see if my articles were listed on other sites correctly and I could not find many of them. Is this because they have hidden the categories? and if yes is there a way I can find out if my articles are there?

I hope to soon as well. Now that some of the bigger bugs have been fixed, now we are going to be getting more onto additional upgrades and new features. I have just brought 2 more guys on and will be working with them next week to get them up to speed (hopefully).

The pending review is probably not going to happen. That creates a new set of issues.

People don't open their email. They don't approve or post, then I have to create mechanisms to not allow their stuff to go out...

I already have that now, that if you do not have articles being placed, then you cannot participate.

I tried creating the Hide Categories feature for some and it worked for most. There are 3rd party options available.

PLUS I designed the plugin to allow you to install it anywhere and build links TO anywhere. So it could be on a throw away domain, sub domain or in a sub directory and set the articles up there. Kind of a set it and forget it.

What may actually happen is I may wind up setting up my own blog network and looping everyone out. Possible. Maybe.

What is definitely happening is that we are adding more code checks and balances to the plugin, and will have someone manually approving articles as well. At that point the account will have a limit on how many articles can be submitted monthly, and after the automated checks and balances which will include:

word count
link limit
html in title
uniqueness
submission to category limit

If those parameters are passed, then they will be manually approved or not. That will entail, spin quality (the ones that use spinners and spin EVERY possible word and synonym will be rejected), and the value for a family based network, if passed will be there publishing to sites.

It does take time to set this up and make sure each piece is working. But when up, it will rival all other services in both quality, effectiveness and price! No doubt!

If someone makes some corrections, without changing links, that is fine and much appreciated. very humane of you.

Now if someone is deleting without admin approval, then they are in violation of the TOS and are risking their account. There are options to work around this, and they are gone over in great detail in the training videos.

Now those who do report mistakes or spam attempts so that we can correct them on the DB side so they do not continue to hurt the network will be given permission to change something or delete it.

Once all these mechanisms are in place, and we are planning on going through EVERY article and link, this will really not be an issue as everything will need to be approved!

There is a reason why this is beta priced and not at the full blow target price of $67-$97 monthly when all upgrades and a few new backlinking features are in place.

I appreciate the feedback.

Partly.

Believe it or not, not all users have a version form 2.0+ installed. I drastically changed the code there so we could record better the URLs where the articles landed.

Right now it will only show the top URL. Not the drilled down specific URL. We are looking into adding that coding.

So, depending on the version of the plugin an article got installed, if the ABC articles are hidden, or if it is on a drilled down page and the plugin doesn't show it is how.

I am going to find a way to get those drilled down URLs. For right now the URL they are on is where they were published.

Of course, some days will yield more articles than others.

If you want to until I get it all sorted, you can Google your article by putting the first paragraph in quotes and searching for it.

Sorry if the answer is not what you were expecting, but will only be honest with ya.

Thanks for the link to the videos. The other product looks very nice too. Learned some things in that long video for SE Cockpit too.

You know, it was another webmaster that suggested Asia to me, more than five years ago. I thought he was nuts. Then I met Filipina and he made much more sense then. lol

You'll see me inside soon but not as soon as I would like.

wouldn't the plugin leave a "Footprint" that the search engines can easily detect from your network? What makes it different from Backlink Energizer and WP Syndicator?

Thanks

No, not really. Not any more than any other type of network service. We have taken many precautions to make sure that nothing is creating a footprint.

Actually quite a bit right now. Those are some great plugin, but they do different things.

I am going to be adding more features like those soon though.

The ABC allows a user to join a participation network.

You then submit your anchor text to the network with a target URL and choose a category.

You install a widget on your site. The widget displays links from other users on your site. Every site in the network (now over 6,000) does the same. You choose a category to display links from.

The same with articles. You submit your articles with your anchor text to the network, and choose a category.

You set up a category on your site to have ABC articles posted, choosing a category from ABC to display from. An article a day from users will get posted on your site and your article gets posted on other users sites.

The ABC plugin is indexing your plugin dozens of times a day, and pinging daily as well.

So the links in the widget and the articles are getting indexed by the search engines.

That is the nutshell.

There are additional features and more being added and tweaked.

Greg,

I think I understand now. I have only made it through the first five or so videos so far but the 500 links means I can put in 500 links but that doesn't mean 500 back links. Correct? For each link 100 other sites COULD display it so one link can get an unlimited number of back links?

I had to install into a subdirectory/domain on my main site. I can't turn off the tools for caching (that alone didn't fix the denied access issue for but I have a minify plugin installed too) on that site. It gets too slow. I saw you mention to someone else that can foul up the stats a bit. Will I still have that issue on a subdomain. My guess is yes. But it isn't a huge issue. I just want to know.

One more question and then I'll start using your knowledge base and ticket system. You recommend using postname only in the permalinks. I usually like to use both category and postname. (I've never been sure that is really the best though.) Is either okay?

Hi Rusty,

I'll add my 2 cents here if you don't mind.

I signed up a few weeks ago, and have added the widget with the links, but where I am really seeing some cool results is by submitting the articles. It's very early days and the network is growing daily Greg says, but I'm getting at least 4 articles a day published on sites with 4 links in each.
These are all on sites in the network that are going to get crawled and indexed by Google.

In my opinion, I think the real power of this plugin lies in the articles. My tactic is to submit a new article each day. I few posts back on this thread a guy said he had submitted around 300 articles over the last few months and was now getting 50 articles a day published with 4 links in each.

Just my little bit.

Good luck.

I'm not trying to be smart, but one man's idea of gaming the system could be another's idea of maximizing the capability of the system.

Is there a post or page somewhere with the rules & perhaps a faq that lays out everything?

Yes, each link you submit (same as articles) could wind up on dozens or more sites.

Installing on a sub domain is not a problem, especially if you do not have it plugin 'heavy'.

We think we have resolved the 'access denied' issues some users are getting. That is being tested as I write this, and we sent it to some beta testers who were having the issue, is they come back with positive answers, then we are going to release it.

I only recommend that permalink structure as it would make it easier for users to find their articles until I get the exact URL location.

I personally like it or the structure you have chosen as it is more search engine friendly and I feel provides better results and when human eyes are possibly clicking on it, it will be more attractive for them to click on it.

Either one will work just fine.

Thank you for the comment! I am glad you are happy with the results.

There is NO way this plugin will not work, and I am crazy to let it go on at this price, because IT DOES WORK!

If you do what you are doing, submit links and articles. That is a GREAT plan! An article a day is fantastic!

Keep it up and report back.

Yes, the TOS. Easily accessible on the site.

I am going to be adding in automated restrictions that will limit such nefarious activities.

I agree with you Robin, being smart and taking advantage WITHIN the rules is one thing, but blatant spam is another.

He was posting anchor text for nude pics in EVERY category! It is bad enough the anchor text is a direct violation, but in EVERY category.

Sure he used up his links faster, but in the family, kids, spirituality, work at home...etc. C'mon!

There are services that will help you build links to such sites. You pay through the NOSE for them. Go there.

I know what you are saying and like I said, I agree.

I see users submitting 20 links, to one category and waiting. They do nothing else and then cancel after 2 weeks. Well I have seen 2 do it, but still.

That is not taking advantage of the opportunity.

You have a site to promote, right?

Submit to 2 categories, every page on the site.
Submit an article a day to 2 categories with links to every page on the site.
Make sure each page is optimized well.
Use the indexer for each page in your site, each page your articles are published on also.
Build links to everywhere you have links built. Videos, articles, blog comments, bookmarking, other ABC users sites that have your articles...etc.

That is taking the right steps to use a tool, and still not taking advantage of it.

Like I said in an earlier post, it was a shame because the user had some decent links with some good anchor text, but he blew it by being greedy and trying to game the system.

What I didn't say was I was kind the first time I found it by only deleting some links he had and leaving the rest. What did he do? Did he take advantage of my kindness? Nope. He went back and filled in those links and MORE with crap. Out he went, good and all.

I am not going to let a user ruin the potential for some amazing results for everyone who plays nicely with others.

That is not what I am establishing with this plugin and network or for my reputation.

I have some other products coming out soon and I am not willing to allow one or two bad apples ruin the whole bunch. Some people have a hard time seeing past a few glitches or a few problem people and would just then avoid me or any products I put out.

I know you are one of the good people who understands and I am glad you brought this up. It is a good point and should be addressed. So, thank you!

My competition has 10 to 30K links I'm on page one with 1000 so content is still king but I need to get above the fold. Thanks! I'm eager to try this.
Maybe I can help here

You're not limited to 500 links in the sense that you'll only get 500 links pointed to your sites

Each ABC link maybe more appropriately called a 'link generator'
So one ABC 'link generator' for say xyz.com means that you have a link that will pop up on other sites to be registered by G at multiple times. So, one ABC 'link generator' can create multiple links. I've used about 50 'ABC Link generators' on one of my sites and it now has over 1000 backlinks.

So 500 ABC link generators over a year will generate many 000's of backlinks!

Hope that helps

Anchor text is a violation? confused. I thought direct links in the articles were a violation. What am I missing. Did he link the title?

It was good to see you gave him a warning by deleting instead of banning the first time. Perhaps he thought the links were auto deleted and didn't' realize someone had done it manually. If not, that's just stupid.

Greg or other users, how do I submit an article to more than one category? Post it twice? I'm pretty sure that's not the way.

How long does it take for articles to get picked up? Depend on the number of members in that category?

Greg, is it okay to submit the same link to different categories. There's no way to automate that, right? Must do it manually for each category? I've watched the adding links vid twice, maybe a third time is required for the dense. lol

I was putting most of mine in one category as I though it made it more relevant. Some didn't fit well with my favorite. I will start mixing it up even more!

Hi RustyF

At the moment you do have to submit your article twice.

Once to each category.

I would imagine Greg is looking to improve this over time.

Articles can get picked up at anytime as they are randomly
selected from the main server depending on how many people
have that category selected for their site.

Regards

Terry
