Is it compulsary for us to display the widget and give backlinks to others? This means , it is not really one way backlinks that this plugin is offerinng. We need to give in order to get.

Ok, so I jumped aboard last night and had some questions and concerns. First off let me start out by saying the plugin is super easy to set up and get going. The videos are really good so thanks Greg.

I really like the concept behind this plugin but have concerns:

1) many of the links showing up in the widget are not related to the category I chose. For instance, I chose kids and teen as a category for one of my sites for the widget and got the following links: learn french fast, I quit paying my cable bill, free retirement speeches, going green. What in blazes do these have to do with kids and teens? This shows a flaw in that we have to trust others users selecting the right category for their links to show up in. What filters are in place to ensure accurate category selection?

2) Since installing the plugin I have had an increased number of comments (far more than usual) BUT they are very obviously coming from other users of the plugin visiting the links in their widget and looking to add comments. I can tell by the typical useless spammy type comments. People are trying to get even more backlinks this way as blog commenting as is often suggested. Therefore the traffic increase so far is useless so people shouldn't get excited so quickly. Over time however if the links do get indexed it should help with ranking for keywords (I hope).

3) One of the links in my widget is about french fries and recipes etc., but the site owner obviously forgot to add the separator between keywords as the link anchor text is around 20 words long and looks terrible on my site! There should be an anchor text limit of up to 5 or 6 words to prevent this problem.

4) how does the plugin prevent 2 sites in the directory or database from pointing to each other and thus prevent two way linking as per the concerns in the 2 posts above?

Just to see if I understand the concept of this plugin:
Our submitted links end up rotating on different sites submitted in the database. Since the links in the widget are constantly changing on refresh of the pages, how do we get credit for the links if they don't stay on the site? Don't spiders
take time to crawl the site? And won't links get discredited if the spiders no longer find them the next time they crawl?

By submitting articles, they get submitted onto other sites. How often will they get posted and how often will I see other peoples articles posted onto my site?

Last question-aren't we giving up a tonne of link juice by having all these outbound links to other sites? I am thinking this is probably just a myth because article directories have thousands of do follow outbound links and rank well but just curious.

Anyone care to take a stab at answering until Greg can? Thanks!

I have to agree that the links are not focused on the category I chose
for my sites nor are the articles that are appearing on my site from
other authors.

There needs to be some sort of improvement done with filtering and editing
to make sure that links and articles do only appear in the correct subject.

In general though the plugin seems to be working fine and I am sure over time
these points will be looked at and hopefully improved.

Huh, a lot of questions, but some inspired me to say something (in order to help fellow warriors ). I am also a plugin user for the last 10 days or so...

As long as category selection is up to the users to decide, there will always be inaccurate decisions. I can't imagine automation of that. Even article directories are checking people' category selections manually, so I wouldn't expect that a simple plugin will outsmart that process. Due to that we can always face a flaw, I know. Maybe Greg can advise some workaround...

Not sure what has plugin to do with people's vish to spam with additional backlinks. I think you should report such events to Greg as he promised to shut down users who are abusing the plugin. Or just turn off automatic allowance of blog comments if you haven't done it already.

Yeah, I also write to plugin support team when I notice bugs. I think it takes some time to implement all necessary controls. It's not so popular to have bugs in the software, but show me the software without any, specially in the early stage. I am testing my patience, too.

I'm not afraid of 2-way linking between the sites, as long as they're not on the same server/IP class. As far as I understood from the manual/videos, my own backlinks will not show up pointing to each other because they are recorded under my single account ID. So, if I install this plugin on a couple of sites, those sites will not exchange links because they are coming from my account. Only other people account links will be shown.

Hah, wil the crawler be able to scan your site and catch backlinks to put them in Google's index? If you have ever used Google webmaster tools, you could have seen that Google bot scans page(s) in many short intervals, and one interval could last a fraction of milisecond. You can optionally set higher interval for crawling, but imho, it's better to constantly call for bot to come by often publishing fresh content. Then there are chances that more backlinks can be indexed, because every time when spider comes, different sets of links are provided through the widget. It is publicly known that pages with higher PR's are more frequently visited by spiders and bots, and without any additional changes made on them.

Will the backlinks be discredited if on one occasion they are present, and the next are gone? This can be answered probably by Google engineers only. But think a moment about this... You well know that on main forum and subforum pages there are always usernames shown that made most recent post. Those link leads to a profile page that could hold a backlink, usually to the moey page. Can you imagine how often these username links are changing on active forums (like this one)? Is there any damage to the links or proflie pages these usernames are pointing to? And is there any damage to the backlinks that was led to by "damaged" username backlinks? Of course not! I think the only problem with this is that such links have no significant value in the long run, since they got de-indexed if they are not alive.

If you're afraid of "giving" too much linkjuice, you can always hard code into your theme meta tag that all of your links are nofollow. Or see with Greg if he can code it into the plugin that all articles get nofollow tag on submission. As for me, I don't bother with that. What I want the most is to get some useful, quality, and to some extent unique content.

Last but not least, I would also like to know how often articles get posted and how often can I see other peoples articles posted onto my site? If I'm correctly in reading my trecbacks, one article in the database gets one submission daily (IF there are blogs with matching categories to submit to). Greg should confirm on this .

So far so good!

Hey Chris,

Just catching up. Feel free to use the support email.

Thanks for jumping in and giving feedback and I am thrilled you are seeing results.

I have added this to my 'look at/update' list for the plugin. I will get back to everyone via the email channel of users with all upgrades.

Any update on that up to this moment?
I am working on getting exact numbers, right now with the number of users and from what I can see, there are already hundreds of sites, with more being added daily.

Some users have contacted me telling me that they are going to install it on hundreds, even thousands of sites.

What I am working on is the back end, where I will be able to get an accurate count that is up to date on: sites installed on, widgets installed, articles categories installed, etc.

This information will help with sales (just being honest) and with all those who want to know. It is not a secret, I just don't have the number to give out and I am not going to create something out of thin air.

I hope that helps.

Have I got it right - this plug-in will
  1. Provide backlinks via a widget - I put a widget on my page which links to other 'members' pages and they do likewise, providing backlinks to my pages
  2. Provide 10 'new' articles for each of my sites per day thus providing fresh content in the eyes of the Big G because each time my site/s get spidered there is fresh content there. The articles are drawn from a database of articles provided by the 'members'
  3. By me providing articles to the database - they are distributed around, providing backlinks to my site via the embedded links in my articles.
Have I got it right?
Hi Snapper,

I'm back, and thank you for your patience. I believe I can help, unless someone has answered (I am trying to rush to get to everyone! )

1) YES. It filters through a database. These are one way links btw.

2) No. Right now there is no set number or a schedule you can set, I am looking into the coding for that as we speak, it will look to the database to post daily though. I am looking into what it will take to allow you as a user to increase that at your discretion.

3) YES.

I hope that helps.

Hey Klemen,

Thank you for your interest, I am just getting back at it from my family holiday, so I also appreciate your patience.

Thanks also for the kind words.

I appreciate your concerns. I have the same ones.

I am in the process of creating upgrades. I have already released a new version for users and am getting ready for another one (in the next day or two).

I am also looking into different checks and balances that will ensure the quality of the content and the network as a whole.

I am also looking into the additional features for the users as well. Those who get in will receive all at this price, and if they stay active - will for life.

I am going to be providing a list of URLs where the articles are published as well, with a little bonus (I like to over deliver)

I hope that helps.

Hi cpalounger,

Thanks for looking at the plugin!

I think I understand the question, so here goes:

You put your content into an 'editor'. This editor is on its own page in the plugin administration. It is the same type of editor you use to create a WP Page or Post.

Once created, you 'submit' it to the database. It will get distributed from there.

You create the category and user on your site, submitting that to the database, the plugin will do the rest.

I really made this VERY user friendly and it is pretty easy to follow. I made very detailed videos (imho) that explain it all step by step.

You will submit the spun articles to the database. If you want to also post the same article on your site, you can, it is your site.

I hope that helps explain it.

In short, YES.

You must display the widget in order to be able to submit to the database. If you uninstall the widget from the site, your links become inactive in the database and will no longer be rotated around.

They are one way backlinks. They are one way in that they are not reciprocal. It is not a link exchange. Some time ago, a few years - so in internet years that means several decades, people would exchange links.

I put a link to your site on my site and you put a link on your site that points to my site. This is a no-no now.

If you mean that you have to display links to be able to submit links, then yes that is true. That is how you have to 'give to get'.

I hope that helps.

I joined up a few days ago and here are my observations:
  • Really easy plugin to install
  • There have been 2 articles posted to my blog so far, which happens automatically. I am a bit of a novice when it comes to SEO but I understand that Google will treat the new articles as fresh content which helps my rankings.
  • As others have mentioned the links in the widget on my blog don't have a lot of relevance to my category but at this stage I don't really care. I am just looking for links and I am sure that if I outsourced links then not all the links that an external link person would submit would be in my niche. Once again I am a novice at SEO but I think a relevant link is better than a non relevant link... but a non relevant link is better than no link at all.
  • I was a little concerned because there was a link showing up for Oral and a word that starts with S and ends with EX but I haven't seen it in the last 24 hours and so maybe it has been filtered out. Just wasn't appropiate to my category of Kids and teens.
  • I love the thought that once set - all I have to do is add an article on a regular basis and this plugin will keep providing links and fresh content. Makes it easy.
Overall I am very happy with this but I guess the proof will be in the pudding. I am learning patience is a key with SEO - I haven't obtained any links yet but I think there is enormous potential - I just won't be cracking open the bubbly until I see those links pouring in!

Hey inneraction,

Thanks for checking out the plugin and the nice comments and words!

Much appreciated, especially for my FIRST product and my FIRST WSO!

Let me take a stab at these here.

1) I am not fond of the word 'flaw' so much. If, IF unsuccessful, I prefer to look at it as confirming a way it did not work.

There is some trust here, yes, no doubt. I believe with most networks that share a 'community' there is some level of trust. With that I know there are some concerns and I am addressing them.

First for the categories, the plugin goes to the database and searches the category you requested. If there are not enough (to give you duplicates), it may go to a 'related' category. Some of these links may be from those as well.

As far as filters, I am putting more in place and will be making the plugin/database/network more robust than ever, and more than what people expect. I am committed to this.

2) I understand this. I suggest putting checks in place, such as akismet and other spam comment blockers. Choose to have people register and approve all comments first. There is really nothing that I can do with this plugin to prevent people from coming to your site and making comments, spammy or not.

It will help with rankings, and when it does it will bring traffic, and yes some of that traffic is the spammers, looking to jump on for a free ride.

I have had a site in the network for 9 days and have:
208 backlinks in Yahoo
10 keyword(s) on Page 1
1 keyword on Page 2

others have been reporting great results.

3) good suggestions! I will look into some coding to help with this. I am sure the user just did it incorrectly. Not everyone is familiar with this type of marketing, I tried to make it easy with the videos (which you liked).
I helped one user because they were using the capital letter 'I' as their separator. Once I helped them, they were good to go.

4) It tracks IPs. Articles are tagged and given an ID # as well. No duplicate ID will be published (same article twice) or from the same IP.

We get credit for the links because of the indexing function (set at 10 sites a day), plus the pinging when something gets published, form the ABC plugin or from the site owner.

It is already working as I mentioned above for myself and most users.
So far, NO, we have not seen a 'discrediting' for links not being there later.

At this time (an upgrade is in the works) it is once daily for posting to someones site. Keep in mind everyone has their sites set to their local time (or they should). I am planning a scheduling function if you want more often.

To be honest, I cannot give a definitive answer to this, because I also have read different opinions and thoughts on both sides of this. I am not sure that this will really hurt you more than the benefits of the plugin and the network, IF there is a definite 'loss'.

I happen to feel this is more of a very conservative approach that people take.
Just my opinion though.

I hope this helps. I appreciate your patience.

Hi Terry,

I agree. I am taking in the suggestions and working on the logistics of the programming with these things in mind:

ease of use
functionality
effectiveness

Thanks for the kind words.

So far so good!
getin2learn,

Thank you for the follow up and the comments.

I appreciate the comments and the support.

I am serious about this plugin and committed to it's success!

I went through over 50 versions before I released version 1.5.0 9 days ago.

I then released version 1.5.1a 4 days after that.

I am hoping to release the next version in the next 24-48 hours (within 10-11 days of release).

I am hoping to get out at least another few feature upgrades before the end of the month as well.

I am listening to the thread and the support email very carefully and closely.

As mentioned, some things take time. I am working to cut that down ASAP.
I am even looking into eventually bringing in help, in addition to automation, to do some manual checking. Those in now at 15 bucks a month will be WAAY ahead at that price.

Certain things you can worry about and some things are just not worth too much attention, for example, certain 'what if'' scenarios about the EXACT aglos of Google. That is tough to do, really.

Right now the articles are set to look for an article to post daily. One of the feature upgrades I am looking into is to set a scheduling option for those who would like more often for the 'content' effect.

So far so good.....and only getting BETTER!

Thanks again!

Hey snapper,

Thanks for the kind words....

You are correct about a few things.
Patience helps. I have a hard time with this one myself, but is is better and healthier.
IMHO, Google looks for links. They want them to be relevant, yes, but links are important to appear as natural.
So with that thinking, how natural is it that all of your backlinks are on related sites that are PR5 or higher ONLY?

It really isn't that natural, is it? A few no and 0 PR sites and some unrelated category sites would appear more 'natural' wouldn't it?

So, again, in my opinion, I think it will not hurt you at all. Actually, I think that those who have links from both and all will fare better in the ling run anyway.

I went through the database and have not found that link. I will run through it again!

Thanks for the comments.
Chill the bubbly, cause I think it won't take long.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for your replies to my questions above in post #204. Couple things:

1) Can you please add a pregnancy and baby category (can be together) and maybe a parenting one as well? Those will be very popular I would imagine.

2) With regards to the suggestion I had wherein you limit the anchor text to 5 or 6 words to prevent long links due to incorrect separator use in the keyword box you could program it as follows:

Set it up so that you have a separate box for each keyword phrase instead of all of them on one line. While I like how easy it is putting them all in one box as you have it now, it will eliminate the seperator being used incorrectly. You could set it up with an option to "add new keyword" and if selected it would open up another box to enter the keywords if you get what I mean.

One last thing- just to confirm- say you have site A (mine) and site B (yours). Can you guarantee that the widget links will never at any time have my link on your site B pointing to me, and your link on my site A pointing to you at the exact same time thus in effect creating reciprocal links?

Thanks again and keep up the awesome customer service- it is outstanding!

Hi inneraction,

1) 'Parenting' category - ADDED!

2) I have made a note of the idea and will look into it. I have some really cool and useful upgrades coming out soon, that I am already committed to.

3) good question and I am not sure I can. They are programmed to not do that, but I am not going to say something I cannot guarantee. Lots of factors here. What id one site is not nearly as busy as another and doesn't change for several days (no visitors) and the other site does.

Thank you for the kind words.

I am really enjoying it!

I appreciate the kind words. You are welcome, and thank you for being a customer!

I am glad the accuracy is better now as well.

*Please Note*

This category is brand new, you are probably the only one with links it in at the moment. I did link it to 2 'related' categories as well, so it may take a bit for it to have 'tons' of links in it like the other categories.

Other than that, let me know what is working and what you would like to see. I will do my best to accommodate as long as it benefits the users and the network.

Enjoy your weekend.

I appreciate you linking it to the others for now to keep me getting links.

Wanted to suggest that you add a preview button in the article submission area as available in the posts area. Would help with double checking articles.

***One last thing- does it matter if we use html in the article post box? For one I did and the other I used plain text and added the links with the chain button.***

preview button is interesting. I did make the articles able to be edited, you can kind of use that as a preview. I will look into the preview button idea though.

The editor in the ABC plugin will NOT read raw html. You must put in your articles and use the 'kitchen sink' features to add any html formatting. (If you or anyone has questions on how to do this, just shoot me an email at support)

You can alos have your article somewhere else in html format and then 'open it in MS Word'.
Word can read html and it will display the article in html. It will also be obvious if there are and html formatting issues. If not then you can go to the editor in the ABC plugin and use the 'import from Word' button.

I hope that helps.

I put a link to your site on my site and you put a link on your site that points to my site. This is a no-no now.

If you mean that you have to display links to be able to submit links, then yes that is true. That is how you have to 'give to get'.

The widget is not considered as backlinks?

So in return we will get backlinks from others that include our link (widget) on their sites?

Can someone assist me with how to put articles in so they can spin new versions? I think I saw it called spintax... (must admit.. havent' searched it out yet) but thought maybe someone might have a handy "how to" they could send me.

Hi organizationer,

I think I understand the question.

The 'widget' is just the name of the 'area' on the wordpress site. It usually is in the sidebar.

In the case of the ABC Plugin, it is a series of links, like the blogroll.
When displayed on your site, it will show links from other users. Your links will display on other users sites.

I hope that helps.

Hi Terry,

Great news! Thank you for the update. I am glad it is working well for you.

I am very happy with the results so far (going into day 10).

BTW - will have a new release coming again (I hope this weekend), with a few small fixes I found.

Keep me updated of your progress.

Hi kreative,

Thank you for the kind words about the plugin. I am glad you like it.
So far the response has been GREAT with lots of positive feedback, both with results people are getting and the plugin itself.

I can help you a bit with the spintax. If anyone else can as well, by all means.

Spinning is just getting different versions of an article so that each version that gets spun is 'unique' from the original.

The tools of spinning are:

{} the curly bracket
| the pipe character (above the enter button)

When creating an article you want to create different unique versions, the way to do that is tell the story in different ways.

You can do this by changing around words, groups of words, sentences or whole paragraphs.

Here is an example:

Here is an example of spinning for article writing.
This is one way of spinning when article writing.

These 2 sentences basically say the same thing and are very different from each other.

The tools are for the software to determine how to randomly grab what words from each sentence.

When you put the { somewhere it will trigger the software to 'randomly grab a word or groups of words inside. The closing } curly bracket tells the software it is done for now.

The | pipe character separates the words you want to interchange with each other.

{This morning|Earlier|A while ago} you asked for help with spintax.

If you submitted this sentence to the database, you would get these possible spun versions:

This morning you asked for help with spintax.
Earlier you asked for help with spintax.
A while ago you asked for help with spintax.

Now:

{This morning|Earlier|A while ago} you asked for {help|assistance} with spintax.

This morning you asked for help with spintax.
Earlier you asked for help with spintax.
A while ago you asked for help with spintax.
This morning you asked for assistance with spintax.
Earlier you asked for assistance with spintax.
A while ago you asked for assistance with spintax.

So that one sentence using the spin format, in this example, would produce 6 unique sentences.

You can use the spin format (at least with my plugin) to do nesting, or spinning within spinning.......

The more spinning of words and groups of words and whole sentences you do, the better! The more unique the article appears, the better for the search engines and the better for you posting it, because you get more credit for uniqueness.

I hope this helps a bit.

Greg, you are AWESOME! thank you for that. I knew a little about it and have a program that will spin articles for me but this will be invaluable for doing it with your plugin. (which, btw...I purchased earlier today...very excited!).

appreciate the help!!!

Thank you for that!
Here is a free resource that might help as well:
http://www.jetspinner.com/index.php

I am NOT affiliated with this site. They will ask for an email. Your choice to use it. They have a free spinner with instructions and you can also use it to get different words (built in library of synonyms).

When you create an article there, you can then copy it and paste it into the ABC Plugin.

If you use it, use the 2.0 version. You do not have to pay for anything to use it, unless you want to, the free version will work fine.
They offer a submission service also (I think that is where the cost comes in)

AGAIN- I am not an affiliate of this site. It is just a resource that might help you. You will have to give them an email to have access, but it might be worth it for you.

Thanks also for the purchase.

Anything comes up, contact me here or at the support email.

Have a great weekend!

Greg

Hey Greg,

Couple issues I wanted to report:

1) On my widget I am getting my own links showing up. Had 2 at the same time that were my own.

2) I had another users article post to my site today but it was complete gibberish. I will have to delete it as I cannot salvage it, it is that bad. What is the rule regarding deleting such posts? I realize quality may be impossible to control on your end.

Just to make sure I understood above, when you say you linked parenting category to 2 others (guessing kids and teens and home and family), this means that my articles will get posted to sites related to the 2 linked categories until parenting becomes sufficiently large enough?

Thanks for the follow up.

1) this issue will be resolved in the next release (hopefully before the weekend ends)

2) complete quality is impossible to control, and I am taking steps to add more automated checks and balances into the system to help. Please send me any information on that article and I can also edit or delete it from the system as well, so that it is not an issue for others. I am sorry it happened, but as you can understand in a community setting, there will be some snags. If it is that bad, I do not expect you to disrupt the flow of your site. Delete it.

3) Yes, those are the categories I told the database are related. These will stay in the database as related no matter how large the parenting cateogry becomes, as the same with all categories have at least one related category. This helps to make sure there is something there. It also helps with the random rotation as well. I have certain algo running in the backround to help with rotation and randomness.

I hope that helps.

Hey Greg, I just had a couple of comments/questions/suggestions about articles. First of all, I've had a couple of articles appear on my sites where the title appeared with spintax and I had to edit it. This suggests that spinning doesn't work in the title field. It would be great if it did, but if it doesn't, I think it has to be clear to people not to spin the titles. I wasn't sure about this and submitted an article with a spun title, so the same thing probably happened to whoever published that one. I know it's possible, because I also submit articles through Dominic Tan's directory submitter and titles can be spun. Not really a big deal, but it must look funny to people who don't know what spinning is, lol.

Also, like another poster, the formatting for some of the articles is bizarre, with some kind of coding, at least that's what it looks like to me. So there seems to be some kind of formatting problem, though I know almost nothing about codes myself.

All in all, it looks like a great plug-in. There are bound to be issues with something new.
I also have a couple of suggestions for new categories, if there's enough demand.
Tattoos...and also more specific entertainment categories like music and movies.

Okay silly question, but I just bought this plugin, and I don't know where to download it. I got the confirmation email but there's no link. Where can I download it?

EDIT: Oh I neglected to click 'return to merchant' on the paypal page... but now I can't get to it. You should include the link in your confirmation email.

Hey Larry,

Thank you for the purchase and the comments.

I will look into the title spinning. The titles are supposed to spin. I suppose the operative word there is 'supposed'. lol

It could easily be a formatting issue on the part of the user. I found a few that were missing the curly bracket at the end causing it to publish 'funny'.

I think I will work on a video of spinning techniques for everyone.

Tattoos, music, movies....

Very cool category ideas!

Since I already have an 'Arts & Entertainment' category, I just added 2 more...

Music
Movies

Done!

Thank you for contributing!

Hello mkpoway,

Thank you for your purchase.

You should have been redirected to the download page upon purchase,
and then received an email from the database to your PayPal email that also had:

the download link
your username
your API Key

email me at support:
support(at)automaticbacklinkcreator(dot)com

give me your PayPal email address and I will look you up and send you the link, username and API out to you ASAP.

I apologize for this confusion.

Hi Greg
Purchased the plugin. Looks great. One question and it's in relation to the categories. I'm stuck half-way between 2 - travel and sports. Could you add one for 'Winter sports' - this will cover skiing, snowboarding and holidays too. Many thanks!
Another thing - if I post an article or a link can I use affiliate links - if I do, are these cloaked?
Many thanks
Chris

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the purchase. Welcome.
I will consider those categories, you are the first to request them.
YES, you can use affiliate links.

Are these cloaked? If you mean by the plugin, then no. You can cloak them with a URL shortener such as bitly etc. I would recommend it!
