Hi Steve

Thanks for your instructions--I followed them exactly as you told me. The file is also called keneb.pds.pdf. So I changed to to kneb.pdf and when the drop down box came down and the file name was a *.xps file and document was XPS (*.xps) and I can't even save it.

I have spent hours and hours on this--about 2 hours today and I am so frustrated I could slit my throat. I have anxiety and depression and even a double dose of the pills aren't helping. I have downloaded numerous pdfs and NEVER HAD A TROUBLE. Maybe I'll try purchasing it again and see if I get the download page and try again. Everyone else has been able to download it so I don't know what the problem is.

I also feel very badly about the things I wrote in here about Kneb. I will write an apology soon.

If you already have your's downloaded is it possible to scan it or make a copy and mail it to me if you are in the States. Of course I will pay for all your costs but I don't know if I can take this frustration any longer and I do want his course and his coaching.

Well Halaluya (sp) I finally got this to print -. I spent about an hour playing around with my printer, changing all kinds of settings and finally got it to print. I don't know why I had to do this but I really don't care because it's printing the document.

Kneb, I have been going thru your posts and I can't believe how much help you are giving everyone. Amish Shaw sent me a book--along with a Hershey candy bar--yum, called the GoGiver. It is about going "above and beyond the expectations of everyone you have contact with. You are the epitome of a GoGiver and I am privileged to be learning from you.

I'm very glad to hear that you were able to resolve the issue and print out Kneb's Public Domain Secrets!

We've all experienced a little frustration at times with the Internet & computers. Believe me when I tell you that I have spent hours and hours during my lifetime troubleshooting computer related hardware and software issues, and I'd consider myself an advanced user. So don't sweat it. Everyone goes through it to one degree or another.

Forgot to mention, I have purchased the book (from my wife's account) and must say it is a marvellous read.

Time for me to go and implement.

By the way, for all the questions by others on whether public domain can make money.

2 years back, when we were just playing with the Internet and implementing ideas that we love rather than make a business (business was not the objective at that time of ours), we had made a website having public domain classics - tons of it - I had written some Java crawlers to crawl and save the mfrom the Internet, and then format and upload them.

We then decided to run Adsense just to avoid paying for the site from our pockets and also to recover the domain costs. And guess what? That happened to be our first money from the Internet. And the money is still rolloing in almost passively form that. This was waaaaaay before I was a Warrior, forget knowing Kneb or anything of his works.

Give me 2 more years and I shall earn a significant passive amount from the site - I am earning but not a tremendous sum.

So in other words, we made money with it even while we were not trying to. Can you now imagine, what could possibly happen if we tried to make money?

By the way, this is in spite that we are from a cheap country India, where printing old books and hoping to get them read may be a challenge with old books of good condition being sold second hand on the roadside at around $1-$1.20 types (India is cheap in some regards still). Again, who knows, that may come to my advantage just in case I spot some gem and buy it for free or buy a number of old books on which I have a gutfeel that it may become a gem and be right on one of my 4-6 purchases !!

If you want to make money and willing to work for it, Kneb's WSO is pure gold.

I'm interested in buying your product, but as a novice with PD I have a question.
You have a link to "The emergence of advertising in America" but when I looked at the website I noticed it says that the books can only be reproduced for private use or educational purposes.
It also said that they cannot be used for commercial purposes, am I misiing something!

Hi. I am a happy buyer of Kneb's Public Domain WSO. Since its taken so long for Kneb to get his updated version of this PD WSO out, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on Kneb to fulfill his promise of a coaching program. Especially since at least one promised date of the updated version has come and passed.

This is not a knock against Kneb as he has apparently had serious challenges with his health. I have been there. I would guess Kneb has some delayed contractual obligations to catch up on involving much more money than sales of this WSO represents that they have to take priority over getting the WSO update out. Its just the fact of things.

If you have not purchased the current version, its one the the better $49 you will spend if you "use" the information. Life knocked me off course with my plans for this. But that isn't Kneb's fault. However, a few links in the current version are dead. I'm sure the updated version will correct this. Also, the current bonuses offered aren't outdated nearly worthless junk products that often comes with core digital product offers. I hope this helps.

I'm not sure if I'm on Kneb's list or not, but I did buy this WSO and I'm pretty sure the update is not out yet. I'm looking forward to the update and the coaching, but in the mean time the content in Kneb's book is quite interesting and eye-opening if you are as new to public domain information as I was. Now I see it everywhere and recognize it as such.

I'm curious to see what Kneb has to offer next.

Yeah... this is something usual with 70% of the sites that publish PD materials online... they just say you can´t use "their" material for commercial purposes.

They are simply trying to scare and fool visitors... ignorant of PD laws and copyright laws on old works...

The truth is that they CAN´T forbid anything related to use of PD works...

The law of PD works is just to use it as you want, no restrictions, no limitation, no nothing...


Now you KNOW, you are not longer ignorant:


1. Any work published in the USA before 1923 is clearly in the Public Domain.

2. 90% of works (mainly books) published between 1923-1963 are in the Public Domain, except if they renewed the copyright status in the 28th year, from its publication (only 10 to 15% of works were actually renewed).


That´s all about it (most of it).


PS: all the books appearing on the site are in the Public Domain, and you can use them WITHOUT any restrictions.

You can take them and publish them on Amazon by tomorrow.

And they are not worthless books whatsoever... they are truly gems (regarding to advertising and sales copy).

I used to copy paste them into blogs and adsense sites for easy recurring income, as well for featured articles and publishing compilations of the contents (as Dan Kennedy and other famous sales copy experts make)...

They won´t recognize it publicly, though

Oh yes... I know that site VERY well... (I can´t disclosure how well I know it)

That site is THE perfect example of an easy PD business (digital + physical).

I was ready to include a special mention to this site in the (real coming soon) next Update, so Sage... did you read my mind, or what?

Good sharing, btw, perfect example of what I teach:

1. Great and simple design (offline design, not e-books poorly cover designs).

2. Clear layout.

3. Republish forgotten (and famous) classics, in any niche.

This is how I started (offline), and many of my friends, partners, and first members of my coaching did and still do.

This is SO easy to setup... and it´s nearly automatic, and fun.

And believe me, you are doing a great service to humanity, by republishing old and maybe forgotten classics of literature, and forgotten wisdom from old essays on nearly every interesting (and obscure) topic...


Just re-read and consult my Book again after cheking that site, and you will have a new vision of the overall picture, and a revamped drive to create big and cool things from PD materials...

Make it happen.

Of course I am the same guy from the War Room thread who never managed to dig deep enough into his own (and his wife's) site after collecting all the gems practically on auto-pilot from the Web - who else would I be? Any other smart marketer (who markets and sells; rather than sits back, watches and enjoys like I do) would make his millions by now and vanish into his castle!

As I said, I still remember the days when I helped her make the site. Now that one being one of the biggest sites around, it had taken me a bit of solid work to build. That was made purely from passion. So imagine the thrill when I realized that running Adsense would make money, and then I ran it, and that led to my first ever Adsense income - my first ever online cheque. In fact, that is the only place (barring some outdated blog posts that I don't care about) that I anyway run Adsense, and again I crossed $100 this month (and have done that several times in the meanwhile) and expecting a cheque from them !! I know other companies are literally built upon exactly what I do (but they run it a little professionally rather than relaxing and chilling it out like me) and earn huge profits - probably into six figures per month is my own guess, or it may be high five figures per month - who knows! For me, as always, this is purely on a no-work mode - I had set the site up in Dec 2007 on a fee hosting and then moved to paid hosting in March (22nd?) 2008. Couple of years of pure relaxation and pure focus on other areas while my pilor has been running. I did do a little backlinking to 2 pages (out of 75,000-odd) later. One was to the home page and another to my personal favorite novel (didn't care much about the search volume since it was done again mostly from passion) - I never tried to be a smart marketer on that - if I did, I know I would have made hundreds of thousands easily. Looking back, I seriously think at times that this is what I should do. And by the way, guess where passion can take you? I got spontaneous backlinks from places like Uni N. C. and Intute.ac.uk just to name a couple of many. I remember some .edu PDF document (wish I had saved it) at end 2009 or so discussing some of the websites of the world from the design aspect, and there was our website, one of the ~50, being discussed. I was sloppy on the HTML, so lol, it was discussed as a badly designed website (huge prestige that was, since it was discussing only world class websites and the next badly designed website they discussed after ours was myspace.com along with well-designed websites such as google.com). Does that tell something? Yes, PD is gold. Pure gold.

But I realize, people using your WSO needs to literally take in less than 1% of what I did and be a little smart (following your guidelines again) if they want to make 5 figure per month, or maybe high 4 figures.

A Quick question to yourself or any other informed person ...........

I am interested in a UK illustrator's work ( died in 1950 -so the UK copyright is good until 2020, as I understand it).
I can obtain pre 1923 books published in the US ( first edition) which use some of his illustrations.
If I purchase these texts, would I have full public rights to sell copies of these illustrations, or would the UK limits apply to his material

I want to gather vintage posters and put them on a mini site for sale. I don't have a clue how to do it!

I have found some images that I can download in high res, but, how do I go from there to having a poster that someone can buy? Am I offering the high res image that they have to download and have printed somewhere?

As far as I know, you would be free to use the photos as well. So long as they aren't trademarked like Coke, as you mentioned. Although I'm not fully clear on what the situation would be if they were something like Coke. Does anyone else know about that?

What type of url's do you use to advertise your books and do you use different ones or just stick to one. I was thinking of classicoutofprintbooks.com but don't know if that is too long or a good domain. Any advice? Has anyone heard when Kneb is going to start his coaching program.

Jean, your domain name really depends upon what you are going to do. There are so many aspects to PD that you need to know that first. Have you checked to see if it is available? If you have a solid idea how you want to use PD then perhaps you should just go ahead and register a domain - even if you are not ready yet. It would be a shame if your name was available now but somebody else takes it while you are preparing your site.

Kneb will be ready when he is ready..............just take action based on what you have. If you are able to get into his coaching at some point I doubt that your experiences in taking action will be in vain. At the very least you will be learning something.

Hi Ruth,

First of all you have to find the images in High Res (.tiff format), or just convert them to a HR format (outsource it).

Then you can just leverage some of the available online services, where you just upload the design and they create the actual product and ship them to your buyers, such as:

CustomDropshipper.com

and

Zazzle.com

(there are more and maybe better options, but both are real good to start)

You had the same problem I did a year and a half ago when I bought the guide. You are trying to figure out what to get from the PD to sell. The masters here will tell you that you have to start with what you can prove that people want to buy then go to the PD to find it. Package it right and then sell it. I am not sure that you need a coaching program for that.

Find a niche that wants something, then go look for a nugget in the PD to satisfy it. You probably have the most common sense, down to earth guide that there is. Use it. The reason that it is so cool is that the information will be helpful to the customer but you did not write it. But you do have to dig to find a nugget. That is the work.

The work will be worth it once you do and since you are really helping people, you should have no problem asking for a premium price. You will deserve it. You did the work to dig to find answers, and since most people are too lazy to do it themselves--you ought to be paid even if they can get it elsewhere. Also if you package it so that they can use it on the go (mobile--hint hint).

Just contact a Warrior who can help you create a digital product on the basis. There are a lot of them; probably some on this thread. I do offer the service, but do not have a sales page for it. But basically, my friend, you do not need a coach. You need to start looking for where a need is..where people are buying and desperate for information. Then go to the PD for the "classic" solution.

Look at some niche marketing threads in the War Room. Find a couple of niches, then go digging with Kneb's guide. There is plenty and you do not have to rush. You are not in competition with anybody. When others move in you just create more value.

I will be happy to coach you but it will not be cheap because I have a business model that would be interrupted if I coached you on this. You really don't need it though my sister. There is nothing that I would tell you through skype that you could not easily learn right here. You need to get off of the Warrior Forum for a little while (as I am doing) and get some work done.

Here is what I suggest: stop waiting for Kneb to offer his coaching. I believe he is about a year behind when he first said he would offer it. I am sure it will be ready one day but, if you wait, you are not doing anything.

Go back and re-read the report. When you get to a part that thrills you, re-read it again. Then do some searches on whatever the topic is. Go through all the sites that Kneb has listed regarding the subject........and do something.

thanks Harper, I have always considered myself a good getter and went out and found my way my self. I have never felt so inept since I started IM. I am not a quitter but I did start taking anxiety pills since I started this. I hope I can do this without ending out in the psych ward!

LOL!!! I hear you Jean. IM is a weird industry to be in. I find it very hard to grasp: the 'story' of what works changes with each post you read, and, someone will post saying they haven't made a dime but their sig will be promoting a product called 'how I made a million in a week'!!!

I, to, am very much looking forward to Kneb's coaching, but, I have come to realise Kneb will deliver when it's ready, not when I want/need it.

Probably the best public domain product I've ever seen....and I've seen most of them. I actually purchased this months ago...and lost it when the vintage dell computer shot "snake eyes" on me.

Good enough I will probably go ahead and buy it again...as the links alone will save you hundreds of hours in terms of searching.

One of the few WSO's that get my highest recommendations.
