I originally purchased this from you back when you first offered it and would like to know if this is the same or how much it has changed since you first came out with it. It has sat on a hard drive since I bought it but after reading Dennis Becker's email, I've been thinking about taking another look at PD stuff. Is there new material you cover like creating content from PD for Kindle?

I brought your PD WSO November 2009. I won't rehash the tons of accolades about how great a piece of work it is. I think anyone who takes the time to read most of the posts will get the idea of how much value this WSO offers.

However, I will comment on how creatively and beautifully designed your ebook presentation of your PM model is. I remember being wowed by all of the images which were sourced 100% from the PD treasure trove. Over two years later your ebook still holds the title as the best designed pdf ebook I have ever laid my eyes on, putting most others to shame.

I can't deny my disappointment with the delays involved in getting this latest updated version into my hands. I believe my purchase was an update of your original WSO offered in 2008. It looks like this one is really coming through on Dec. 7th and frankly I am over joyed at the opportunity to see how you have improved upon on what is one of the best WSOs I have ever purchased. In this case, its appropriate to say "invested" in.

I am currently in an eight week PD coaching program by a man who is a master of the PD niche like you are. I think between his coaching and your update, I will be absolutely dangerous "if" I put things into action.

While many core things will overlap, you are different persons who will present things in the PD universe from your particular fruitful perspectives. It is this synergy of creative juices from two PD masters of the game that I am looking forward to experiencing starting on December 7th.

To be fair to the poster, the update has been promised for months, if not years now. You can see that just by reading the posts in this thread. Continual broken promises tend to frustrate a lot of people.

That said, you are very much correct. There is so much material in this course, and so many ways to build your own business, that you really don't need an update. Just dig in, engage your brain, and take action.

Whether Kneb ever updates will not bother me in the least. I bought this a year ago and his ideas helped me branch off into another profitable income stream. For that I'm grateful.

I have a question for all of you who have been doing this or studying PD works. I have read this report multiple times, but I want to be clear on something.

Project Gutenberg specifically. All of those works can be distributed for FREE with the PG name, but am I right in saying that if I remove all the gibberish before and after the works themselves, it is mine to use freely?

There is so much garb on their site about how you can use it ANYWAY for free, but charging for it changes the rules. I would assume that as long as we aren't using their name, we can use the content. I mean, it is out there SOMEWHERE in the PD. I did read somewhere that they protect their HTML formatting or something like that, but without buying a converter, most do not have PDF downloads, they are for epub or Kindle, etc. (Unless I am missing something.)

Any advice would be appreciated.

I believe, as do many on this forum, that your word is ALL that matters in the end. A reputation on a forum is EVERYTHING. As such, you should ALWAYS honor a commitment made in writing to those that have purchased your product. To fail them is to fail yourself.

There is so much info in the original document that an update is icing on the cake. You can eat your fill without it and it's still very tasty and satisfying.

If you are desperate to get the update I wonder if you have taken any action on the original. If you haven't yet taken action, getting the update isn't going to make a difference.

In the full scheme of things, we already have much more than we paid for. Chill.

I purchased this product over two years ago, according to my records, paying $49.00 for it.

It offers dozens of resources for public domain content in the form of text, music, photographs, graphics...essentially anything you might want to use to repurpose for your own products, and since it's content that's in the Public Domain, it's free for you to use. A Public Domain Secret is a well laid-out, attractive product. The pdf is full of interesting graphics and examples.

Having said that, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect Kneb to follow through with an updated version of the product, especially since he has been promising one since 2008. I realize that people have unexpected events that happen in their lives and that we should be able to have patience and to show compassion for someone who's having difficulties, but at what point should someone buckle down and do what they say they're going to do.

There are numerous references throughout this thread about the update being "almost ready" and being actually "ready". Please take a look below. These can be found by doing a simple search of the thread. They include quotes from Kneb, as well as quotes from people on his mailing list. The quotes that indicate that the update is ready usually indicate that programming problems with the member's area or forum are delaying the release. If the pdf is truly complete, why not make that available now and offer anything else once it is ready?

There´s a new big Update coming up next December, 7th.
If you are on my list, you will be properly notified : )

Obviously, Kneb never had to offer a free update to this product, but he did. Some product creators do and some don't. Others offer previous customers discounted prices on updated versions of their products. That is all at their discretion. The problem now, in my opinion, is that Kneb has discounted the price at least twice, encouraging people to buy now so that they can secure the future update for free, the implication being that the updated product will be more expensive for new customers who haven't already purchased.

Also, I believe that whether or not someone who owns the product has done anything with the content is irrelevant. This thread isn't about the purchasers of the product, it's about the product and it's creator and his commitment to customer service. This seems to be brought up each time someone posts about whether or not the update is going to be delivered.

I am sorry for the health problems that Kneb has gone through and I'm glad for him that he has recovered. This could happen to any us and may have already to some. My brother once suffered an aneurysm and it took over a year to get our lives back on track, so I understand. Sometimes you have to let things go. However, problems that relate to running his business, such as server problems or programming issues, are not the problems of his customers.

Just to be clear, this is a very good product. You will find numerous sources for public domain content, as well as ideas on how to use it and niches that are evergreen. It is easily worth $9.99, but you might not want to let the prospect of a future update weigh too heavily on your decision to purchase it.

I must admit this doesn't look good. Kneb keeps selling the old material and now offered a Black Friday special price. I also received an offer to be an affiliate which I won't do until I see the new product. Media is right...the update and coaching have been promised for quite some time. I think if it's not produced this week there will be complaints to Mike and Warriorforum. I'd hate to see Kneb banned.

Just an FYI. Still waiting for a reply from Kneb. I emailed him asking why the latest date for the update had come and gone once again. No reply there either. I think what people don't realize is that Kneb has been promising an updated document and free coaching for YEARS. He then disappeared for months and returned to say he had been sick but was well and back again. I suspect the $9.99 document is the same one we got several years ago. What the people who purchased this document years ago are waiting for is the revised and updated document. That's all.

Michael, if you are doing so well on wall St, why are you trying to make a living from IM, well know to be a hard market to break in to. If you did so well on WS it's because you saw opportunities and jumped in. What Kneb offers in his existing document should double or triple your wealth if you are such a hot shot.

You only joined this month and are full of ****. If you, with all of your worldly intelligence and expertise can't make big $$ from Kneb's WSO then you are fooling yourself. $10 to a WS hotshot is just the price of a burger... but this is a gold burger...so do yourself a favor and go bluster somewhere else.

I am absolutely amazed at the number of people complaining about not getting the update. Where have you ever found a PDF document that has 283 pages and is 64 MB? The PDF alone is a work of art. An update is simply icing on the cake.

And the fact that people are actually talking about complaining to the WF about Kneb is beyond belief. When a person purchases a WSO, they're buying the original document, not an updated version. The fact that Kneb has mentioned the update is almost ready is irrelevant.

I paid $49 two years ago and would pay that much again in a second to get the info that this report contains. I know Kneb has had health problems the last several years, and hopefully his health has returned.

At any rate, if we get the update, great, but if not, I don't really care. There is enough info in the original document to last a lifetime!

I'm finding myself a bit concerned not so much that the update hasn't arrived [though I am a bit disappointed in that], but that Kneb hasn't been around to give any reason why. I remember the medical issues that came up for him previously, and I'm hoping he's ok.

But I have a question for mish_h & chemo38, meant as an honest question: have you tried to do any projects using the original materials Kneb had in his WSO? If so, how did they go? And if not, maybe try to do a project using those tools and then comment on how that went. Yes there are some updates needed, but there's more than enough good links to get something going.

Has anyone had any luck getting ahold of Kneb?

I just purchased this WSO and when I go to the indicated webpage, there is nothing for me to click on. It says to enter my Name and Email to receive my login details, but there's no fields to enter this info. The page is basically composed of a couple of static images and that's it.

Unfortunately I can't use PM since I have too few posts here; however, I have emailed him but have yet to hear back.

Hi JCT I have no issues at all with the original book, there is a ton of content and links but as the web changes so does what to do with the information and new sites to get content form appear, also some stuff is only hinted at - we are told it will be revealed in the update so I am keen to know what it is, but for $10 its really worth it.

Post 1475 explains the situation well. I bought this thing back in 2008 and back then the update was almost done and ready for us....

Kneb vanishes for ages, then comes back gives us the same basic story with a twist each time.

By the way, ANYTHING from Tony Laidig is pure GOLD. I have a TON of free and purchased material from this PD genius. By the way, I also do have Tony's Public Domain Code books, as well as his Public Domain Blueprint and many, many other books from him.

I ended up purchasing books from Tony shortly after buying from Kneb's WSO here back in 2008. So, basically, I didn't waste my time by "WAITING" on Kneb's update. Once I got my hand on Kneb's Public Domain book, I spent the next few years searching for everything and anything on Public Domain --- resources, books, software, websites, etc., etc.

I don't know what to say here. I mean, I feel really bad for people that thought that Kneb held the keys to the Public Domain Kingdom and have put their projects on hold --- waiting for the update. It's really quite sad, actually.

Anyway, I hope people will stop waiting for Kneb's update and get on with their own sleuthing (detective work). There's a huge mountain of Public Domain works out there at everyone's fingertips --- just waiting to be discovered and re-purposed!
