Anyone have any opinions on what themes may be best suited for the plug in?

Hey Don, Jeremy, Andres,

I don't know if I did something wrong or if using a sub-domain is hurting my rankings. After I purchased local page ninja on the 25th, the following day I put up a site using a sub-domain just to test and see how long it would take to get high rankings and how many 1st page rankings. It took about 6 days before my site even got indexed even though I pinged it and submitted an rss feed, I didn't want to spend to much time or money for backlinks on a test site. When I go to google to check it's indexing I am only showing 3 results. I notice on your delawaredentistx.com site you are showing 10 pages of results. Now I did 71 cities and I used pages not posts, does it take time to get all the pages indexed? Should I have used posts? I know this isn't an SEO product but could you give a little advice, I am getting bummed out reading all the successes (not that I am not happy for other folks) but I am frustrated. I haven't used the updated plugin yet until I figure this out first.I see there is a new upgrade coming out, is this a paid upgrade or part of the first purchase?

My opinion...

Use posts... they will always get indexed faster.
Wordpress automatically pings, and many bots know a wordpress blog and will crawl the /feed automatically (RSS Feed) etc...

Make sure the Google XML sitemap plugin is installed

They really just index themselves after that.

Pages are often way slower on a blog for getting indexed though.

When we use pages we really only use them for:

• Contact Us
• Disclaimer
• Terms of Service
• About Us

Type pages...

I went ahead and ran the new plugin and I ran posts instead of pages, it made all the posts for the cities I inputted but I noticed 2 things. 1 is for some reason it made 6 posts for just the state and then all the rest of the posts are city and state. 2 when I view 1 of the post and then click on the category tab in the menu it goes to just 1 city, which is the last city shown in the all posts page in wordpress. Where should it point to? I limited 1 post per page.

I just bought this and it looks great so far.

But can you guys create some type of tutorial on how to make money with this plugin? Like how to find a niche, keywords, and domain name to use with this plugin. I would buy it as an upsell if you did.

Also, how important is the domain name for ranking? Is it necessary to have an exact match domain or your keyword in the domain name?

Wondering if it would be OK to use a spun article as the static page and then just use posts for all the local pages. Would this hinder the ranking and indexing?

I downloaded the update and installed. Created short code for city and Province (i am in Canada). Loaded 215 cities and put in the appropriate 215 provinces. Local Page fully optimized. every time i click on Build pages / post button, i end up with a server error time out. My WP is hosted on GoDaddy. Also reduced the number of cities to 100. same thing happened (time out, Internal server error). Any ideas on how to address

Could be another plugin you have that's causing issues. Do happen to have w3 cache or some other caching plugin? If so just disable while you're building pages and turn it back on when you're done.

If you don't have other plugins then it's probably the hosting. I'm pretty sure godaddy is windows based which makes wordpress run a bit slower.

Hey guys and gals,

I'm having a hard time with my first post. Stayed up till 5am working on this. Finally submitted a ticket but posting to see if anyone can offer suggestions here. I did copy my article from MS Word and used the HTML feature in my new post. I used {city} for my tag and made sure there were no spaces, capitalization, etc. Still my post won't show my city names at all.

I searched on the forum and saw that maybe I shouldn't have copied from Word. I copied that text into Notepad++ and then put it back into my draft post and it still won't show city names. I hit save draft a few times and it still won't show up.

Right now I'm going to delete that post and start fresh after I watch Andres setup video again and I'll watch Don's video too. I'm trying to work it out on my own but if anyone has overcome the same problem please let me know what other steps I can try.

Hey Jeremy or Latinguy, would you give us an update as to when the monetization videos will be up? I have some questions and think the videos would answer them. I have the first version of the plugin on a site that's been live for about 5 days now and I don't have a single post ranking in google. I just need to figure out what I've done wrong and fix it.

Rankings are one thing but what about traffic results? Here's some from a client test site.

Those of us doing this for clients need to show rankings and traffic to keep getting paid. I ran analytics on the client site I installed this on for a local service (pretty competitive in my city for the niche).

Traffic has doubled in a week, 89% is new visitors and the majority of the increase has been from the local city keyword search - {city} service name and service name {city}.

Now I'm going to my old posts written around different long-tails, spinning them and re-posting with this plugin. If I can dominate the page 1 upper fold without creating more videos and SEO, my life just became a whole lot easier!

Subdomains are completely fine, I use them all the time so it doesn't interfere with the layout of the current site.

1. Make sure in your city list, there's no blank lines at the end.

2. Since you do have it limited to 1 post per page, then that's correct. It's not going to show all the posts in that category, just the latest one.


I'm pretty sure when you get pingbacks, it means that someone has linked back to your site/page. I don't think it's the same thing as Wordpress sending a ping everytime a post is created.

Go to your shortcodes setup page and check you have it right there. That's where I made my mistake. On the shortcode setup:

Use this: city
Not this: {city}

Sorry 1 more question. You say to limit your posts to 200 to 400 cities. If you have lets say 1000, how do you split them up. Do you enter all of them in your city list manager and then when it asks how many posts to create do you put like 300 and then when those are done you run 300 again? Or how do you do it?

Andres, thanks for the very quick support email. I did indeed include brackets when I named my short code. Took that out and the posts started showing up. But now, I have double the amount of posts for the number of cities I put in. I went with 400 and I have 800 posts total. I noticed the second 400 posts have no title but everything else is the same. I think I hit build pages before putting my title in. I hit the stop button on my browser and then added in the title so that may be why I have 800 posts. I'll go through and delete them. Hopefully the bulk delete plugin will help with that.

I use Thesis and was having this problem too, so I installed All in One SEO (I know, it's redundant). I filled out both sets of SEO slots (titles, descriptions, keywords) and it's working fine now.

I've read through so much of this thread without finding an answer to my simple question so I'm hoping someone can help me out...

I am a bit of newbie when it comes to WP and am only just starting to get my head around how to use this plugin to its fullest potential. To make it easier on myself I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible while I test the method out.

I have an EMD for dentists in my local area and want to start off by ranking this one site and leasing it out. I've installed WP and the local page plugin to my domain but what next...?

Maybe create a single post for this domain? Do I still use the shortcodes etc? Or have I just misunderstood the whole concept?

And is this plugin actually doing something to improve rankings or is it 'just' making it easier to target multiple areas in record time due to the shortcodes? I am only asking this because if it isn't helping my test site to rank then wouldn't I be better off just using a normal wordpress blog to rank my local dentist EMD?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S a HUGE thank you to all the warriors that have lent their knowledge to this amazing thread, I think this thread is a brilliant example of why this is the best IM forum ever!

Need any idea to optimize homepage, if anyone build 100+ posts at once, your first and next 10+ page will be full with duplicate content (layout also).

I think about try to create one batch with one different category. Is there any plug-in or method to hide almost of these post or show up just 1 post from all of them? :confused:

The plugin simply allows you to post multiple posts or pages for different areas on Google Local. The competition here is not so fierce so you normally get a good ranking from a keyword phrase. On most local sites SEO is lacking. The plugin does not use some mysterious SEO tactic. It's up to you to optimize the page or post in the draft before saving.

However, in your case Central London I doubt you will get Page 1 rankings without a little extra work, especially if using London Dentist, areas are a better option, like Hampstead Dentist, Soho Dentist etc. A few decent back links will do it if you have problems.

You would not be better off with a normal blog because the plugin will post hundreds of pages in minutes meaning more rankings for the keyphrase used.

People are still going on about "duplicate content" forget it it's a myth just post the same content with a different City name. If you set the WP Posts to 1 only one will appear per page.

Sometimes it's better to cut your losses and start over fresh.

Why don't you delete everything that you know isn't working, do a fresh install of WP, add ONLY the plugins mentioned since the update i.e. Google XML Sitemap. Reread the PDF, watch the latest video by Andres a couple times in full screen mode so you can see what is and isn't 'curly bracketed', take a deep breath and be comfortable with the fact that you have done everything correctly. If it isn't working after trying this, then you can proceed with questions to resolve your issues. Nobody is going anywhere, we will still be here to answer the questions that might arise. I'm confident that after starting fresh, and yes.... losing a couple few days progress that you will be much further ahead then you would be by trying to bandage a broken site.

Version 1.5 has been released!

1. You should now have much less trouble with character encoding screwing up your spinning.
2. Page templates and post templates etc... should work now for you.
3. Exclude pages plugin and many other plugins that were available for the normal post or page sections is now available in Local Pages.
4. Titles can now be spun!

And some other odds and ends...

You can click the upgrade option in your Local Pages menu.
If it doesn't show you the update is available. You can deactivate and delete the current one installed and download the new one from:

Yes, we will - Because of the updates to the plugin, the testing that had to be done, and the mountain of support, I havn't gotten some of the video work that I wanted to get done, that was going to be included with the bonus plugin...

Now that it's "slowed down" a little bit, I'm going to block off a few hours tomorrow to get all that wrapped up, and available for you guys - We only wanted to do that part of it ONCE instead of delivering it in pieces just to keep the process somewhat organized.

I'd give the same advice you got above....Kind of start over.

It sounds like you have a lot "going on" with the site you are describing, so it's kind of hard for me at least to pin point what the issue is.

The "original" plugin was designed to be simple.

Install it
Load your cities or whatever you want
Insert your content
done

With the updates now, there are a few other options...actually quite a few, so it's better to take it slow, and maybe even go step by step along with Andres video - pausing it as you do what he is doing, so you can see exactly what is going on.

Of course, we are here to help you when you need it though, so feel comfortable in the fact that if you have questions, we've got your back....as it appears that many active participants in this thread do as well (THANKS GUYS AND GALS!)

Thank you CD, I really appreciate your explanation. The domain I have is an 'area' domain rather than a generic London one but there are a few things I'm unsure of.

1. If i want to rank my 'area'dentist.co.uk domain, are you suggesting that I post multiple posts on the homepage of that blog?

2. If I only want to rank this one local area domain, would I simply be spinning the same article multiple times and posting it for the same keyword?

3. What is the difference between the 'build post/page' button and the 'publish' button in my WP dashboard?

4. If I want to lease my first site to a local dentist, am I able to change the content in the posts to reflect my clients business without losing my ranking?

Well actually the plugin should notify people about 24 hours after the update is added. Just telling people here so if they see it now, they can get it instead of checking manually or waiting for the plugin to say there is an update.

New updates are great. Also had a bit of a technical problem with the last update and was really impressed with the way it was dealt with by Andres in double quick time.

One thing though Jeremy could you just say a little bit about what additional steps you are taking once you have made the post/page?

Are you pinging the sitemap?
Are you bookmarking the individual posts or creating an RSS feed for these?
Are you backlinking to the domain or the individual post?

I will say it's hard to come in on a 20-something page thread and have questions that have probably already been asked and answered. I know for myself that I often don't have the time to read through a massive thread to get a question answered. Of course, you can then end up looking like an idiot to the people who have been participating all along.

It's hard to do customer service in the best of cases, and particularly hard when you're dealing with a wide range of skill and experience sets. In any event, I commend the development team for their incredible patience and dedication to doing a truly great job supporting this plugin!

I just don't understand why people still post questions and queries in a thread that is so large.

As a WSO buyer I know the feeling of not having an answer to a question. And in my mind all questions are important. But, at this point I have a decision to make... Either search the thread for the answer...Or ask a question in the thread.....I have absolutely no problem with people positing their questions, but when somebody posts a question that has been asked or referenced a dozen times without first looking for an answer then I do have a problem..... Ultimately technology is sweet!

Something else that I have observed in this thread and this thread ever, is the fact that more ('newbies' (low posters)) have purchased (or said that they have purchased) this WSO then any other WSO that I have been a participant of....... Ultimately this is a good sign for Jeremy, Andres and Don... To gather this much 'newbie' attention is a testament to the plugin unto itself.

You are right, sir! One can simply search the thread for answers. The problem is, most folks don't even think of doing so. I know I didn't when I first got to the WF (for shame, for shame). Besides, with a crew like this thread has, you get your question answered quickly and politely, no matter how "dumb" or how many times it's been asked. Sorta works against us here, doesn't it?

Looks like Zerofill may be lurking so will have a go at getting this answered - and my apologies (especially to MisterE - may he rest in peace) if it has been answered already. I have tried every which way to check before asking again .. but here goes.

How do we use Core Conversion with LPN? Do we have to do each post individually after it has been created? Both awesome products (thank you) and together they will be amazing. I have a number of sites ready to go once this is answered.
