What happens if you are using categories in LPN to separate states...my url would look like:
http://mydomain.com/redwidgets/ where redwidgets is the category. If you disallow categories and tags would I be defeating the purpose and no cc lightboxes will show up?

Sorry to hear this didn't work for you man.

• Did you try for a lot of local keywords?
• Did you give Google time to find your posts?
• Are you sure you flat-out didn't get any results?

I've noticed that quite often 60% or more of my posts don't get indexed at first, or at all (so it seems). And it doesn't seem to make sense, though I'm sure if I knew Google's black magic through and through, I'd have a better idea of the "why."

Though I haven't been using LPN very long, it seems as if there are some keywords that Google is really stubborn about, even though there will be others in the same mass posting that jump right onto page one! This is even true for words that (seem to) have the same level of competition. So, go figure.

Jeremy recommends not focusing on any pages that don't rank on page one to begin with, so mayhap you were throwing good links onto bad pages from the start?

Well, I dunno if any of this helps, but I hope so. At any rate, best of luck to you.

Yes tried local keywords. Some of the search terms had under 55,000 pages in total. I ranked on page 3.

Most of the pages were indexed just didn't rank. Gave them a couple of weeks to see if any movement and there wasn't.

I've got a problem and I think it's with categories.

My permalinks:

/%category%/%postname%/

LLP builds the pages fine, they show in widgets, RSS, and blog loop page.... but click any of these links and I get a 404.


Very, very strange... where the hell are the pages if not where the permalink is?

Not only that, I've tried manually looking for the posts by removing the category names from the permalinks, no good.

I'm using twenty-ten, and I only have one other plug-in on the site: akismet

I got it working without the category in the permalink.... but I was hoping to have categories, because it makes indexing 3 times faster.

Core Conversion does not IFrame , it shows the offer page or landing page of the offer.
You can even rotate offers to test it out.

Core Conversion is a light box so it's completely white hat for CPA. It does not IFrame.

I noticed the same thing. I've only posted 86 cities back on the 8th ran them through seo fast indexer and let 'em sit. on the 15th 17 pages were indexed, on the 16th 27, on the 17th 100+ 0n the 18th back to 27 and today it's at 64. An I aint even getting any decent waltz music.

It'll balance out soon and all will be indexed, till then I'm waiting to monetize the site.

That is, indeed, very, very strange.

I'm structuring my LPN sites the same way (category/postname), and they're working fine—and I'm running a ton of plugins, too.

Perhaps a deactivation/reactivation might clear it. Maybe there's a glitch with the plug. I've noticed that sometimes it can get confused. For instance, there have been times where I've deleted builds and the plugin still thinks the pages are there. It sounds like the plug thinks the pages are there, but they're really not.

Are your builds actually showing in Pages/Posts?

Seriously, I've noticed the same sorta thing with a new site. Google giveth, then Google taketh away. Over time, it's "leveled off" with some pages coming back. My traffic is steadily going up, though some pages persistently refuse to be indexed. Your results may vary. Ahem.

I'm following Jeremy's advice and just focusing on the pages that are ranking.

Jeremy has answered this quite a few times about duplicate content and I tend to agree. Whether it truly IS duplicate content or not doesn't matter in this case since the goal is ranking.

And you rank based on keywords not the article as a whole, if you get what I mean. So since each post/page is targeting different keywords (ie the different cities), Google sees each post as RELEVANT for the topic at hand, even if what is being said is technically duplicated with the city varying.

Also there isn't a real "penalty" for duplicate content - they just filter the same stuff out so people are not confronted with page after page of search results that all have the same exact content.

But in this case since someone is going to search with a city modifier your content will show up, not being filtered, due to the city modifier. Because it is RELEVANT per city.

Also as Jeremy has said quite a few times, look at directory sites and similiar sites - they say the same thing over and over again (ie duplicate content) but they rank because they have the city modifier. In other words, to google and searchers, Plumber New York is different from Plumber San Diego and thus even if the text of your article is the same by having the variation of New York and San Diego makes it different to the eyes of Google and searchers.

So, if you were to take the same exact content and post it 4 times - even with the city modifiers - yes, Google would probably filter your results so that only ONE instance of that article would show per city.

The upshot - all this duplicate content stuff doesn't matter since in these instances people will search by city and thus you have all those different pages dedicated per city.

For further proof to dispel the duplicate content is an issue myth - I have built subdomains on my twelve city sites. I clone each domain. The content I have for each niche is content I get from Ezinearticles. I copy and paste it exactly (leaving in the original author's bio to keep it "legal"). So that is TOTAL "duplicate" content. Then like said I clone per niche on each site. Let's say I was targeting the niche limo service - I have the articles from ezinearticles appear on all twelve sites (one per city). I don't even change them to reflect the city. It's generic for the niche. And you know what? My sites rank! The main page ranks AND the pages with the articles.

So NOPE Google doesn't really give a rat's ass about duplicate content. Not on the local level like with what LPN helps with.

Have to agree with Stacy on this duplicate content issue. In my mind, and the way we use it with LPN it would make no sense for any of the SE's to discount the content.

TIP sharing

For those who want to rent pages/sell advertising on said pages or get offline clients for SEO/whatever you market, don't forget to take screen shots of your rankings.

I use the freebie screencapture with Jing.com

Fire up Google, put in the search terms you're ranking for, take a screenshot. Cool thing I didn't realize until rather recently and after using Jing for a while - before you save the image (but after you hit capture image) you can add in text, arrows, etc. So capture the screenshot and then put in arrows pointing to your rankings or do a box around your rankings to make them stand out.

Create a page on your site that you send potential clients to called "results" and build your portfolio of your awesomeness.

Much easier to have it all in one place (and to build to it) rather than trying to email people individual images. Just send them the link.

Just a hopefully helpful tip from Aunt Tiger.

Probably is exactly correct. I have kw's that have my sites as top 3 for 3 different modifers of the exact same article. Meaning, search for kw #1, and you'll get article 1, 2, and 3 as the top 3 search results. The article that appears at #1 is for the search kw's modifier. The #2 & #3 page ranks are the exact same article, but for a different city.

And my LPN pages haven't even been indexed yet. These 1, 2, 3 rankings are a result of me TRYING to get the pages & blog indexed. So, I'm still in the camp that if LPN works, it's gonna be cha-ching day every day.

Oh, I was meaning that if say you posted the same article four times and used all the same cities (ie everything was the exact same), Google would probably only show say San Diego Plumber once and filter out the other 3 instances of San Diego Plumber articles.

I have that too, though where I'm trying to rank for one city but will have the same article show up - exact same article but with the different cities.

I know LPN works - it's just that fickle little ass Big G that is the issue. He is taking forever to index a good bit of my stuff. But then other stuff gets indexed (and starts ranking) very quickly.

LOL - I guess that's just the Tiger way. I actually have been really watching my language on the forum. Cussing is like an artform to me. I could probably outswear some sailors. But I do try to limit it to the right time and place.

I have done a test for 7 days with Amazon products, and i have made $32,98 on sales in Amazon, i used niche domain. product name subdomains, and type and number in the post..... you need to figure the rest out yourself

Now i am only lookig for a way to link the right page to the right Amazon product automaticly, i have now done it by hand but that is really time consuming... still wordth it though

I like many others are finding 404 error pages when I copy and paste url of the actual post into a browser. I am using %category%/%postname%/ as my permalink. my URL to post look like this:
http://mydomain.org/uncategorized/xx...in-zzzzzzzzzz/

Not sure how to remedy this issue?

PS - I also have the CC plugin installed and there is no lightbox that shows up. I used posts to build the site and the homepage shows posts and lightbox is not present. If i type in the url of actual post I do not see the lightbox?
The wierd thing is that if I go to post section in WP and click link to view the post created by LPN it shows the lightbox...when I type in URL of post >> no lightbox and 404 error page shows up?

Anyway ,, my site has PR "0" and occupies #1 and #2 positions for mortgages over a professional mortgage site with a PR of "6".

See what I mean,,,, Amazing.

My domain is new with zero backlinks.
However my page is carefully SEO'd.

That was an experimental run, so now I have to master this thing.

Approximately a week.
Rank Tracker was showing mostly Failed in it's results.
Then I had the bright idea to do a manual search and I found a couple of listings then g00gle threw this message at me:

My last blast was for every single city in an entire state.
Without a timeout on HG shared hosting.
Took only approximately 4 minutes to build all pages and post them.
Proxies will really help with this tool.

Hi all...

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this...(I put in a support ticket, but the guys are on holidays...which is well deserved....so I thought I'd ask here!)

One of my sites is using a StudioPress theme with an image slider on the front page. When Core Conversion is activated, images don't load in the slider. Deactivate Core Conversions, and everything returns to normal. (I am using LPN (though not yet), and COre Conversions on this site)

Not real important, I can just replace the slider with a static image, but if any of you know of a quick fix, I'll do it! ( I like the damn site!) If you want a peak at the outside, the site is: approvedcarcredit.org . Core Conversions is currently deactivated, so the slider is working. (Before anybody says anything about me "outing" one of my Niches, I'm not worried...I have a lot of sites, and I'm was good at SEO BEFORE LPN (now, because of LPN, I'm even better! <snicker!> LOL! ....and I never ever worry about competition.)

I haven't run LPN on the site yet because I am still building it...(it's been sitting on a back burner, partially built for months. We do a lot of sites....)

Thanks for any advice. Again, not real important...Just thought I'd run it by everyone to see if there if was a quick fix. If not, Que Sera!

This (the message from Google), has NOTHING to do with your site (or any individual site)...it is directly related to your IP address and number of Google search queries originating from that IP address in a given period of time ...the captcha is to show Google that you are a person, not a "bot"...so you must have really been pounding on them...(or rank tracker was)...without using proxies..

This may be unrelated but I've run into some compatibility issues with CC and Captivator. For example I had to deactivate CC in order to get the upload function in Captivator to work. Then turn CC back on. So, perhaps checking your plugins would be a good place to start.

Seems like we've taken the same approach on cloning sites, spending the time upfront to make things speedy quick later. I used PLR for the first 12 articles (5 subniches) that I did and was planning on going to Ezinearticles for "inspiration" for the next batch I do since I don't think I have PLR for them. I had never thought about just using the article itself! Thanks for that suggestion.

Are you adding an intro or closing paragraph in addition to the article in order to get your targeted keywords on the page or are you truly using ONLY the article?

You must be using an older version of the plug-in. The newer version doesn't build anything until you tell it to "Build Pages/Post".

Nope, I used the articles exactly as is - though I think adding a good intro would probably help. I was just being lazy. lol

Like said, to keep it "legal" I kept in the author's bio and links. Of course, if they targeted something local I just made sure it wasn't the same area as what I was targeting.

Actually I cloned both the main domain and duplicated it across the other 11. Then I do a subdomain and clone it and upload it to the other 11 cities as subdomains. Basically I am doing the same thing times twelve and the only thing that needs to change per site or subdomain is the name of the city.

Each main domain is like a directory site and each subdomain is a specific business type.
