Yep, this is true!

I received some PM-s from people without QR-scanner for link to my sites.
Here are some sites I've made for testing:

The previewer is not perfect. It's just an approximate rendition to help you visualise the site. I always use either my Iphone or my Android to be sure.

There are 2 fields for title. One for the vertical menu buttons, and one for the TopBar so that you can use shorter text to handle the space limitations on the TopBar.

Irene
It is on a Samsung Galaxy s2.

IMPORTANT:
I have done further testing and the issue appears to only happen with the native Android browser. The sites are perfect on an iPhone 4 and also on the Dolphin HD browser that I downloaded on my Samsung. I am not sure what the problem is but this needs to be addressed as most Android users use the native browser and currently it is not acceptable for that.

2 questions:
1) In comparison to the WP Mobile Content Management theme that Quentin released these sites load slower. They need to be sped up a little. What is being done about this? And I am referring to all the sites using this Plugin that I have tested including those posted here. Almost there but need to be quicker.

2) Why is it not possible to have the navigation show up on all pages? Currently it only shows up the homepage despite the shortcode option being available whenever creating a page. I have had clients request this so can you add it?

Thanks and great work!
Btw- the demo sites above look great (except in the native Android browser )

I had another user with an issue viewing things also with a Samsung Galaxy. He told me his daughter's phone showed everything fine, but his Galaxy had some minor issues. (Don't know make of daughter's phone - he didn't say)

In addition, to my Iphone 4, I also have an Android (Sony Ericsson Xperia X8) - well, I did until yesterday - I fell and broke it. I hope to get it repaired next week when things open up after Xmas.

The sites always show fine on my Android using the in-built browser. That Android runs the 1.6 operating system.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to another Android to run any tests.

Irene

I think the Flippa licensing issue needs a bit more thought on your part. Some clients will already own their own domain - which will include any sub-domains or sub-directories associated with that domain. So the only part of the transaction which can be subject to licensing terms is the plugin itself.

Whilst that is technically doable, i think it could get messy. Imagine selling a client a new mobile website - but then we have to tell them they will not actually own it unless they purchase an additional licence. Not only that, but that if they subsequently sell it, their purchaser down the line will also not own it and they will also need yet another licence down the line and ad infinitum if the site is flipped multiple times ...

See where i am going with this? I think a more elegant solution to the licensing of sites that are sold on, would be to limit the licensing chain to the original web developer of the mobile site - so if I purchase a developer licence from you, develop a site and then flip it, then I pay you the difference between the developer licence and the Flippa licence.

The chain would stop there. If my purchaser ultimately sells, they would then have no obligation to purchase a licence at all. This would also be easier for you to police and more likely legally enforceable.

I would be interested in hearing feedback from other purchasers / warriors as well as yourself Irene.

I have not yet purchased but i am seriously considering it and this issue could be the deciding factor for me.

Great work. You really are very creative.

I'm still hoping Irene will add background images and transparency (for menus and block quotes) as options in the actual EZMobileSites and EZMobile Themes pages in upcoming updates. That may allow them CSS access as hooks into the stylesheet. This will also be EZer for most users.

The table background image may also be the reason for the lower W3C score since many of the HTML table attributes have been deprecated and their functions moved to the stylesheet.

Well, you can use the advanced tab in the 'insert table' option and the insert the image url.

You are getting background images in a future version, very soon - just don't ask for exact day.

I've already commented on bandwidth issues about using images for mobile websites, so I won't labour the point.

But, if you do decided to use images when I provide the feature, be careful in choice of images, that they will look well in both portrait and landscape, stretched or repeated. If you are not careful, something that you think would look good could end up looking bad in certain situations.

I was hoping to issue an update today, but I fell on a wet pavement yesterday and hurt my hand and typing is difficult at the moment.

The update I planned for today, which also included the redirect scripts will go out on Monday morning UK time.

Have a great Xmas

Ok still stuck no way to fix the content not matching the actual plugin emulator is way off. Tried everything hit the update button on mobile site hit the save button on permalink setting page nothing. I tried in a old wp site older than the 3.3 wp version nothing. Tried in a blank new 3.3 version wp site still getting same problem.

Yes I already sent help desk ticket hope you got the 4 pic's I sent you Irene yesturday and hope you can help.

Just asking here in thread to check if anyone has this problem I did as the new video you put up but not working out. I did not see you setting up a redirect plugin though its simple but just to make sure using wp-mobile-redirect.

I hope someone here could give some help are you using a m.yoursite.com set up and if so is that only for html site set up not for wp set up?

I really want to use this tool its the best and easiest tool for mobile that I have seen but only if I can get it to work correctly for me. I am using gatorhost reseller account not sure why I am having this problem while so many of you seem to be using it and setting up mobile sites without any problems.

Also, with all your images make sure they are optimized to the hilt without compromising on quality. This will go a long way to reducing load times.

Start with the basics.... go back to WP 3.2.1 on a clean install.

Setup 2 pages so you can have one menu button going to the other page.

Each page should have one short sentence each.

Setup your choice of redirect.

How does it look?

If ok, now add some more complexity. Maybe a smaller image. Maybe some more text to make a paragraph. Keep checking along the way...

It's working for most so there must be something with your specific server setup or the way you are creating your mobile sites...

Maybe you can post here your step by step exactly what you are doing to create your mobile sites and we can spot a potential problem area? The more details you provide the better we can help you.

It's the holidays here in the USA so I say we give Irene a much deserved and needed break

PS - What phone are you using when you see these errors?

Really this thread should not be used for support - that's what the helpdesk is for.

Seeing those images, I believe I answered your helpdesk ticket a while ago.

Can you give me your ticket number and I will check the ticket and try and help you some more.

I'm interested in purchasing, but want to make sure I am getting the correct version.

I have clients who have non Wordpress sites and they want me to develop a mobile version for them which they may have me host on my hosting account or possibly even with their current provider.

Of coarse they will pay me to develop the sites, but they will own them.

I just want to be clear as to whether you consider this simply developing sites or fliping them.

Will I be in compliance with your developer licence or do I need the flippa licence?

I have successfully built several practice sites.
I also followed Irene's instructions for enrico pizza and it worked out great. I was even able to upload the logo images the regular way even though I am running wordpress 3.3.
I do not have access to an I Phone at the moment but I was able to check the sites on an I Pod and they looked the same as on the emulator.

For people having issues - I suggest going back to the updated instructions on this thread by Irene and read carefully and follow the steps. I had some issues several days ago and I read over the instuctions several times and then suddenly I noticed something that I was overlooking and then all of a sudden everything worked fine.

Irene thanks for the great job and support. Have a Very Merry Christmas.

Just want to report here finally got it working thanks Irene for fixing it I feel really dumb it was a simple fix like she mentioned.
The thing was I had to go to themes and just click on update some how I missed that was just going to the actual mobile page and hitting update instead of doing it on the theme page.
Anyway thanks for all the help and finally will stop bothering her and you hear in this thread off to building mobile sites this is the best tool for mobiles now that I finally got it figured out.

Hello,

Wanted to share something and then ask a question:

I successfully managed to create a site, and then transfer it to another domain. What I did was use WPtwin Pro which is similar to Backup Buddy. It clones the entire Worpdress website including any mobile sites you have made with the plugin. So, really if you are designing a site for a client that wants to host it themselves, you would build the site on your subdomain (any that you have or want to use) in order to retain control of the site while building. Once the client pays you, you do the following:

1) Install Wordpress on their chosen domain or preferrably subdomain of their main site i.e. www.clientsite.com, should install to something like m.clientsite.com.

2) clone your website that you have created using the plugin on your own domain or subdomain

3) Following the instructions on how to deploy from either Backup Buddy or WPTwin Pro, you would deploy the site you created onto the clients subdomain.

You now have the site cloned/transferred to the client. All urls will be updated to read the clients url instead of yours (that is a feature of cloning software).

You still need to install a redirect script onto the clients main site. You can use a script entered into the clients html in the header area. If the clients site is Worpdress, then I highly recommend the following WSO

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...-1-0-free.html (not an affiliate link- are we allowed to put affiliate links here?).

Yes it is $8.95 but it has really great features like offering the surfer the option to go to the mobile version or the main site via a popup when they first visit the site. You do NOT have to use this feature- just a nice option.

More importantly, if you put an option for the surfer to visit the desktop site from the mobile site (usually in the footer), the biggest problem is that redirect scripts will never let this happen, because they will constantly redirect to the mobile site. The plugin at the above WSO has a built in overide which will make sure the visitor gets to the desktop version if they click the link to do so. Very cool! And they will be building more similar scripts to work as a standalone, on Drupal and Joomla so that will be great!

My only concern now is finding a way to somehow mask and fix the permalinks so that if a client does choose m.clientsite.com, I don't want it to say m.clientsite.com/ezmb/aboutus. Raher, hopefully their will be a way to say m.clientsite.com/aboutus. The other issue is that when I tried the permalink %postname% to get m.clientsite.com/ezmb/aboutus, it really slowed down the site a lot. When I switched back to default permalink, the site was much faster but the url is just ugly, m.clientsite.com/ezmb/pbcezmobsite=clientname so we need to figure out how to fix this.

Otherwise this plugin rocks and keeps getting better!

Does anyone know of a WSO or somewhere to get cool icons from for the navigation menu? But I would prefer icons that can be edited so that colours can be changed. And also, so that words can be added underneath the icon image.

In fact Irene, is it possible to add a feature whereby we can enter the name we would like to appear underneath an icon?

Not all redirects do! You need an EzRedirect script.

All a simple redirect does is redirect. If you send the user back again, and they move from page to page, they end up back to the mobile site again.

A clever redirect script doesn't do that. Once they come back to the main site they stay there.

I hoped to be able to spend some time on it yesterday to try and get it out tomorrow, but my hand was too painful, so I just left it and did the urgent helpdesk queries.

The swelling on my hand has gone down a lot, and it's less painful today, so I hope I can get it finalised tomorrow and out either late tomorrow or early Tuesday.

Have a great xmas day,

Irene

The page name appears under the icons. You need it to be somenting different?

I have this. Just haven't had time to get tutorials done so I can get it issued. Hundreds of full-color icons and instructions how to add more.

Also the ones I already provide, so that you can change background color. 300+ of them

Irene

Some examples (But you can make better - this was just fast)

Yes, we are limited to 5 colors in the Thumbnail Image menu. I'm looking also for this icons you show here Irene, and the option to edit them in photoshop.
So we need the background images and a variety of these small icons.

You really over deliver if you give us this option (I saw once a software - 3D icon maker) and show us how to work them out.

Second thought - you over over over deliver... and with this attitude you're going to create here a serious group of professionals

Please consider my advice in the helpdesk regarding the Contact us form

I think the field should be 100% width and the name -above it, like you have it in the last one - "Enter your message".

Also very important for security to add option for captcha to prevent spammers abusing our hosting account (happened to me on my hostgator account, and support told me I MUST use captcha!)

Thank you and Happy Holidays!

Have you ever tried to fill out a captcha on a mobile phone??? It's hard enough reading those a regular display!

Use WP-SpamFree then there is no need for captcha and you'll keep your site users very happy! I won't explain the technology behind it but it uses a double check to eliminate 99.9% of spam without annoying your customers! I've been using it for years and never have a problem with spam!

It's not supported anymore but still works fine with the latest WP versions. Just do a search for WP-SpamFree. It's managed by Pole Position. It's one of my must have plugins on all my sites.

There are simple 4 letters captchas that are simple to read and there is captcha to fill the sum of 2 numbers...

Irene can set it optional - so if you don't want to use it it's ok.

My point is - the security guy from hostgator told me I MUST use captcha if I allow comments or use contact form.

Anyway would like Irene to check your suggested plugin and the compatibility to EZ.

Hi Irene,
I hope you are recovering from your fall and feeling better. Thanks so much for the Enrico's walk thru it was fantastic and I have had no issues building additional sites.

Are you close to releasing the redirect plugin? I have quite a few customers that are requesting mobile sites so I was just waiting to see where you are at.

I know you are recovering so if you have a time frame in mind please let me know.

Again thank you for a great plugin

Has this been fixed yet? I have sent two support tickets and I still haven't had a response on the /EZMB/ issue.

Be Blessed, Doug

How are you able to build these sites and the permalinks read like: m.mobilesite.com/whatever/
I have been building the sites with this generator which is awesome, however I do not have a clue how to put the individual finished product on one of my other sites like: m.othersite.com/
Any help would be appreciated.

I am with Doug on this I know how to build simple sites with the plugin but when it comes to handing it over to a customer I don,t know how to do it. Is there any chance Irene could do a video or something in this area.

Spybandid and macna

Options are:
1. buy new domain like newdomain.mobi , install WP, upload EZ plugin, and build site
2. create subdomain like m.olddomain.com install WP in subdomain -m- install plugin etc.
3. create a new folder in old domain, install WP, install plugin and build site

insert redirect script in old domain according to the direction Irene will give us.

I do not know if its been discussed here yet but would like to talk about a whit label version for this.
Now there is no need if you just install it in one site and just build out sites for clients off of one site managed by you. The client does not see were the plugin comes from or plugin name.
The problem is when we need to install it on the clients own blog site they will be able to see plugin name, branding and video with name and site info.
I need a white label version to be able to install on clients sites please inform if you will be adding this soon or at all.

I just uploaded a new video toYouTube that will help a few people who are still having display issues.

It covers the 3 most common issues that I have dealt with at the Helpdesk, and solves 99% of users problems.

I am just finalising the update with the redirects now, and will have it released very shortly.

Harimon thanks for the input but if I do any of the suggestions and hand over a sight using the current plugin then I am handing the client a business opportunity to do what I am doing because the plugin has every thing you need to know in the video tutorials.

I know this has been mentioned in previous posts but as it stands now this is a real concern because business owners do talk to each other especially in smaller areas it would not take long to figure they don,t need you. I know most wont be bothered to start and try to figure it all out but at the same time I don,t want them to know where I get my information unless they have payed for it just like we had to.
Is there any plans to deal with this in a future version sorry to Irene if you have answered this already but its now a huge 17 pages and still going.

Hey Martin.

I hope you don't mind me jumping in here, but I live in a somewhat small town as well (well, it's still small town USA in Georgia) and you are correct business owners do talk to each other - to some degree. I usually combat your concerns on the first meeting. I ask the question of the business owner (somewhat rhetorically I must say). I ask the business owner, "Why do you need me? Can't you do this yourself? Why of course you can. If you can work comfortably in PHP, HTML, CSS, jQuery, and a few other languages, can handle PhotoShop and the rest of the Adobe Suite, and have ready access to a server with an SSL Certificate, then yes, you can do it yourself and you don't need me. In fact, if you want, I'll be happy to train you how to do this yourself and then you can do it yourself." If they say they are interested in that, then I will usually "check them out" by speaking in a really heavy Geek Speak to see if their eyes glaze over or if they can communicate with me.

What usually happens? Oh, they get MEGO disease (My Eyes Glaze Over) and realize pretty quickly that there's some specialized skills involved in doing what I do (they don't have to know it's really easy). Or, in rare cases, they actually understand and I can either determine that they really don't need me (and I tell them so), or I determine that I have a candidate for some training (which I can charge for).

If their job is cutting hair, installing plumbing fixtures, cleaning teeth, or even brain surgery, remind them where their best use of their talents are - doing what they are best at. If they're actually better utilized doing what you do, then they are not a viable client either.

Like you though, I still try to hide the fact that I use WP or any other tool if a client gets to see the backend of what I do. Why? I don't want anything that would minimize my skills in their eyes - and things like WP seem to make people think less of you - even though it takes a lot of skill and specialized knowledge to do some of the things I do for them.

I guess what I'm really trying to say is, don't hesitate a moment to challenge someone that thinks they can do you job. Maybe the can, probably they can't. Regardless, if they can, they're not a client and if they can't, then they need to realize that they really do need you.

Hope my comments are helpful and encouraging and that I've not completely missed the intent of what you are writing. But, like you, it would be nice to be able to give them access to it without know what they are getting access to.

I believe that Irene will be taking care of the m.mobilesite.com/ezmb/whatever, issue. Not exactly sure how it will work but I think that in order to get m.mobilesite.com (m.mobilesite.com/about, m.mobilesite.com/findus etc.), it will still be necessary to have m.mobilesite.com/clientname/about as an example, where client name replaces ezmb. Reason I believe this is that since multiple sites can be built on one install, there has to be a differentiating factor for each site. Otherwise, say you setup 2 sites on your EZMobile plugin. Your domain is www.mywebbusiness.com. You then have 2 sites that clients: client 1 and client 2.

Say you then build identical sites for each business but obviously use different logos and text and colours. So for example, say each site has an about us page: www.mywebbusiness.com/client1/about, www.mywebbusiness.com/client2/about. The only differentiator is the client1/client2.

I just don't know how it will be possible to get rid of that so you just have www.mywebbusiness.com/about.

And it won't matter if you build 1 site on an install because the plugin is capable of building more. UNLESS, the discussions in this thread about a single site version are released. Then maybe it would work.

Hope that makes sense and that I am wrong somehow.

Oh, and to answer regarding worrying about business owners and what they will think if they know you are using a plugin, think about it this way. I can cook a steak in my own kitchen. So does that mean if I go to a restaurant and they try to sell me a steak that I should tell them that I can just do that on my own? This concern applies for lots of things i.e. I can learn how to install pot lights, a toilet etc. The point is that we are the experts and at the end of the day, it does not matter how we build the site. Let me assure you that many business sites are built on Worpdress (many not as well obviously). The point is just because someone can learn something, many business owners are too busy and don't want to deal with the hassle. Establish your value by showing why mobile is important and that you can help the business with their ROI and they won't even ask you. Just my 2 cents.
