After updating to newest version, my mobile site was crashed, the layout was ruined, and I couldn't even access my domain on my blackberry.

I immediately opened a ticket to Irene.

Later, I found out that the problem was on my hosting company.

This evening when I nervously checked the site on my blackberry again, there it was, my complete mobile site perfectly intact !
And then when I opened support help desk and to see what Irene had been doing all day long to help me solving my problems, words just couldn't express how much I appreciate the effort and support she had given to me.

She is truly an example of "customer support awesomeness".

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you Irene Bennistone.

Very nice find! I have been looking for something like this.

Quick question, when I try to use custom icons for the navigation menu, the sizes seem too big and cut off the screen. Does anyone know what the size of icons should be for using them as navigation menu items?

Generally it's 64x64 px and that is also the size Irene uses in EZMSG.

valdivz:

The sitemap is created when you publish your mobile site.

Just scroll to the bottom of the main specification page of your mobile site and you'll find the URL to the sitemap. Generally, the path is <site domain>/wp-content/plugins/EzMobileSiteGenerator/sitemaps/<sitemapname>.xml

It seems a bug exists: when you build multiple mobile sites on one WP installation, only the sitemap for the last saved mobile site appears. I'll report this to Irene via the support desk.

Of course, if you're exporting the site as static HTML, the URL will be different, but in that case both URLs will be displayed at the bottom of the main site specification page.

Yes. EzMSG provides several ways to redirect visitors. Irene has provided a WP plugin to use if the main site is designed using WordPress. If not, she has given us a Javascript patch to accomplish the same thing on a non-WP site.

In addition, EzMSG has a new default that forces all traffic arriving at the domain to a default EzMSG site. This is useful if you have, for example, a .mobi site that's only designed for mobile visitors. It's also useful if you want to create a mobile directory site that then sends mobile visitors to other sites.

Today is Sunday and I had not one, but two occasions that I needed to contact Irene for support. Well, not only did she repond the same day, she responded within abut an hour each time! I don't expect her to be able to do this for every single support request, but this is significantly better than the "industry standard".

Add to that the fact that this product is an absolute killer and I was able to create my very first site in a matter of a few hours and that includes watching the training videos.

The site came up looking beautiful and I was able to easily modify the theme, use 2 different image sliders on 2 different pages, set up all the redirects, etc... Easy peasy and there is a training video covering every required step and every feature. It just works.

What a fantastic product from a fantastic developer!

I am interested in purchasing this and did a test with one of the sample site that has a top bar. When I checked the site in Opera and Windows mobile simulators the top bar did not show up properly...similar to the way it shows when viewing in Firefox. Could the developer or a owner of this software verify this on a real mobile phone using the Opera or Windows mobile web browsing platform.

I have problem. This plugin doesn't work with Google maps plugins (like WP Google Maps and Google Maps v3 Shortcode). I need to integrate a map with multiple marks. The EzMobileSiteGenerator doesn't make it. Any suggestions?
I see this thread are dead. Irene, if you are reading the posts here sometimes please... I submitted two tickets on helpdesk without reverts. The number tickets are #595255 and #943368. Please reply.

Hello sunnygal,

I submitted a ticket but have yet gotten a reply.

Ticket number is 760998.

The plug-in is great there is just a problem when exporting.

1) When exporting the site and uploading the HTML version the home page does not show the slide show. When I right click on the place where the images suppose to be and check the image location it shows the link "http://mobi2.descrymarketing.com/images/9k=" but there are no images there for the slide show.

The URL is: Restaurant R Us

Hey cmiddlet78,

If you click the home button on your site, the slider images show up fine. Strange that they don't show up on the home page through a direct link.

The home page is a different link(s) going to the site on a wordpress install. I just never changes the navigation links from the previous wordpress version. My html version is not showing the slider. Have anyone tried exporting a site with the slider? Do you get the same result?

Shmigola:

(Speaking only for myself as a very satisfied customer) I certainly believe that EzMSG will do wonderful multilanguage mobile sites. You have control of the prompts on a page-by-page basis, so (for example) if you wanted a page in Spanish and an identical page in English, you'd simply set up two separate mobile pages with the same functionality.

Since the prompts are global to the application--with the ability to override the global settings on each page--it's easy to do. Plus, you could either do some coded User Agent checking on the home page to find out the visitor's preferred language, or just have a menu button to move to the second language home page from the first, presenting the Main Menu in the user's preferred language.

The only issue that comes to me is that the header image is automatically linked to the primary home page, but I'm sure that's "fixable," especially if you use the new Export feature to create a non-WordPress version of your site.

Does that take care of your question?

I just exported one of my sites that happened to have a slideshow and it works fine. (No help to you, I know, but it's a start.)

I do see the odd links you mentioned specified in your source, so it's no wonder the slideshow is failing. You could go into the HTML and manually correct the entries if you're comfortable editing raw HTML.

Here's a thought: go back into the plugin specifications in WordPress, bring up the slideshow there, and be sure you've specified full URLs for each of you pictures. By that, I mean a link starting with "http://" rather than a partial URL (like "images/mypix.jpg"). Then, run the export again.

I'm just guessing, so if that suggestion doesn't apply to your situation, my apologies.

George:

Thanks for your advise. I found that when dragging and dropping the picture to the wysiwyg editor it does something to the image code. So what I did was use the image insert option and it worked like a charm. Thanks again for all the help. I would suggest to anyone using this plugin to build mobile sites for clients to export and host the HTML version because it is much faster loading than the wordpress version.

Hey everyone,

Unfortunately despite my glowing testimony about Irene's excellent product and the support she has already provided, I have not been able to resolve a problem for probably over a week now.

I have raised a couple of tickets and tried to email Irene, but no response so far.

Maybe someone else knows the answer...? Basically I built a site I'm very happy with, but unfortunately whenever anyone tries to visit it via their Android based mobile, it seems to report a 404 error. Now, I'm not sure if it's ALL Android phones, or a particular version. Also, I am not sure if other phones, say older Blackberry aren't having the same problems. Oh, and it works great on the iPhone!

When I was still in contact with Irene, she asked me if this happened over WiFi and 3G. Well interestingly, it seems to only happen when an android based phone tries to access the site on 3G. Via WiFi seems to be fine. Maybe this means something to somebody?

The site is at www.kitchenart.com.au if anyone is interested to check it out via their mobile, and of course any suggestions would be much appreciated.

In the mean time I very much hope that Irene re-appears and continues to support this wonderful product of hers.

Vlad

Hi Vlad Shelest,

Just now I got a call saying that Android phones over 3G is having this problem. You are not alone Vlad.

On top of that, I was in constant touch with Irene and since lately, she is very silent. Not sure whether she is busy or sick. Let us assume she is busy and working on these loop holes.

As most of the people said in this forum, her support is above average. I would say it is excellent!!!

Thanks.

Hi Vlad

"The site is at www.kitchenart.com.au if anyone is interested to check it out via their mobile, and of course any suggestions would be much appreciated".

Works perfect minus slow initial download (20 secs) on my Android HTC Desire.

I haven't used the software other than to build Enrico's Pizza following Irene's video
so seeing your example with your use of the header and slider has fired me up again.

Thanks!

Looks fine on my Samsung Infuse. Is your site a wordpress or HTML version? Try exporting to HTML. It will help the load time. You can also try my site on the android that is giving you issues to see if it just your site or all sites. It has a slider as well.

Received V3.00.04 on 2/27/12
So V3.01.01 (3/7/12) is the lattest and greatest - correct?
(A few to many deactivation/deletions and installations - lol)

We have sent in 5 tickets over a period of 4 weeks or so with no response. We love the EZMobile plugin, but if you can't get help with problems, it makes it very difficult to continue to use. Are you there Irene? Are you no longer answering support tickets?

Vlad

I have an Android 2.1 and its working fine!
Dont' see your scroll bar at the top.

Nice looking site though

Really appreciate everyone's help with checking my site via Android based and other phones! Unfortunately it still doesn't show up on the latest Android Xperia phone when accessed through 3G, but it works great on WiFi?!

Anyway, I might just have to live with it as UNFORTUNATELY, Irene seems to have disappeared without a trace. I hope she is OK and will resurface to continue supporting this wonderful plugin.

Hi,

I am using version Version 3.01.01

When I try and export ANY of my sites, it doesn't work.
I select the site, leave the "Installation URL" blank,
hit "Export Site" button.

Result: I get transferred to this url:
http://mysite.com/wp-admin/admin.php...msg_exportsite

And I just get a blank page come up.

I get the same null result if I enter a valid "Installation URL"

Can everyone else export OK ?

Vlad,

All renders well on my Motorola Android Bionic both in 4G and WiFi. Don't know about 3G. This may be a stupid question, but is there a way to access 3G when 4G is showing on your device?

Tim:

Export is working fine here.

Before you export, go to the home page specification for your mobile site and scroll down to 3 sections above the simulator called "Export Domain for This Page." Fill that in with your target domain (for example, "http://anyolddomain.com/mobile/" as the root location for your exported mobile domain).

Update the page and scroll down again to see that the Exported Permalink URL (displayed in the section just above the simulator) appears correctly. The trailing slash in my example is needed.

Then, do your export and be sure to specify the Installation URL (which will most likely be the same specification as your target domain mentioned above).

Download the exported site and unzip it. In the folder for the site, you'll find a file called <mobilesitename>.xml, with <mobilesitename> being the internal name for this site in WordPress as specified under EzMobileSites. Open this file in your browser or a simple text editor. Look at the link (ending in "index.html") between the first <loc> tag and its closing </loc> tag. This should be the link to the home page of your mobile site.

Right click on that file (index.html) and open it with your preferred browser (Irene recommends Google Chrome). Test a couple of pages to see if the site runs locally.

If it works okay locally, upload the folder to the proper location on your Web server and test it there. If it still doesn't work on your Web server but it does work locally, you have a configuration problem on that server or, perhaps, in DNS. Those issues cannot be fixed within EzMSG, but I'd be happy to help further if you'd email me directly at myusername (at) gmail.com.

Best of luck,
--George

Hello Irene,

How to get any replay from you? I have tried several ways. Including your support ticket system. UNSUCCESSFULLY!
Please answer my at least to my last ticket I submitted yesterday!!
supereurope.eu@gmail.com

I will consider to claim for a refund if there is no support available anymore

Guys,

I'm running into an issue I haven't seen before, maybe some of you have experienced this also and can shed some light.

Firstly, my WP Version is 3.3.1, my ez plugin version is 3.00.04

When a build a new page and save it as a 'draft', the preview is displaying just fine. But when I then 'publish' the page, the preview does not work, it says 'page not found'.

My permalink structure is set to 'Custom' and /%postname%/. And the 'Remove EZMB from URLs:' is set to YES.

If I change the page's status back to 'Draft' the preview works fine.

I've tried deleting the ex plugin, and reinstalling making sure to set the permalink structure to custom before building any pages, but to no avail.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Loren

Redirection to:
mysite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=pbc_wpmsg_exportsite

and a blank page.

So I can not do any downloading etc.

Mybe your version is 3.00.04 ?

Mine is the latest: EZ version 3.01.01
And I am running WordPress 3.3.1.

Don't know what to do

Tim:

I'm using the current versions of everything, as are you. I always recommend keeping things current for security purposes, but some may disagree with that.

I'm afraid I was misreading your issue. What you're saying is that you never get an export at all, is that correct? That the attempt to Export Site leaves you at the location you posted? Sorry I was thick-headed, but the URL you posted is exactly what you would expect to see during (and after) the export of your site.

Who is your Web host? I'm guessing that, since we're both using the same versions of WP and EzMSG, the problem is occurring during that operation. I initially read your note to be that the exported site itself was failing. Sorry.

So, now we need to examine what you may be using that is confusing the export operation. My guess would be an incompatible plugin, so the short fix is to deactivate all of your plugins except for EzMSG and try the export again.

If that works, you may then re-activate them one at a time to identify what one is causing the issue. If the export still fails with all of the other plugins inactive, then I recommend that you make a one-page test site in EzMSG and try exporting that. Your Web host may have some restrictions in place with which I'm unfamiliar. I use Dreamhost and Hostgator and haven't seen such a problem.

Perhaps we can track this down. . .

Ha! Even after I misunderstood Tim's issue? (I can certainly be thick-headed sometimes!)

In any event, I hate to see folks stuck while Irene is busy elsewhere. (My money is on her spending some quality time with EzFanPageGenerator, by the way. She notified customers that she'd be updating that tool and then Facebook dropped their March bomb, changing the rules again...)

It's surprising to see some people get so upset about the so-called "Help Desk" when most of the issues are simple misunderstandings that can be easily fixed. I'd bet that most problems fall into that category or are requests for new features. I have seen Irene acknowledge some programming errors and fix them in quick turnaround, but her development style is obviously to avoid distractions so she can focus entirely on the task at hand.

I don't know Irene and never had any dealings with Push Button Computing until I bought this plugin last December. I found it enormously valuable (more than I can say for most WSOs :rolleyes and she's added a ton of features since then at no extra charge to anyone. I DID write her to say she should start charging for updates that add so much more. Luckily for us, she ignored that suggestion.

So--if I can--I'm willing to help out and try to take some of the heat off Irene, though I certainly don't have all of the answers. Troubleshooting is usually a matter of asking logical questions and trusting in the results, as well as learning from your mistakes. Intuition and insight sometimes just hamper the progress.

Hey George.

I'm glad you took this role with EZMSG - as I took it with EZFPG during Irene's illness. I'm glad someone else had the knowledge and expertise to help here. I've got this, but I've still not "powered it up" so I'm of NO value with it. Now, with FB Pages??? That's a different story.

Thanks for your willingness to help...I'm sure you're comments here will be helpful to me when I get this started in the next few weeks.

That's how I feel. If I have knowledge that can help someone else, why should I NOT share it. It doesn't hurt me to share it and it helps them if I do.

George,

My thanks was meant to be more of a general type for your monitoring of some of the problems here. But even though the issues addressed may not apply to me specifically, I usually derive some peripheral enlightenment from the help of all those who try to solve others' problems.

And I agree with your comments pertaining to Irene (and have commented similarly in the past). Whatever Irene is working on at any given time, it's likely that it is for the improvement of her products and will eventually benefit those who have purchased them.

I can't imagine too many products that have given the value for the price paid that I have gotten from EZMSG.

BWA:

Not to worry. That's exactly how your point was taken. I couldn't help laughing at myself, however, for the irony of the timing. . .

Whenever Irene disconnects for a while, she comes back with something amazing. Also, as she's mentioned, she has her own offline business to run. The cost of the EzMSG developer's version is still under $50, and most of us paid far less. Quite a bargain.

It is completely feasible to set up an entire business based just on EzMSG and a Web server account with WordPress. Irene's entire point ("Push Button Computing") is enabling developers to be productive without any sort of programming. If you know some HTML and CSS, so much the better.

The 30-second sales presentation is dead simple: "Look, Mr. Businessman--there's a problem with your Website. OMG, it looks terrible on my smart phone! At least one in seven visitors to your site see it this way, and then they move on to something else. For a small investment, however, I can make it look like this." Click over to your EzMSG demo site and ask, "How much more business would you get if this were your mobile site?" Make 10 presentations like this a day and I'll bet you close at least one. Hit 'em with a special "introductory" offer and a monthly maintenance fee to host the site and keep it up-to-date. This simple model has the potential of a $10,000 per month business, working solo, with an increasing passive income component, for only about 4 hours per day work and taking the weekends off.

But it won't last long. A year or two from now, the prospects will start to dry up, the competition will increase, and you'll need to move on to something else. That's why I'm encouraged when someone like Irene has the vision to stay ahead of that curve.

She has my full support, and my appreciation. . .

Good idea, but I only have the 2 plugins:

Maybe I should download the latest zip file again,
de-activate & delete my present EZ install and then
re install the EZ plugin ?

Tim:

I get you that the export function is failing, and that you're frustrated. I've asked who are you using for a Web host. Have you consulted them (because I honestly don't think it's a problem with EzMSG directly)?

The operation involves zipping up the files after extracting them, so either the extraction is failing or the zip operation is the problem. Either of these could be systemic errors rather than problems with EzMSG directly. It could also be a permissions issue. Are you logged in as the WordPress admin?

Have you tried building a simple, one-page site and exporting that? If you can reduce the problem to its simplest form, you'll know more about what exactly is happening.

What is your Webhost using as a control panel? Does your host provide you with WP error logs? I think you'll need to open a ticket with them to get more information, but, if you can locate the logs, that would be a start.

So far, no one has come back to say, "Yes, that's the exact same problem I'm having." Logically, then, it's something with your WP installation, or it's something you're doing. I don't know what that could be, so I gotta figure it's on your hosting company. Open a ticket and see if they can provide any help, or at least get you access to the error logs so you can see what WP is choking on. I know that we have seen some zip-related problems in the past, so keep you eye out for anything along those lines.

It wouldn't hurt to reinstall EzMSG, but I'm not optimistic that it would help, either. It only takes a few minutes, though. Are you seeing any errors with the plugin or having other unexplained issues? If so, you haven't mentioned them.
