It's amazing how much ruckus a relatively small (and easily fixable) error can make.

Which only goes to prove the software quality axiom which says that the further out in the release cycle that you find a bug, the exponentially greater it is to fix.

Hence the rise of the software quality assurance profession.

Some people are quicker to judge, and that's their right (and worth marketers being aware of such folks) -- those who judge quickly tend not to be ideal customers...

Marketing is about creating mutually rewarding relationships.(tm)

And yes, I definitely think this is one of the marketing deals of the year. This isn't gonna be a one-shot deal, with the WSO closing and the vendors and all support disappearing.

Does this plugin track video player statistics? If so what exactly does it track? Plays, conversions, shares, etc. all important to my video marketing efforts.

No - SVP plays videos on your website and gives you a ton of ways to dynamically overlay images, buy buttons, html, viral links, and more using video on your WordPress website.

Not sure why - I use an andriod tablet and it works well... I will check it on an Androis phone as soon as I get out from under this avalanche.

What "works for YouTube, Self-Hosted AND Amazon S3 Hosted videos" means is that the source video file can be on those servers.... SVP will play videos that "live" on those sites and give you all the features it offers on your when they play on your WordPress site. It will also allow people to embed the video played on your site via SVP on their own sites. They do not need WordPress to embed your videos.

You cannot "produce" videos to upload to YouTube or Facebook. And those sites will not let you use the embed code - they have their own proprietary players.

See the comments above - perhaps I should change the text to say "it works using YouTube, Self Hosted..."

I was working on a demo video and a back-end admin video -- however, I put those on hold to take care of support - from day one. (support news below)


I used ProShow Producer and Camtasisa. Also used Adobe Premier a little where the others did not have certain tools.

We are working on an upgrade system. Please be patient. Got a lot going on.

Each year will cost the normal prices in this WSO - which is crazy low. (not the dimesale prices)

Statistics are coming in a future update. Simple Video Pro has a long list of future features... and I have a reputation for adding features often... But: shhhhhh - the list is a secret...

Excellent! You can even embed the PayPal button, use a custom image for it AND make the final end splash image into a big 'ol custom PayPal Buy Button.

I was working on a nice demo site -- and a back-end video where you actually watch me set up the demo site! But I had to put that on hold to take care of support. Will not having that video hurt conversions a little? Probably... but getting support issues caught up is more important.

Hi - I am concerned about this. I have an iPhone 4S and as soon as I saw your post, I JUMPED ON my phone and went to one of the video pages on my site.......... *whew!* it plays!

So - I am wondering what is going on with the page you looked at. Can you open a ticket with "IPHONE QUESTION" in the subject so I will see it? Also - include the URL you were going to - the one that did not work for you.

I really want to talk with you and make sure this works as well for you as it does for me. If there is a problem I will fix it - things like this are on the uber-top of my list!

SVP does not create videos. It plays videos on your WordPress sites and allows you to dynamically place linked images or buy buttons in the video as it plays... these images do NOT become a part of the video source. They are imported by the Flash player and positioned over the source video within flash as it plays.

This gives you the flexibility to change out images as you desire. It also lets you over-lay HTML, viral buttons and reveal content on your page at a specified point in the video.... splash images, etc. etc.

We are working on a way to upgrade once you get out of the normal sales funnel. We are also looking into why a few people do not see the OTO pages.

Correct - you can only post YouTube videos on WF - no other players allowed.

Of course you can host your videos on Amazon S3, but if you use YouTube hosted videos, YouTube provides an API for programmers to stream video from their server into other players. We are using the tools YouTube provides.

In fact, the when the video streams via their API, the YT link is not present - only the logo image. I even took the extra step of adding the link back in via my coding! I did this so people have the option of driving traffic to their YT pages... So - SVP does not alter the YT player - it does not use it - it uses the YT API they provide for exactly this purpose.

As far as copyright, people choose to allow embedding - in doing so, people give up certain rights when they post their own videos on YT - if they post copy-written material, YT will take it down when found. I am not an attorney. If you are concerned, ask your counsel -- but know that millions of videos are embedded on external sites every day... that is what it is for.

YT provides a way to start in the middle and stop before the end. ... in short, we are not modifying the YT Player - like cropping it to hide the link as I have seen other players do - we are not doing such things.

1. re: responsive theme - we have not personally tested SVP with responsive. If you have responsive, open a ticket with RESPONSIVE in the subject and when I get a moment, I will take a look.

2. Yes you can place text before and after a video. In fact, you can have text wrap around a video to the left or right. And you can place up to 10 videos per page -- plus you can reveal videos one after the other if you like.

Users choose to allow their videos to be embedded. They can make them non-embeddable, and no player can play them anywhere. I have never heard of someone being sued over embedding someone's video on their site - or using the API to do so. Even television shows like The Daily Shoe, The Colbert Report and Tosh.0 use YouTube clips on a regular basis.

I for one am not concerned personally, but I am not an attorney and am not giving legal advice in any fashion. Again - if you are concerned, speak to your counsel - or just make your own videos.

See above - if current owners "catch" you, they can simply shut of the embed option. They probably "catch" major networks every day.

If you are worried, use your own videos. Host them on YT for free and use SVP to make 'em play awesome on your sites! So you get both YT traffic and pure awesomeness on your pages and posts -- and on other sites that embed your SVP player on their sites!

The links point to whatever URL you put in the link field... did you put the full URL, including "http://" ? You need to.

I have seen this a few times, so just in case one of our files got damaged in the upload process, I just re-zipped them all and re-uploaded them all. Please try again... I am noting that in the support center tickets as well asap.

It depends o the phone. iPhones and iPads, for example, use Apple's own player - and they lock it down. Nothing can be made to show up in the middle of a video... so -- instead, in the case of the buy button, for example, the button will show up at the end of the video. Splash images also work as does the content reveal. This is just a limitation imposed by Apple on their mobile devices.

There seem to be a number of concerns throughout this thread about this plugin working consistently on Android / iOS devices but no definitive answer reassuring that it works well with a features showing up ok across the board.

I'm considering buying this primarily for mobile but need to know it's going to work!

Also, does it resize videos automatically according to screen size?

I'll be using this with responsive themes so the above points must be covered.

The 17.3% of this 27 page document, absorbed, may be just enough to thrust forth a coherent question or two.

Leaving the legal'eeze aside, software complaints, support tirades, etc. a smidgeon insight was gleaned to pique curiosity..

A worthy player, with advanced imbed features, stuff under the hood pro marketers are liking..
But.

Could I ask those willing to reply what are some of the the most common programs/products out there to produce a decent video?

HI Bill, in terms of Video Creation program, I mostly use Camtasia, sometimes Animoto.com, sometimes Windows Movie Maker, or Jing by TechSmith ... all depends on the kind of video I'm creating - streaming videos, quick flicks of pics/text or screen casting

The first 15 or 16 pages were just pre-launch chatter and rah-rah.

The real nitty-gritty starts after that - posting of problems, successes, and reply's to those posts. Typical software launch - but you're right - this is a HUGH response! And once all the launch dust settles and kinks are ironed out, this product is going to be a welcome edition to the "tricked out" video player market. JMO

Got this product and followed the instructions and the helper says I need loader 3.3 but the host has already confirmed I have it so now I can not get the product to give me the download ... went to support 3 days ago and got no reply. Wish someone would be able just to send me the download link for our site.

Something everyone should keep in mind for the ios/android thing is...

If you are using a video through youtube, it should almost always work perfectly fine, but if you are testing self hosted or s3 videos, THOSE VIDEOS need to be formatted to be able to play on those devices.

I now have SVP installed on 6 different sites - Every single video that I've embeded from youtube has worked perfectly on my Iphone4S, my Ipad 2 and 3, and my sons android. On the other hand, in a few instances, when I tested my self hosted/s3 videos, they did not and it was because I didn't have the videos formatted correctly.

Also, I've seen a couple people say that they aren't seeing the "fan buzz" options even though they purchased the OTO - This is a mistake I made and you may be making the same one...

SVP IS INCLUDED WITH THE OTO PURCHASE, so, you are only supposed to install that version, not the original SVP. So, Install the fanbuzz helper plugin, then get the download link to the correct version.

ALL IN ALL THIS WAS AN EXCEPTIONAL PURCHASE AND VALUE!!

One of the features that I was hoping to see in SVP was formatting/compression/etc... and upload support to wherever the videos are ultimately hosted. (I asked about it in a couple of earlier posts but that was a lifetime ago in "SVP WSO Time" <grin> and I am sure its lost in ancient history. If you are correct, and the mobile issues are largely due to formatting.... maybe Nick, will decide to take that task onboard.

Great Plug in. I purchased the developers version. In using it I don't see the option to show the High Definition version of the Youtube video. Please add this feature. This is rather critical to me and my clients.
If I somehow missed it in the controls then help me out.

I have been shifting a lot of HD video from Amazon S3 to youtube simply because Youtube is able to serve it faster, without loading time issues.

i was ready to close out, assuming it didnt work. did you purposely set this delay?

i plan to use this for a sales video and don't want customers X'ing out because they think the video has not loaded.

also, i see that it is possible to embed paypal buy buttons right in the video. is it possible to embed a buy button that sends to a CB order form or a 1SC order form?

Great post Jeremy! I laughed at the part about installing the wrong program because it's a reminder of something I see manifesting on a regular basis in my own life: after I've been upset for a while that something doesn't work, I get desperate enough to check the obvious.

With electrical appliances, that could mean once I've spent a couple hours taking it apart and brilliantly reconstructing it, that's when it occurs to me that it might work better if I plugged it in.

With software, as in the problem you described above, it's usually a matter of going over the directions a little more carefully, and low and behold; problem solved!

Did you log into your warriorplus account and go to "my purchases" - If you search your email for "warriorplus" you should find the initial email with a link to access your purchase.

The only controversial feature is whether or not you block the youtube logo and link - Which is entirely up to the USER (read: you) , so if you interpret the TOS to mean that you CAN'T do that and you want to abide by their rules, simply don't use that option.

But, even if you take that option out of the equation it's still a great video player, which in my opinion is easier to configure, use, and customize, with more features than any other solution out there that I've tried...And I've tried just about all of them.

Hell, just being able to SKIN youtube videos is worth the purchase price for those of US that are "technically challenged", and want to make our own and our clients videos look professional.

Hmmm. I was going to buy this but I see a lot of posts saying it isn't working right and a lot of posts saying it may break YouTube TOS. I specifically asked the makers about whether or not it broke YT TOS a few pages back and I'm pretty sure I didn't receive a response.

So unfortunately I will have to pass on buying this, for now. My question still is:

Does this software break YT TOS or not? I am tired of WSO's that break TOS's and risk getting the buyer's or user's account shut down. I wonder if the makers of this software ever checked to make sure if it violated YouTube TOS, or not? If they did, then please tell us. I went through most of this thread and I never saw an answer to this question. If the answer can be given truthfully, that it does not violate TOS I will probably buy this. But I don't want to risk getting my youtube account closed. Thank you.

In short, though, the answer is: No, it doesn't break the YT ToS.

Does anyone have a fix regarding not receiving the download once you have gone through the installer plugin? All my php specs are update to date and have no critical issues but it still says that the Zend Optimizer needs to be 3.3.x or higher. I have checked with my host and I actually have the 5.2 version but I am still not getting the software download.

PS - I have updated my wordpress version to the most recent but still no fix. And yes I got the new update and it still doesn't work. And yes a support ticket is in the system since SUNDAY

Growing Very frustrated so any help would be appreciate. I want to use this on a new project so I need to get this going ASAP

OK here is an example of Simple Video Pro in action - actually 2, one with redirect and one without.

Nick & Mike, I have one wish - please make the link cloaking optional. Some of us would like the choice and have our own cloaking in place, if and when needed. Also, I often use videos to drive traffic to Facebook pages (mine and clients) and you can see what the cloaking does in the demo above.

I own a lot of the video players out there and SVP is actually very easy to use, in case anyone is wondering. I didn't have to refer to the guide, which I will go through later. I just wanted to see how user-friendly it was. Then again, I'm used to these players, so be sure to read the instructions if you are a newbie.

Was the answer that they gave you about Zend....

"All shared hosting has zend 5.2.x or higher"

Because that is what hostgator told me as well, but if you click on the link at the bottom of the helper when you run it, you will be taken to a page that shows all of the info, and in my case, all that was installed was zend 2.2..when I told the live chat agent that, he had me all fixed up in 5 minutes and I was good to go.
