Fast and Cheap Kindle Books: What Illustrators Don't Want You To Know
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

To Your Success,

Deb & Amy

PS - Get skills for life that you can use for all forms of publishing and marketing

PPS - Get HUGE bragging rights when you know how to do simple image manipulation that professional illustrators don't want you to know!!

PPPS - With this price and guarantee - why have you not hit the buy button yet??

***BONUS ADDED***

We are including our case study book inside the product - You can download the PDF of the book so you can see exactly how we constructed the book

***What People Are Saying***
"First of all, I have to say I was given a review copy of the Fast and Cheap Storybook system. Secondly, I want to say “ Thank You” for letting me have an advance copy as it was one of the most useful things I have seen on how to create the pictures for your book.

I have published 4 picture books using the Kindle platform – one using my own photos, one with illustrations I ordered on Fiverr, one using a comic for the images and one public domain book plus I have 1 more ready and 2 nearly ready to be published.

The tips and demonstrations I have found in this system have changed some of my ideas so that I can do more of the illustration work myself, which means less cost involved. How to get rid of a background image and just keep the figure is worth the price to me.

The system also gives you ways of organising your work so that you can outline your story, a way of recording where you downloaded your images from and also if attribution is required, so that you are on the right side of the copyright police, and a large resource on where to get your images.t

Finally there is a section on using your images to make comic books - great for personal use or to sell on Amazon.

Would I recommend it? The answer is yes, as I would have bought it and I have found it very useful unlike other Kindle programs I have bought."

I got a review copy of this and I can honestly say that Amy and Deb have (once again) given a very thorough training on how to get these short storybooks done. As I watched the videos, it was evident by the level of detail that they have been through this process from start to finish. It's not just theory. Great job, ladies!

Yes, I received a review copy

Will be purchasing anyway because this one is going to be such fun!

It's summertime and projects need to be fun

I'm encouraging my two younger grandkids to join in too.

Thanks Amy and Deb for creating such a fun, and profitable, way for kids and adults to spend time together.

I really enjoyed going through the content inside Fast And Cheap Storybooks (I did get a review copy).

This solves one of the biggest problems with childrens books, in what looks initially like a low cost project can end up spiralling out of control by the time that the illustration costs are taken into account.

Amy and Deb have turned this problem on its head by taking care of the image issue first.

I recommend paying particular attention to the sample book included, as that particular type of story lends itself perfectly to the Fast And Cheap Storybooks technique.

Disclosure: I did get a review copy, and I am an affiliate for this product.

Here is the email I sent to my list of Kindle authors...

Overcome The Common Problems When Creating Children's Books

When I tried to do my first children's book (still unpublished), I had a story, but I could not find images that would match my story line.

With my second children's book (currently live under a pen name), I found the images first, then wrapped my story around the pictures I had acquired.

Apparently, Deborah Drum and Amy Harrop saw many of the same problems I had when developing children's books.

Inside their new product, "Fast & Cheap Storybooks", they described how to overcome many of the problems I encountered, and they shared many of the resources I found and some that I had never seen before.

Here is how this product is laid out:

* Module #1 - Idea Generation
* Module #2 - Image Resources
* Module #3 - Image Manipulation
* Module #4 - Finished Product
* Simple Creative Book Layouts

In order to develop this product, they built a children's book from the ground up, from idea generation to finding images, manipulating images to match your story line, and then they show the final product as it was published on Kindle.

Most of the product is delivered in video format, which in this case is the best way to present the materials.

Module #3 is the longest of the four modules, because it shows you 9 different methods for manipulating images.

In the final product, Deborah and Amy merged public domain photographs with public domain illustrations, and their characters did all of the things they needed to be doing within this book for children.

In doing so, they have developed a really neat artistic style. If you have young children at home and you have ever had the opportunity to watch "The Amazing World of Gumball", then you know the artistic style I am talking about.

What they have done is to merge cartoon pictures with landscape photographs, giving them the ability to develop more action-oriented characters for their children books. This style is really cool.

Even if you are simply looking for new resources to obtain public domain images, then you will want to buy this product to get your hands on Module #2.

If you are wanting to learn how to develop more interesting photos, simply by doing a bit of photo manipulation, Module #3 will knock your socks off!

Anyone who is doing children's books or picture books in general will benefit from owning and studying Deb & Amy's new product, "Fast & Cheap Storybooks".

Illustration samples please. Only showing them inside the course after a purchase does not do much to sell the course IMO.

Just bought, going through it now. You really should make the videos downloadable.
My internet speed must not be quite fast enough as I always have trouble with videos
hanging, and buffering and won't finish. I have 2 expensive courses that are useless
to me because, so far, I haven't been able to get the videos in a download format.
Just my two cents.

I bought the course last night - there is an OTO but to be honest I wasn't sure from the sales copy exactly what it was that we would be getting, especially after going through the main course which is so amazingly thorough. Amy can you elaborate? Thanks!

PS: for anyone thinking about this course, it's not just a collection of ideas for turning around a unique form of books out quickly and cheaply, it also includes a very thorough section of videos that act as a mini course on using various graphic software packages. Amazing value for $10.

I don't know if you guys know how awesome creating children's books is but if you don't you need to. They have so many advantages, they are fast, easy, less words and best of all they can and do often break the top 100 books on all of Kindle. So that means they make money. I have seen courses in Childrens Book creation for $200 that do not cover all of the awesome tips and techniques Amy and Deb have included here. Now I did get a review copy yet now that I have seen it myself I should have paid much much more.

I bought this, but declined the upsell.

After I went through some of the course, I went ahead and bought the upsell, too. (It's not expensive.) I have been looking for this kind of course for a long time.

I love messing with graphics, but I am computer graphics challenged. This course is the kind of training I need--and it uses the kind of material that interests me right now. I have been working on some children's books and the images were killing me.

I recently bought Tony Laidig and Daniel Hall's Derivatives Products course, which is great. Fast & Cheap Story Books (and the upsell) is a perfect complement to what I learned there.

Good job, girls.

Michael

EDIT: I want to thank Bill Platt (who I don't know) for his review and overview of the course on this thread. It's one of the reasons I bought this thing.

Having problems accessing the upsell. No problems with the initial materials. I've logged out and logged in again, but still no access.
By the way the course looks great.

Just cleared my cache. The extra materials have appeared.

HI There - we do have a course on what you are asking above called Picture Perfect Publishing.

This course is more about the actual illustrations - finding images, manipulating images, and combining images together.

It also shows what a finished kindle picture book should look like.....and a lot more! There is tons of content that people are loving!

Hope this helps,
Debbie

Just my two cents.
I used to have this problem. I found running cc cleaner on my computer, closing all other windows, and using a different browser to be very helpful.

Amy and Deb,
I just purchased this. My Payment Id is: AP-54X53610TA9537722. I got a receipt from JVZOO but no password. I cannot get into the site as I don't have a user name OR password. Please resolve this for me.

Hi Sarah,

Good question! Fast and Cheap is about creating storybooks with a focus on image creation and manipulation. Non Fic Pic Pro is more focused on creating non-fiction picture books. It really depends where your interest level is.
I will say Fast and Cheap requires learning more skills, they are fun and easy to learn, but there is more learning involved. thanks!

Hello,

Would this work for stories created around pet animals?

I ask because I have written the story etc and sketched (in my crap drawing hand) everything I need but I am having trouble finding an illustrator.

If so this is ideal and I will purchase it.

Thank you.

Hi,
The focus of Fast and Cheap Storybooks is to help you stretch your illustrations, and your illustration budget so you can get a variety of illustrations done cheaper.

Your story can be about pretty much anything..including animals.
thanks!
