In the mid 1950s, on his way to building one of the world’s largest advertising agencies, David Ogilvy posted the following:

Today, a year into founding a marketing and production agency of our own, we’re looking for the same – and swans of the nestling variety. (You’re just getting started.)

Hi, my name’s Edward Druce, and I work with entrepreneur and speaker Till H. Gross.

Check out his TEDx talk with 2M views .

Mine (with a mere 100,000) also.

Together we run an online course production company that creates done-for-you video courses for entrepreneurs, authors, academics and those with something to say.

Check us out here: http://courseconcierge.com

For the right person, this is a Dream Job — and dream company.

We have the opportunity for somebody to take a marketing apprenticeship directly with Till, our CEO.

While Silicon Valley companies take millions in investment and compete for established VPs and executives, we’re a bootstrapped (profit-oriented) company and so often find ourselves looking for scrappier applicants.

In our own careers, both Till and I have been the beneficiaries of older, more experienced people taking us under their wing.

I had the good fortune of landing a serious work opportunity at 17. Till had similar mentorship in his late teens touring Germany with a leading psychologist, often giving speeches in his place. We benefitted extraordinarily from these experiences and look to pay it forward.

This isn’t an ‘internship’ in the traditional sense (come in for a few weeks, pay next to nothing, and then boot you back off to college).

No, we want to start somebody’s career.

Here’s why we’re such a good team to become a part of…

- We’re brand new (just turned one year old) and you will be getting in at the ground level
- We have an unbelievably engaged team, with world-class people in every department (from video production to research to copywriting and design)
- Our clients are fantastic. NYT best-selling authors, TED speakers and Titan YouTubers. We only take on a handful and are incredibly selective in who we work with.

To apply, you don’t need to know anything.

The pioneer of modern advertising, Claude Hopkins, believed anyone with a college education should be disqualified from creating advertising. We won’t hold it against you like Claude, but we don’t mind if (like me) you don’t have one. We look for those well on their way to having ‘well-furnished minds’, nevermind how they acquire it.

The only prerequisites are:

- You’re a very good writer
- You have a general curiosity about what makes people tick
- You’re ambitious and feel like you have something to prove
- You’re willing to develop a serious work ethic.

Our promise is that we’ll invest in serious training so that a year with us makes a year at an Ivy League school look like child’s play (which often it is).

If that’s you (or you know someone who might be interested), go ahead and pitch us.

Please write back to recruiting at courseconcierge.com with a short letter noting your experience and why you think you would be a good fit. Do not send a CV or resume, just tell us why we should hire you.

We won’t be able to get back to everyone, but for those who stand out, we will be in touch to discuss next steps very shortly.

Odds and ends of the position...

We’re a remote team, but need someone in Los Angeles (Hollywood to be exact) working side-by-side with Till. If you’re not based in LA but are willing to relocate, it’s something we can help with (if you’re in the US).

You will have the dependence of a team and regular income, and the position will start at a competitive junior weekly salary.

The deadline for submissions is November 11, though those who apply sooner have an advantage.

If you haven’t heard from us by November 13, please assume that on this occasion you haven’t been selected for an interview.

We will pick one candidate from interviews to begin a paid two-week trial (to assess on-the-job performance and cultural fit) to then move ahead with the role.

Thank you for reading. Best of luck, and we look forward to hearing from you,

Edward
