My name is Monique and I run a website called SoloAdCity.com.

Solo Ad City is a text ad exchange. A text ad exchange is like a safelist - with some slight differences.

Sounds Good... But What Kind of Audience is This?

This is important.

I want you understand the audience so that you'll know exactly what to expect.

* MOST IMPORTANT: Text Ad Exchange and Safelist Members Are a SUB-NICHE of Internet Marketers

They're NOT your typical Warrior Forum members.

These folks don't do backlinking. They really don't mess around with writing Kindle ebooks. They're not into the whole tweeting thing.

Like any other sub-niche, they have their own set of necessary tasks. And if you can simply adjust your pitch to their pressing needs - BLAM - you've got their attention.

Honestly, it's really no different than marketing to any other sub-niche.

Just because birds and dogs are animals doesn't mean you'd try to sell bird food at a dog park, right?

Well that's the same premise here. To sell to text ad exchange/safelist members you have to walk and talk like a fellow member.

* A text ad exchange/safelist member is typically a network marketer, get rich quick addict (aren't we all...) or traffic solution provider (safelist site owners, guaranteed clicks sellers, etc).

* They do A LOT of advertising, so they're ALWAYS looking for methods of getting traffic fast and making the most cash from the traffic they get.

* Landing pages, splash pages and banners are standard tools for many advertisers.

* They do buy ebooks. I've found those priced under $7 yield the best results. If you can hone your message so that you're speaking directly to the safelist marketer (versus the internet marketer) even better.

* Most money making opportunities have short lifespans on safelists. Pre-launches and launches are big deals in this space.

* Offers here are usually priced under $60 and promise fast money. I wouldn't go as high as $60 though. Start out with something cheap - say under $7 to get your feet wet.

* Signing your name in ads helps build name recognition. This is how super affiliates are born in this realm. Yes... there are super affiliates in the safelist world.

* Email subject lines and landing page headlines are SERIOUSLY important.

* Opt-in pages work very well here. Again, the headline on your landing page is often the make-or-break factor.

* Subscribers respond well if you're writing with personality. Because most advertisers tend to use the exact same email copy, this is one niche where a unique personality can easily stand out and prosper.

* They're worldwide, but mainly concentrated in the United States.

What Type of Ads Work Best?

If you want opt-ins, use a short teaser email, with 3-4 lines max.

Something like, "Would you like to see how I got 10K visitors to my website last week?"

Then lead them to your opt-in page with an equally juicy headline and a couple of bullet points.

If you're trying to get sales, re-work your sales page specially for this audience.

For example, this software gets A LOT of airtime on safelists.

Any internet marketer can use this software. But the most popular ads promoting it are geared towards Empower Network members. Empower Network members use safelists.

Do you see how that works?

The software definitely isn't just for Empower Network members, but the seller brilliantly targeted their safelist sales message directly to this audience.

I don't know how much they're making, but I know they're doing well because the ads run constantly across a large number of lists. And when I say constantly, I mean CONSTANTLY.

Speaking of What Works, Would You Like to See the Subject Line for the First Email that Generated a Sale for Me?

It took me about a week to generate my first sale from my safelist ad campaign.

Here's the subject line for the email that finally got the sales ball rolling:

Total # of clicks from solo ad to landing page: 304

Yes, you are building a list a lot slower here. But I find this group to be seriously responsive IF what you're selling appeals to them.

Are There Any Ads That Aren't Allowed?

The usual suspects... no gambling, pharmaceuticals or anything adult related. No foul language in ads. No warez or illegal files. No direct linking to pages on Amazon. No pop-ups or pop-unders.

Also, these ads load in an iframe, so you'll need to make sure the page you advertise isn't a frame breaker.

How long does it take before I can begin sending out my super solo ads?

With the exception of 2 networks, all of the ads are available under your account immediately after you order. I'll add the remaining two networks within a few hours.

You can begin submitting the ads immediately.

I approve some of the ads, and the network owners approve others. I normally approve ads around 8:00-9:30am, so you'll get a full days exposure.

Can anyone sign up for Solo Ad City or is it just for paying members?

If you're curious to see what it looks like, feel free to sign up and check out the members area. There are some freebie ad options you can take advantage of.

However, please make sure you sign up with a new Gmail email or an account you don't really use. You WILL get quite a bit of mail from the site.

If you're interested in targeting this market I strongly suggest that you at least look through some of the email you receive on a daily basis. This will give you a good idea of what's selling in this market.

Plus, you'll begin to see the same names over and over again. There are super affiliates in this niche. I won't call them out, but if you pay attention to the mail you receive, you will notice that certain people are very visible in this niche. You can learn a lot just by observing.
