Sorry if this question may sound stupid..but if i have several software that I would like to install in my multiple PC,s or laptops to run 24/7 to get things done quickly, I have to buy PC's or laptops and set the internet connection at my home and run them continuously 24/7 without switching off the power.

Correct me if i am wrong, can i say that if I buy one VPS package, I can install any software which I can run continuously 24/7, so that I dont need to buy my own PC at home to run the software myself?

And another question, is this VPS using windows or linux?

Hello,

If you will use VPS then each VPS means diferent virtual machine (in your example diferent PC, laptop) so yours programs launched in it will be running 24/7 independet from your computer's power - in other words VPS is like "virtual laptop" (just for understanding).

VPS uses only Linux
VDS uses any OS (linux, Windows etc.)
DS is physical server and can use any OS
