I am a Newbie, As New As You Can Be at this and am trying to set up a optin and then a sales page on the host 1and1. I don't know much of anything but I have to have a card purchasing page and I went to stripe opened an account and 1st thing they ask me is what "language" I want to use. Node, Python, PHP,, or Ruby. I have no idea at all which to use. Sorry to be such a dufus and am probably in over my head but determined to make it through no matter what. Any help would be Greatly Appreciated! I feel like I am learning my abc's at this and found out I'm on the letter "a"! ( I have to get through this, my wife thinks it is ALL a scam, and I am a sucker. I told her it is not ALL a scam! )

I don't know much about the subject itself, but if you're just starting why not take a few tuts. you can easily find good ones all over YouTube, and Google.

Thank You Markeeter. Good Suggestion. I read one from code.tutsplus.com and he walks you through the whole thing with php, but I will go to youtube and checkout some tuts . I always tell people you can find ANYTHING on youtube and here I didn't even think of that!

      Thank You .

        Hi Rider,

I'd recommend learning something other than PHP to start with! especially if you're going to be dealing with credit cards!

Let's say you try to do something like.. allow a user to upload an image, or even their contact details, and you need to store it somewhere (db, or fs) now, if you're not 100% certain about what you're doing, you could very easily have a pretty large security hole, which would allow someone to say.. hijack your payment form (and send the details to themselves instead.. or steal email addresses, or... whatever they want really).

If your serious about getting into programming anything particularly meaningful, keep in mind that it takes several years before you'll be able to bang out code quickly and (mostly) bug free!

        Cheers,
        Michael

As a very new newbie in the internet marketing world, why are you trying to do all of this by yourself?? .. you are taking the longest and most painful route here my friend!

You know you really do not have to do all of this in order to make good money online, right!?

I would only start doing this once I'm at an advanced level here. In the meantime you should be making money online as an affiliate - so you don't have to stress too much about payment processors, refunds, chargebacks, etc.

Doing all of this on your own can really give you a lot of headaches. I don't know why you are choosing this path man ... but please do tell your reasons! .. I'd like to hear them...

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers!

BTW I sell my own products online too and I only use Paypal.

      Thank You Emtee,

I will just step back and leave that alone and reconsider what I am doing.

Thanks for showing me the possible pitfall

        Thank You Freedom Blogger;

I appreciate your input and I am stopping and putting everything on hold as I try to figure out what to do. It is my understanding that even as a affiliate you still want to present an optin page so you get the email address for your list. I can wait i guess on my own product till I have more experience at this but once you send your subscriber to an affiliate they no longer need you for that person.

As i said I am as New as New can be at this and pretty much overwhelmed and confused by it all now. So many Marketers all having the system that works best knowing some would be honest and some just sales hype. If you go by "if it sounds to good to be true it probably is" it would seem to apply to almost every offering!

Starting over and will just focus on one person again and hope it is the right one.

Thanks Again for your response and imput Freedom,

        Tom
