Looking for an honest website review

Over all, I think it's a good looking site.

When I first hit your site, it doesn't jump out at me, what the site is about. If you hadn't posted this and I visited the site, I doubt I'd really understand what the benefits of the site are. Least not until I checked out more pages. How many visitors will take the time?

Right away, there is the slide show that takes up an enormous amount of space, and only for a couple lines of text. Why all that space for that? And those slides seems to add more confusion as they seem to be snippets of articles? Give that the site is not explained, it could throw people off?This is the most valuable real estate of your site, and it's where you should be telling the visitor exactly what the site is and why the visitor should stay or read on. Sorry, just seems like a like a missed opportunity to grab the visitor. Plus it probably increases your bounce rate?

You have the about me page, seems to me that text should be at the top, or close to the top of the root page, on the page the visitor first hits.

Further down the page, I am guessing the boxes are recent posts of the site. Wouldn't a label above that section help? Such as "Recent Articles", or something along those lines.

I think it could also help to have a tagline, like next to or under your logo/site name at the top of the page. Another place to explain the concept of the site. A good USP there could make it more clear to visitors.

Really clean looking site, nice branding.

I think the solution here is to use that slideshow area on the homepage more effectively. While the site is overall clean looking, perhaps go a bit bolder in this area? More imagery and effective copy that tells us exactly what the site does and why we would want to visit!

I clicked on your website link without reading this thread first (a deliberate move). First impressions after looking around is I had no real idea what the purpose and focus of your site is.

love it, clean template and site load fast

I think it's clean and focus on the content. But personally I don't like the background of slider, I would love to add more image to describe the text and make the site look more impressive.

I think for making more clear the purpose of your site, you could replace de slider with some introductory static content in that place

I like the theme, and that looks clean
