Website has been hacked with malware- Any free software to get rid of virus?

I only use free stuff so here's my list.
Avira (antivirus.
Malwarebytes (malware).
Superantispyware (spyware).

Try those and see how you go.

Is your website or computer infected with a virus?

If it's your website then contact your hosting provider immediately.

If it's your computer, backup your most important data, format it and re-install windows.

Then just be careful on what sites you're visiting 'cause 99.9% of the time,
you're gonna have a virus no matter what antivirus you're using.

Unless you have Kaspersky

avast free anrtivirus is great for this purpose.

Malware bytes Free version runs good if you have extra money you can always go pro

If your host can't help you, then you can hire a website malware removal expert here on the warrior forum or at fiverr..

Are you using WP?

One thing you can do is to go through all the directories with an FTP client and look for recent folder or file date/time stamps. For example, a folder that has a timestamp of 6 months ago probably doesn't house the malware if this is a recent problem.

Look for .php files that are in image directories because they shouldn't be there normally.

You can also, depending on the kinds of logs you have available through your control panel, look at recent error messages. For example, if there is an error message that indicates people were looking for a piece of porn at a certain spot, that may help narrow down the problems.

Now, getting rid of whatever you find - assuming you find anything - is still the tricky part and it may require paying someone to help or a lot of research trying to figure out what to do. But if you can find it through those couple steps I mentioned, you may be able to save some money. Or maybe not.
