Please Critics My Website - Help Me Improve

Hi Warriors,

I have a website about skin care, keratosis pilaris to be exact.

The link is = Keratosis Pilaris 101 - All About KP Treatments & Remedies

I monetize the website by using Adsense and Clickbank.

However, almost 1 year running the website, I haven't made any clickbank sale and haven't reach $10 in my adsense revenue.

Currently the website has only 30 views daily from search engine.
Bounce rate over 80%

So, it would be great if someone here could give me some advice and recommendations to help me grow (in term of traffics and sales)

And also, can you recommend me free traffics generation that suitable for this type of niche. It could be great.

I really don't like to share my website with others, but it seems that I really desperate to get this website working for me.

    Hello,

    The site doesn't look too bad, but i would just make sure to capture people's email address and build a funnel to promote the Clickbank products.

    Your traffic isn't that high, but i'm sure with a good funnel you would have made some sales already.

    So yeah that's the first thing i would do, and keep adding seo optimized content to increase traffic.

        I went thru your site, when I got to the Store page below the Amazon link, there is a big square in several places that have a http 403 error code.

        I would look up the error code. And also check to see if all your themes and plugins are up to date. Other than that you have a nice site.

    Im coming from a web designers and marketer's point of view, so I will go into all the details for you:

    1. The Header
    -Remove the ad (ads dont belong in headers)
    -Get a logo and a header professionally designed

    2. Your Opt-In Pop Up
    -Add some graphics
    -Have a more interesting headline
    -Building a list can generate you lots of money

    3. Your Traffic
    -Create social media profiles
    -Forums
    -Youtube
    -Facebook ads!
    -Do some simple Google research for some more traffic methods
    -Traffic is the life blood of any website, so it's very important you focus on driving traffic

    4. The Featured Product
    -Remove it and add an opt-in form for a free eBook (the money is in the list!)
    -Promote products in posts and reviews

    5. Making Money
    -The real way to build a six figure blog/website is to get clients
    -You can get clients by providing a service ect... (get creative)
    -Ads and affiliate products will not do as well as getting clients (as you know 1st hand already)

    Other Tips
    -In your menu "Article" should be "Articles"
    -I would look in to upgrading the store. Maybe try the Woocommerce Wordpress plugin

    So those are just a couple tips I have for you, I hope the best for your online business!

    Well, you hit me immediately with a sign up nag form, and that is a huge turnoff. Probably 80% of the time this happens , I hit that "back" button. Put that nag screen on a delay. No one wants to sign up for your newsletter as soon as they land on your site. No.One.

    Change "Article" in the navigation to "Articles."

    I would change "More from my site" to "More From This Site" to enhance authority.

    There are some typos and omissions in the content that are hampering your projection of authority.

      Oh, I did not noticed the error before. The last time I checked it is okay. All my themes and plugins are up-to-date. Thanks for the info.

      Thanks Nathan for the long reply, here are my responds:

      1. Header - I place adsense on header because it is recommended by adsense team (since many website place one on their websites), then I thought it is a great idea, so I do the same. - I'll try get the header working.

      4. Featured product - I'll change it accordingly

      Other tips
      - Article ==> Articles - DONE
      - store, currently I use automatic amazon store plugin, thanks for the recommendation.

    If you want to focus on getting better Google Adsense income, then you need more (a lot more) targeted traffic. Remember, you need product buyers since these are people who click ads that may be relevant to the solutions they want. You should also optimize how your ads are displayed on your site...

    If you want to start getting affiliate product sales for the CB products that you're promoting, then you need a compelling opt-in offer (something like a document that provides the top 10 home recipes recommended by medical experts to treat and prevent keratosis pilaris) -- An email newsletter subscription that offers updates and newsletters and nothing else won't cut it when it comes to getting subscribers (didn't notice a pop-up opt-in form for a featured product or anything when I went to your site and browsed through it for a few minutes); and

    You need to focus on promoting this opt-in offer offsite and onsite, so you must place your opt-in offer front and center in your homepage, and you shouldn't place Google ads or any other ad in your homepage. Also:

    For your subscribers -- Set up follow-up emails with more content that's supplemental to the benefits provided by your opt-in offer. If some of your CB affiliate products can provide supplemental value to your subscribers, then provide them with insightful details and first hand accounts about the value that they can gain from your CB affiliate products in those follow-up emails...

    Hello, Whilst I appreciate hard work. You need to make the web site a lot cleaner, crisper and sharper. Most websites I have I noticed people go to. People have virtually already made up their mind if they want a particular product or not so keeping the web site as clean as possible and presented nicely will see results.

    5 star rating, exceptional testimonials telling people how awesome your product is will go a long way.

    You have plenty of content which is great. Thumbs up on minifying your html.

    What you need is a traffic process to implement as you publish your content. You need to apply SEO to each post and re-publish it to social media and email.

    You should also do a re-design. Your current design is too bland, not enough colour and graphics. The areas where you want people to click are not prominent enough.

    I suggest you work with a designer to make your site more attractive. I specialise in Genesis themes if you're interested.

      I'm planning to keep updating the blog with fresh content, quite struggling though..

      I'll try my best to do the SEO thing, I need to be very careful since doing it wrong will result a terrible result. - some of my post do rank in page 1 of Google, but for very low competitive keyword.

      Regarding the theme, yes I do agree with your point. Currently I use Genesis Framework, just the framework, no child theme.. well at least for now.. I'm planning to change the theme when I have time to do so.

    I have change my website a little bit.

    The changes are:
    1. Theme
    2. I edit some of the content
    3. Email subscription delay to 30 seconds (still working for the lead magnets)

    Hope you guys can give me more recommendations in this.

      Theme looks ok but here's what I would do

      1. Improving articles and their SEO focusing on "FEAR and SOLUTIONS".

      2. Move your book cover up and out of the footer and to the top right. Maybe even with catchy graphic offering a few free chapters in exchange for an email. At least make it enticing. Not like here's my book. Make people want to READ it by making it scream "SOLUTION".

      3. The optin is to generic and boring. People who come to your site want immediate info to curing this problem. They can care less about getting updates or news. And why should they? They want help now. The current optin alone is causing people to leave.

      Try placing a optin inside a short article on the main page. So you would have something like two articles then one enticing article that requires a email sign up to continue reading followed by more articles. Just make sure the article is something they want like 3 things causing your chicken skin or what to do tonight that will put you on the road to clearer skin.

      4. I would also make the right sidebar an ideal area for some "chicken skin pictures" that hammer home here is what you look like to others. They already know it but seeing others really makes people think about themselves. And then a few pictures of happy people with clear skin. Think rag mag (enquirer, globe etc.) How they use pictures and titles to get their point across.

      Make sure to TELL them to click or take action in this space also.

      5. Don't be afraid to sell. Don't be afraid to sell. Don't be afraid to sell.

      Remember - FEAR and SOLUTION. NO one is hitting your blog for anything other than how can i get rid of this once and for all. Only question is - are you going to help them NOW.
