New Website Review

Hi guys, recently I had just set up my first travel website and I would like to have some suggestions and comments for it. It's pretty raw and i just want to know my mistakes before I proceed further. Greatly appreciate and thank you.

    Add some text under your "Adventure" graphic so that the button underneath lines up with the others. Currently, this make the above the fold content look lopsided. Other wise it looks like a perfect good start to what could potentially be a really nice website. I think sometimes with review requests you have to accept no news as good news.

        hi everyone, every time if I did some changes to my website, I need to go to setting > permalinks > save changes. the question is, do I need to login to Google webmaster tools and resubmit my sitemap? ?

          if change in your permalink structure changed the URLs, then you have to update your sitemap, apply proper redirects then resubmit to google.
          p.s. changing permalinks very often is not good thnig as it will give rise to 404 errors & any backlinks to internal pages of your website will become invalid

    The site looks great! I see it's not really ready yet, you still need to add some text to different categories, and i would also like to suggest to maybe make the big text clickable as well, the text that says Adventure, About, Retreat. You only made the pictures clickable, I think making the text clickable as well would help.

      Your site looks pretty good. Well done for making a decent start!

      In terms of improvements, here are some areas that I think you should look at:

      (1) English language. It's by no means terrible - especially if you're not a native english speaker - but some of the writing could definitely be improved. For example, "It's about YOU, simply not just another usual travel website!". That's not a good sentence! And it's not a snappy strapline.

      If you do want something along those lines, then...

      "A different kind of travel website"
      "A new kind of travel website"
      "Putting YOU at the heart of YOUR holiday"

      ..? Have a play around with more options.

      (2) Your site appears to be entirely about Taiwan, yet your site name and strapline are more general. Focusing on Taiwan is a good idea - "travel" is too general - but you need to make your niche clearer in the header and elsewhere on your homepage.

      (3) The three options half way down the homepage are: Adventure, About and Retreat. You need to make it clearer what each of these options are, and order them more sensibly.

      Adventure seems to give me somewhere to adventure. Retreat is somewhere relaxing. About is just about your site!

      Move the about page away from that area and instead have a section like:

      What kind of holiday do YOU want?

      An exciting adventure
      A relaxing retreat
      A city break

      Etc...

    i like when you hover the pictures and they widen ) i don't like the navigation bar, nor the logo, if that is your logo. they take too much space.
