What is bandwith in webhosting?

Please I would like to host my forum script in a webhost. But I want to understand something; what is the meaning of bandwidth? And what does it mean to have a bandwidth of "100GB/month"?

It is just like your internet connection with limite internet and for hosting limited visits to your site. 100 GB is enough for a great forum and you were still have to build so no need to worry.

Bandwidth is the amount of data that can be transferred at one time. Data transfer is the actual amount of data transferred. Think of it this way. If bandwidth were a tunnel, the bigger the tunnel the more cars can pass through it.
