I just found this at random with a search for "content writing service".

I would take a look around at what others are doing and make a list of the things you like, and the services you feel you may want to offer.

You could use WordPress with the Avada Theme for instance which will build you a site like this very easily.

What is most important I guess is that you can show some examples of your work, some prices, and that you are easily contactable.

Ever thought of using Odesk, SEO Clerks, People Per Hour, etc.? They ALREADY have customers / traffic on the site. Plus, they have the platform that allows feedback from your customers, ability to upload some past work, etc.

I think it's an easier way to get started than doing it from scratch.

Wordpress sounds perfect for your purposes. You're looking to create a static home page for your content writing service with about us, contact us e.t.c. Wordpress would be a simple solution for you, don't bother with other fancy things. You don't need it right now.

I like to use Hostgater their Baby Plan it's great if you want to transfer unlimited domain there and it's cheap. I got my for 1 cent first month. LOL. WP is free you just install it in your Cpanel.

  @OP: Do you actually have professional experience writing? If so, then I hope you live in a third-world country (with extremely low cost of living), as amateur writers make peanuts. It's why so many mommy hobby blog writers do it these days.

These days WORDPRESS is the best Platform.
WordPress is an established framework, so sites do not need to be built from scratch (very expensive), yet it is flexible enough to be customized as much as you desire.
