Hey Warriors!

I have an HTML web site theme that supports video to be played in the background of the Home page.

I had a 8 second MP4 video that looped and played on my Home page.....but I dont want to self host the video and use lots of bandwidth.

I have tried to host the video on Google drive.....spent several calls with Google support and cant seem to get it working.

Also Im concerned about my Google drive bandwidth limitations.

What works best for hosting a 10 second MP4 video clip for looping on my web page?

Thanks!

Bret

  • I will suggest to host your video on Amazon Web services and make sure the video is optimized.
  • You can use https://vimeo.com/

  • Have you considered turning the video into a animated GIF and using that instead?
  • What about youtube?
    Maybe vimeo, metacafe etc?
  • Youtube: it's fast, but looks ''cheap'' to most people. Also, limited customization.
Vimeo: looks cooler, but their sign-up process is not very straight forward to me. Google up and you'll see lots of people dont get their confirm email as soon as they sign up. Maybe they treat their paid customers better, I'm not sure.

I recommend Wistia: They have a free version. Try it out... and you'll never leave them. Vid layout is clean, easy to customize, great to host on any Wordpress sites too.

    Hope that helps

    • Yes...I decided to use Wistia free version.

Plenty of bandwidth and video stats, etc.

Thanks to all for the ideas and suggestions!
  • Sorry, I'm a little late to the party...

    2 recommendations:
wistia and yuvid. I'm testing both of these in the next month.
Yuvid is new, has a free version, and some interesting extras like autoresponder in the video itself.
  • Hi,

First of all you not lose that much bandwidth with such a short video.

But If you not want to do it yourself, and you not like YouTube, go for vimeo, a lot of AAA companies use it.

What about Vimeo. did you try with it?

    Youtube and dailymotion.

Try You tube to promote your videos.
  • I would say YouTube, because it's easy to use. But I would choose Vimeo, because it looks very professional.

    Good luck!
