Hi, I have set up many wordpress multisite with subdomains and never had this issue before and could use some advice on how to find the problem.

The site is Whitehead Educational Consulting | Just another WordPress site with subdomain http://reviews.whiteheadec.com/

I've added the wildcard subdomain to the cpanel *.whiteheadec.com

The client setup the domain name but instead of using nameservers he used the IP address due to using office 360 email. Could this cause the issue?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I don't know what you mean about the office 360 email part, but, yeah, using the IP address of a web site in some place where nameservers are required could cause a problem.

Also, querying the nameserver (ns61.domaincontrol.com) for whiteheadec.com doesn't return an IP address for reviews.whiteheadec.com. Maybe wildcarded subdomains isn't set up properly for the domain. I'll bet that for some reason, your nameservers don't know about reviews.whiteheadec.com.

I can load the site, reviews.whiteheadec.com, in a browser if I add the subdomain reviews.whiteheadec.com and the right IP (23.235.194.93) to my hosts file. So it's clear you have wordpress multi-site working properly. You just have a DNS problem that you need to get sorted out with your host, or figure it out yourself. I'm pretty sure you could just ask your web host to add a wildcard entry on your domain and everything would be peachy.

Thank you, you pretty much confirmed what I thought.
