Hello everyone, I need a bit of Help regarding my site.

There are two different versions of my site indexed in Google.

https://www.theblackfridaycoupons.com/

and

http://www.theblackfridaycoupons.com/

Just type of both type of URL's in Google search and you will see both two in top positions.

But the problem is, I am only using the HTTP version, So, I want to redirect that HTTPS version to HTTP.

Is there any way to do so? either with a Plugin or Manually?

Urgent Help Needed.

  • In your Google Webmaster Account you can set the preferred option for display. If you don't have a GWA, get one

    • Well, In GWA, we can only set www or non-www versions, there is no such option to select http or https.
  • I can assure you that your https version of your site isn't indexed by Google.

    It gets a:

A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt

Additionally, if you try to go to that URL, it gets a 404 not found error.

    • Yeah it shows "A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt", but still it is showing in Google, not only the homepage, but a post url too.

      Example:
      https://www.theblackfridaycoupons.com/2011/08/

This URL also indexed and shows the same robots.txt message in search description.

  • Redirects all HTTPS traffic to HTTP, except for specific exceptions

Use Force non-SSL Plugin is the best for redirection .https://wordpress.org/plugins/force-non-ssl/
  • Only use this plugin if you have installed SSL certificate on your site and HTTPS is working correctly. After you install SSL certificate on your site, you want to use the "HTTPS" URL of your webpages. You want to force search engines to index your HTTPS version of the webpage.
