Could anyone recommend a webdesign course?

Well you can check udemy .. Their are lots courses related to your need. I didn't have taken any course so I dont recommend you which one you should have choose. But you can choose one by reviews of other students and star ratings.

You can find course that are high cost like $299 but you can get high discount coupon for free by udemy if u create a new account.

If it is PHP I doubt you would need a course. As opposed to just learning PHP you may as well work with a framework like Wordpress, Joomla or Drupal (technically CMSs but they can be used as frameworks). They are all PHP. Zend is a bit more difficult but is good if you learn how to use it. There are a few other frameworks like Symphony, Cake and Code igniter that you may wish to look into.

You will find information in abundance just over the internet. I have to admit I learned databases at university but it is not that difficult if you think logically.

I would suggest that you go about deciding what you want to do and then just find out how to do it. Bear in mind that a lot of amateurs use PHP so the quality of information is not always great. Try to find people who are professional and teach how to do things professionally. I am mostly a C# person but PHP is not much different. It is all interpreted as opposed to some of the code being compiled like in asp.net. PHP is a good way to go though because you will find plenty of help.

If you want to learn about php , Khan academy will provide you a best tutorial(100%free).You can visit the w3schools.com for learning code.
You have to make your PC as a server. you have to install xampp or wamp(i prefer xampp) for coding php.
you will get a lot of free tutorial about installing xampp and learning php in Youtube.

Go to amazon and buy or order from your library: The Missing Manual books. They are simply the BEST! End of!

Good way to learn codind these days is with lynda.com they offer some good video tutorials. I learned a lot from there.

youtube , search how to design website using bootstrap

Definitely PHP & SQL, or just be a wordpress expert learn it inside out and all their plugins.

Being a wordpress expert saves you time, money and effort on a website that can look 5x better than a custom made website.

I have learned everything I know about WordPress web design from U tube
I am a WP site designer now and have started making a living from WP site design as well as landing pages

U tube is free and its full of great content no need to pay fro an expensive course unless you really want to spend your money

Read tutorials, watch tutorial videos, do practice, the more you do practice the more you learn. You may take of web designing software like templatetoaster, dreamweaver so that you may get an idea that how the code is being generated.

w3schools is best to learn things free.But if you really want to spend money then try udemy.
