Wordpress vs General programming.

What are your guys' thoughts on this subject? Personally, I think everyone is started to use wordpress and by this time 10 years, programming will be depricated. I think softwares like wordpress should only be used for rare purposes. You can do some many cool things with html/css/javascript/php/jquery. I think everyone should start learning how to program instead of taking it the easy way.

Anywho, what are your guys' thoughts on this subject?

    Why reinvent the wheel? To program a CMS comparable to WordPress would take 1000's of man hours.
