    I would say $500-$1500 but in reality it depend of your clients relations, the market around his place, his health, what are you giving him as extra etc...

    There`s many many many factor that influence the price of a website, i tried to fit my clients need and the money they can spend (i also offter my websites at /month price, around $40-60 /month for a small website with hosting)

    Allways give top quality service, extra,etc... it will make you a lot more money this way, example i provide a top quality hosting on a top speed VPS (i do security+update+monitor..) and my clients are very happy to pay 20$-30$ /month only for that premium service.

    your customers want the best, put that in your head and do awesome work for them

    That really depends. I wouldn't build a website, even from a template, for $1000. What value do you bring to the table, beyond being able to set up a WordPress theme?

    If you bring added value, then you should be charging a premium price. If you're just getting started and want to build your portfolio, then sure, do it for $500 or $1000.

    Be aware that projects will always take longer than you hope. Clients can be difficult, technology breaks, and plugins or functionality you've never used before will have a learning curve.

    I never tell my website clients what my hourly rate is. I figure out the job, figure out how many hours, apply my hourly rate I've set for myself, and tell them the total. I'm fast and I'm good, so I can charge more per hour and yet keep the total amount competitive.

    What people are willing to pay depends on what part of the country they are in. So keep that in mind as well.
