      I found a Single File PHP Gallery the other day when I was looking for fast and efficient ways of sharing photos on my own web server.

      You basically just create a folder with the .php file inside and then put a bunch of images next to it. Then, when you browse to that file, you'll notice it has already generated a gallery for you.
