So I bought a few sites the other day and while transfering them to my ownership I inadvertently overwrote an existing word press database.

I lost my entire sites contents.
BUT!
I got them back.

I tried to get assistance from my hosting company, but they only keep 1 week of backups. The update had happened after I made the error.

SO!

I went to google and typed in the URL of my website. I then clicked the "cached" link that is located to the right of each result . I was able to collect the majority of my lost site!

So if you've lost your site, or in the future if you ever do, remember this little tip

I'm sure this google cache probably doesn't last long though so you have to act quick.

Ah, the power of archives. =) That's actually been around for quite a while, and there's a better site for it.

    http://www.archive.org

It's good that you got most of your content back, but try Archive.org. Sometimes you can get more than what you get from Google's cache.

Lol, I was just looking at my old site explosiveoctopus.com (Yes, I know, weird name) Still has all the images and content. I still have all of this saved, but I think it's funny I can still find it, lol.
