I think there are too many colours that don't look good with each other and also too many fonts, some of them are hard to read and it makes it look scruffy.

Hire a real designer.

I don't want to be mean, but the offer in the footer is unintentionally hilarious. No one would want a website like this.

The spacing, centering, fonts and layout have so many errors it makes the content illegible.

Consistency is totally lacking. That is a critical problem for credibility, readability, and retention.

Did Dave decide to save a few hundred bucks and have a high school student friend of the family make this site?

A Craigslist designer could crank out a templated WP site in a couple days that would look MUCH better than this...and it would not be expensive at all. Plus it's a tax-deductible expense.

Again, not trying to be mean. If he wants to be taken seriously online, he is going to have to invest a little more into the effort.

3. The top main menu is disorganized. There's no rhyme nor reason.

  Other than saying he likes to travel and "anything is possible" he has told us nothing about himself, the site, his business or why we should visit.
  
  The "About Us" page is an excellent opportunity to tell your visitors what's in it for them?
  
  Without a consistent message and focused business idea the site fails to target anyone.
  
  What is the core business? Are you selling something? Building a list and sending affiliate offers? Building an MLM downline?
  
  What is the market/audience he is targeting? What do they want? What can you offer?
  
  The site says: Start Using Global Web Concepts Online today
  
  But I don't know what Global Web Concepts is, I don't know how to use it and I don't know how it will help me. Why would I want to start using it today?
  
  These things should be clear in the copy.
  
  I think you need to:
  
  1) Decide what your core business is. What do you offer? Who is your audience? Why should they chose you? Make this clear in every area of the web site: Intro, About us, articles, etc.
  
  2) Revamp the design so it is less dated looking, provides access to all the information without having to dig around. A "Most Popular" or "Recomended" links to content would help.
  
  3) Create an opt-in form and start building a list.
  
  4) Make sure your message is priming the audience for what you have to offer

Hi Wayne,

If it was me, I'd use a more consistent font throughout, it seems each picture, title, main paragraph all have different fonts,

The footer's formatting needs fixing badly (and removing the advert from the designer.)

The colour scheme is a bit conflicting, try looking up what colour you'd want it to be, if relaxation is contemplation is the direction they want to target, maybe orange isn't the colour they need.

I like the idea, it just needs a bit of buffing up before it shines fully!

Use Wordpress - learn it or something similar and you won't regret it. Bit of a learning curve but not much
Too many fonts
The message about it is a bit lost
The blog has nothing on it
Have the blog as the landing page if you are trying to attract a following - and update it
Review the Amazon books instead of just listing them all

My guess would be that it was possibly you who created this site and trying to negate potential negative feedback by claiming it was a friend. There is no shame in it. We all have to start somewhere. The very first site I created a few years back looked pathetic, but it enbled me to learn through trial and error from there on in. These days, of course, it so much easier. There are so many pretty good free templates around its all a matter of setting up wordpress. You can even create free logos to upload to the site.

Thankyou for taking the time to comment, but you are sooooooooooo wrong, This is clearly not me( look at the pictures of me and him, I was asked by David to critic he's website, I simply didn't feel confident telling a friend of 20 years what I though, Not my style. so I simple asked for feedback from more experienced and savvy professionals here on the forum.
The comments and information I receive from this thread will be passed to David so that he can speak to he's designer and get he's site to suit the niche that he decides to go into.

The site needs some serious work, Wayne.

The site is globalwebconceptsonline.com, but the site was designed by greatestwebconceptsonline.com? The second site does not exist.

The popup whenever I go near any of the social buttons is extremely annoying and distracting.

The copy makes no sense, should not be orange, spacing needs to be better, font maybe less bold, and definitely not centered.

A reverse Google search of "50-something" Dave's image brings up other names and such, leading me to believe that the image is fake.

The site creator Andy is building up web services for Fiverr: https://www.fiverr.com/tremac915. If he believes his services are only worth $5, I would never hire him for a professional website.

On your free downloads page you are giving away copyrighted content, which is illegal.

There are very few things "right" about this website. I wish you the best of luck in fixing them, though.

Hey Wayne, from my point of view what's wrong with your site at first glance is the giant bold ORANGE writing in center format going right down the middle.

From a presentation and style point of view (and so much more than I can explain is based on style and presentation) it's a huge NO.

You need to add structure to your text and re-size parts of it. The use of such a bold orange is too strong on the white background - it looks like a messy, un-formatted sales copy - it needs to be presented cleanly, clearly and stylishly.

Hi Wayne,

The design of the site in question leaves little doubt that the business putting up such a site is not in touch with current web business design or functionality. It's like seeing a house built in 1950 planted in the midst of a new subdivision . . . it's way behind the times.

Unfortunately for your friend/site owner, people will see the design and assume that the business is also "out of touch."

Go here and note the overall design of the web site: Digital Marketer . This is more in keeping with what present-day money generating web sites look like.

The overall design feels old. I would like to see a responsive version of the site that works on mobile too.

It's not clear for me what the visitor have to do. I see that is related to motivational videos. But maybe overall it would be better to make an authority site that helps people with quality articles about self-esteem, motivation and how to manage your work. You gather some signups and later you make your own product or promote an affiliate product that is related to your audience.

As everyone else suggested you should consider using wp it will be easier for you to fix and change/customize what you don't like.
Then the SEO wp will make it easier for visitors to reach you.
Now what I understand it is a motivational blog you should cancel the financial part if you are really interested doing it then it shouldn't be included with the motivational website.

Update us if you did any changes.
