Hi All,

A special thank you to all your warriors that take your time to help everyone out.
I have learnt a lot form this forum and I hope to keep on doing so.

After taking notes of tips i have been receiving i have made changes to my site.
I have started creating articles like, Tips for playing golf in the rain
and an improve your golf section with articles like; Putting! the best area to improve your golf.

I have a lot more to write, but I was wondering if anyone would be willing to quickly review these 2 pages and point out if I am doing anything wrong, or that would effect my conversions.

This would be handy before I add the rest of the articles, so that I don't make the same errors on them.

    A good tip is to make list-style blog posts. People are more likely to click on a link for '5 Putting Tips' than your title, they can see they're only getting into a short read and aren't intimidated by it. If you put a number in your title and create a few short-ish points with a picture for each, this creates a much easier to read blogpost.

      Hi Iseult,
      Thanks for the tip, does this not cause an issue because there are so many sites with the same titles for the articles, I thought i needed to try and make them slightly different.

    My impression is that you are just trying to sell me something. The Amazon ads in your posts make the site seem kind of spammy.

    I would tone down the commercial aspect and maybe link to your products and have them on a separate page.

      Hi Brent,

      Thanks for the comment. I thought that showed that I was recommending a supplier they know and can trust. Instead of trying to sell them a product, when the chances are they have never been to my site before.

      Once I do have more content, I plan to do a review of the products. Once i have these i will go back through the posts and change the links to the reviews.

      Do you think that this would be better?
      Should trying to promote and sell a certain product be more important than sending a customer to Amazon, so that i get that important cookie on their computer?

    Popup appears too early; give your readers a chance to start absorbing content.

    It also reappeared after I clicked to close it!

    The popup headline is not strong enough or properly worded for a Yes/No choice. You want it to be skewed towards Yes.

    The Amazon buy buttons are too in-your-face. They distract away from the content. There are too many of them littered through the content. Less is more.

    I think it's OK that some products are displayed higher in the content. But six or more (over two, IMO) are too many.

      Thanks for the input Jason.

      I have change the time of the pop up, what would you recommend changing the wording to, Something like " Do you keep loosing your golf balls?" "Would you like some on us?"

      I'm not sure why it popped up twice, I will have to look into that one.

      Point taken, less is more. I will make some changes.

        I agree with Jason - way too many products showcased. Amazon already shows everything they sell, you don't have to.

        The only other thing I'm going to add is that the second article is ripe for a curiosity title. Maybe something like "How can wasting 15 minutes at work cut ten strokes off your score?" I know you can likely come up with something better, but you get the idea, I hope.

    I was recommending a supplier they know and can trust.
    I personally wouldn't buy anything from Amazon and don't trust them as far as I could throw a Mack truck. I am also a golfer.
