If I'm wanting to open a community that is centered around gaming, sharing ideas, and maybe ultimately setting up a news feed similar to facebook, what plugins would you guys suggest for interaction within my site?

It doesn't have to be like facebook's news feed, but I want my users interacting, sharing data, files, etc.
