Hi everyone, nice to be here.

Here's my first post.

I am looking a starting an internet/online side to my will writing business.I have been using Wordpress and like it for the CMS aspects and flexibilty.

I am looking at a new site built to mimic what I am doing now (blogging/lots of pages/reference set) all about the world of wills and trusts, with some selling online perhaps no more than a dozen options to buy (probably less) and a fairly 'in depth' set of questions for me to give me a the requisite information to do the wills myself offline.

I hope that makes sense.

Would Wordpress be a good platform? If not what would be better?

Thanks in anticipation.

Bill

    Bill, hi,

WordPress would be a great platform for you to do this - but please don't think that adopting WordPress would be the instant solution.

Whatever platform you use will never remove the responsibility of doing the ground work and putting in the effort to get your business recognised online.

That means lots of original, useful, valuable content (articles) that are good enough for people to want to link to and bookmark, and lots of work to promote your blog and turning it into an authority site.

If you're thinking of doing a blog style site you'll find a lot of information at my blog (signature link below) but you should also explore http://www.problogger.net (Darren Rowse's blog). There's a host of information there - it's a real goldmine.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

Welcome to WarriorForum. I think Wordpress would be an excellent choice. I briefly looked over your existing site and wanted to say you've done a great job with it. If you stick with Wordpress to add an ecommerce plugin, take your pick from the following.

    Hi Bill,

You need to install shopping cart plugin for WP and you are done...

If in any case wordpress does not behave the way you wanted it...
you may also consider next option i.e. Joomla
    Joomla!

    Regards,
