Another one of my crazy website ideas.

I have a bad habit of registering domains thinking I may be able to turn it into some cool website in the future. Some I just hang on to, and others I just let expire. I think I'm getting too old to continue this cycle and need to focus more on Internet Marketing :-)

I need your opinion on another one of my crazy ideas. Should I just leave it alone or attempt to make something out of it? My crazy idea was to try and create a website that only sells one product at a time, like some other sites out there. I figured it would be easier to sell one product.

I did this for a few months and lost interest. I had the payment module disabled, but a few people still managed to sign up. A few days ago I decided to turn the site into an user generated content site.

I wanted a site where the community can add links to their favorite places to shop online or to any great product or deals they find on the web. This is not a product comparison site, but more like a central hub to find cool products and places to shop online. Please take a peek at unobuy.com and let me know what you think. Thanks.

    There are so many of the sites that I don't know if you would be able to crack in on it. Also, you might get a lot of spam.

    That's so crazy its good
    But seriously, if you think its worth it, you should go for it, you havent got that much to loose, especially if you're just going to let the domain expire otherwise. I think the site could turn out well if it gets good traffic and is advertised well.

      Thanks for your input everyone. I think I'm going to keep it up for a month or 2. If I see visitors are adding a few sites, I may start promoting.

    Having a good idea can never be crazy (and don't let anyone tell you something else).
    If you do it right and it's social/feedback centered you could end up having a nice 3.0 site concept which can make it out there.

      Unobuy seems to be more on social bookmarking site, as what cheapdeal said.

      But if more and more visitor is using your services then why not give it a shot.

        It is a bookmarking site, but only for sites that sell products. Looking at cheapdeals sig, he is the perfect candidate for a site like this. If he got bumped to the top under his category he would naturally get more hits to his site.

        Speaking for my self, I know that when I want to shop for something online, I don't normally know were to start. I site like this can give you an idea of where most people are shopping for certain products.

        I started a group for Internet Marketing and SEO products. I've come across a lot of great products recommended on this forum. I'm going to add all the good ones I see. If anyone is interested, please feel free to add one to get a feel of how the site works and provide feed back on its functionality. Thanks.

    Actually, I had that same idea a couple months back. But I too lost complete interest in it and decided to move on. Today, I've decided I post onto the Warrior Forums to find affiliates to help me promote my new product!
    Who knows, I might even help you back in the future!
