    • It appears that this is not an attempt to spam. This is not a website link.

It is an example to better illustrate the question.
  • Hyphen in a url is not good for giving reference of your site verbally to your customers and your customers will often feel trouble inserting hyphen in url.
  • A website name with a hyphen is a very bad idea for your website visitor and also google
  • It's okay but not recommendable as users would usually type a word directly on the url bar to search for a site and looking for the hyphen is commonly seen as a time-consuming process.

My opinion because I feel the same way when encountering a site with a hyphen. :0
  • A website name with a hyphen is not recommendable by me personally so it is absolutely not a good idea.
  • "The" is frowned upon in the game of SEO with all domains, don't care what extension (.com, .net, .org, .co, etc.). Also, not very good for branding and market consistency. Try and find a variable or synonym based off "Whatever" (Ex: whatevernow, whateverforever, etc.) and run it through a domain suggestion tool.

Also, you better come with a strong design or landing page behind a domain name like that, or say hello to "bounce rates" (your new best friend), seeing as it is an impulse click and people will leave the page quickly feeling uninspired. You will be likely to capitalize at all on such a domain/brand name.
