Hello everyone,

I'm using hostgator with cpanel and I installed wordpress with a free theme I found using fantasico.

I don't like the theme as it doesn't seem to work very well for a sales page and I wanted to change from that wordpress page to using one I made with Kompozer.

How do I take my index.html I made in kompozer and make it display instead of the wordpress site?

Please layman terms work best for me!

Thanks very much!

Mm

Just delete the index that shows in the cPanel and then upload your new one.

If you want to use the layout you made with Kompozer and still want the Wordpress, then rename the index.php associated with Wordpress to main.php. Upload your new index.html and link to your Wordpress' main.php file.

If you want to use JUST the layout from your Kompozer and not keep Wordpress, simply just uninstall Wordpress from Fantastico and place your file(s) in your directory.

If you need any further help, don't hesitate to ask. =)

    Mm,
    waloosh is right.

Unless you want all the pages on your site to look the same. Having your index.php page look like one site. Then your WP pages looking like another may be a bit confusing to your readers. And is damn sure not a way to increase the visibility of your brand. Why not change your wp template to look like your Kompozer page?

    Just a bit confused,
    Gene
