I would suggest go for Genesis framework, all of the big bloggers are using the genesis framework and it is easy to handle with SEO optimized and most importantly quick response and speed result

And the URL which you have shared both those websites are created on Canvas theme. However that wont be a bad choice either but still i'm a big fan of Genesis not only because other big blogging platforms and bloggers are using it but bcz it has clean and simple look.
