How should I bill clients on a retainer?

I'm a Web Designer, Digital Marketer, and SEO specialist. I'm looking at changing my business model to a retainer-style program. I need to bill clients on a retainer, and I'm not sure how to go about doing this. I want to be able to have them automatically invoiced monthly so that they can manually pay each month and/or get them to input their payment information one time so that the payment will be collected monthly. I am currently using PayPal to take payments, but I can't seem to find anything through paypal that will take care of this for me. I want something different than their "Subscription" button service.
Any advice?
