Hey Warriors,

I'm on the lookout for a new code/text editor. Anyone have suggestions/alternatives to Adobe Brackets?

  • As Wartest said, Sublime Text it's a great solution. It's fast, easy to use, powerful, it has a great community and a lot of addons. Another similar alternative is Atom, which is free and open source, but it's slower.

  • I am using dreamweaver and Notepad++ both are awesome.

  • I have not used Adobe Brackets so I do not know what is its perfect alternative. But there are many text/code editors are available. I will recommend Notepad++ and Atom as they are free.

  • Huge barckets fan here - Brackets - A modern, open source code editor that understands web design.

    For being free and mac/windows compatible you really can't beat.

    Also has a great development community.

  • I use Notepad ++... It's free, it's simple and it's effective.

  • Notepad++ is my favourite. I would definitely recommend it.

  • Yes Notepad++ is the best above all. Recommended

  • Update: I've been playing around with Atom and Sublime, both have their perks. Sublime's definitely the clear winner for Visual Basic, but I still prefer Brackets....

    I'll give Notepad++ a go on my old Windows system but I forgot to mention I'm a Mac-addict haha

  • Sublime, Notepad++, Dreamweaver, etc are the best code editors....
  • Personally I used Sublime text editor, it is free and supports a wide range of languages. As well as you can choose your own color scheme that fits your mood.

    Sublime is on of the light weight text editor. I recommend
  • If you are writing Visual Basic, have your tried Visual Studio?
