.net or .org

Hi I'm a yoga teacher who has the option between .org or .net for my website domain. I will have a basic page that will have class info, blog posts and an email contact. I do not presently have my own studio and am hiring studio space but this may change further down the line. Does anybody have any advice over whether .net or .org are better suited to my needs and sector.

    Is the .com name already taken? I would say if the .com is already taken... try to figure out a different URL to purchase where the .com is still available. Maybe use "-" if possible.

      Agreed 100% If the .COM is already taken, a lot of your potential visitors will still end typing .COM and end up in the wrong (as far as you are concerned) place.

      It's not difficult to work out a slightly different name, although I disagree with resorting to using a hyphen. It's a mistake I made with one of my sites and it confuses people.

        .com and .co.uk are already taken and I'm already up and running with this name on my Facebook page. Will consider some new variants maybe. Thank you

    It does not really matter which domain name extension you use.

    Are you planning to grow your business into an Organization (have multiple people working for you and with you)? - If so, then the .org would be a great choice.

    But, if you are just looking to build an online presence and you are going to be focusing more on the Blogging aspect and internet marketing aspect of your business - then .net sounds good.

    Either way, it doesn't really matter what you choose. It is more of a personal choice than anything else.

    Just my thoughts to help you out here

    Because it's your yoga class business, .com should be your priority.

    Use .net when your planning to build a big network for yoga, yoga students, teachers, enthusiasts and hobbyist.

    Use .org when you plan to build a yoga organization.

    For personal website .com is my first preference but if it has already been taken you can go with .net it will not make any difference.

    Which ever you buy all are good, the main thing is that you have to promote your site in search engine so that people can see it easily.
