Problem setting up my second domain

Hi WF, I'm having some problems with my second domain, a long time ago I set up mi first domain on Hostgator and now I'm trying to set up one more. The problem is that in my second domain url appears the one of the first, just like this:

This would be my first domain (lets call it "domain1"): www.domain1.com

And here is the problem with the second one: www.domain2.domain1.com

Why does the first domain appear in my second one url? I don't want this to happen due to I dont want people to relate one domain with another.

Thanks and greetings

    • Yeah, thats what I did but the problem is that I can acces my second domain with the first one in the url, just like this: domain2.domain1.com Why, I dont want de first one to appear in the second one url?
  • Then I suggest you contact HostGator's customer service (I know in many circles that statement will be taken as a joke) and ask them for help.
  • That is default to all hostgator shared hosting, all addon domains get appended to the primary domain. It is not harmful in anyway.

    • Yeah as I kept reading I discovered that this is something by default on all addon domains, I would like to know if there is anyway to "hide" the domain2.domain1.com from google/people searchs.

      Thanks all for your replies.
  • What are the actual domains? Make sure both nameservers are updated for each domain and then you can just create the add on domain within cPanel if you haven't already done so.
  • I think you are adding the second domain name as a sub domain. Try to add it as an addon domain but first you have to change your domain's nameserver which should be directed to that server.
