Help With Spacious Theme

Hello all,

I am trying to set up a writer portfolio type site. On a writer's forum, I found an old thread that suggested using the Spacious theme. I liked the look of the writer's site, so I decided to use that and adopt some similar elements.

I'm having some trouble setting up the "Business Page" section like this writer has. I've tried contacting him, but haven't heard back and was wondering if I could get some help here.

This is the site that I like:
Trenton Reed | Denver Freelance Writer - Copywriter - Content Writer

About the middle of the page, he has the icons for journalism, marketing, and copywriting. Each of those links only to his sample page.

This is what I want my site to do.

My site is:
Shannon Tani – Freelance Writer and Content Marketer in Rochester, NY

My icons are for copywriting, content marketing, and blogging. I also want them to go to samples, but they are currently set up to go to each individual page. I've also noticed that while Trenton's images are clickable, mine aren't.

In this theme, you set up this part of the page by creating a page using their "business template", then set up separate pages with a featured image (each of those icons). In the setup of the pages, there doesn't seem to be a way to add a link to the image or set the link to go to a different page.

Does anyone know how to change this to make that part look more like the site I like.

(And please note that I'm only in the early stages of putting the site design together and I'm a little embarrassed to upload something that looks so "rough". I know my current image doesn't really match the icon design and will be changing that later....)

    Hi Shannon,

It looks like that website no longer uses the Spacious theme any more. If you scroll to the bottom of that guy's page you'll see 'Zerif Lite powered by Wordpress'. This means that the site is using the Zerif Lite theme. Like you say it was an old post, so the writer has probably moved on....

Taking a quick look, the Zerif theme seems to be freely available at Zerif Lite: #1 Free One Page WordPress Theme and there is a demo at Zerif Lite WordPress Theme Demo which looks pretty much identical to the site you have been inspired by.

Changing the Spacious theme to achieve what you want would probably require some custom development work so it might be worth biting the bullet and switching to the Zerif theme before you go any further?

(By the way I am no way affiliated with the provider of the above theme )

    Oh My Goodness. D'oh.

The new theme is quite similar to the old, so I just didn't notice the difference. I've been fussing with it for about a week.

Thank you so much for pointing it out.
