Which resolution works best for print and web based content if working at Adobe photoshop?

Well I'm kind of rusty at my photoshop skills but I have this little project for which I have to set up the image dimensions and make it look more appealing. The images belong to a science based content and requires modification for print and web based publication.

My first question is that what kind of format is more suitable to send the files to the client for print and web purposes? Is TIFF file more convenient for print purposes or a PDF?

The same goes for the web content. Should I send the file in a Png format or Jpeg?

Also I'm kind of confused regarding the resolution for both of these categories. Should it be twice the lpi for print purposes?

I'll appreciate your help
