Hi,

I am getting a blank page when trying to publish my blog.

I have been using Frontpage 2003 until now and all blogs have been published fine. I am using Semiolgic Pro(SLP) 5.7.1

I have decided to start publishing through Microsoft Expression - I have version 2.

The Wordpress blog loads fine when I set it up through my hosting account using simple scripts. But when I publish the SLP files the website and the admin area go blank.

I have renamed php.sample.ini to php.ini and changed the permissions. Other than that I'm at a loss.

Would it be because I am using an old version of SLP that is causing the probs? I will upgrade but dont want to if it is some other problem.

Thanks for any help/advice.

Peter

    You might have a white space either above the top <php or below the bottom php>

    Check to make sure there isnt any blank spaces.

    Check your error logs (this is under "Error Log" of the cPanel control panel, if you have cpanel) and copy and paste any "500" errors you get from there.

      Thanks for replying.

      Here is what was in the 505 errors log:

      <!-- SHTML Wrapper - 500 Server Error -->
      <!--#exec cgi="/500.php" -->

      I have no idea what this means

    Where did you get that output from? If possible, copy and paste the apache error logs.

    Purely as an example, they look sort of like this:

    [Fri Sep 11 15:41:40 2009] [error] [client 127.127.127.127] ....

    If you can find that, and there's a mention of a server error or 500 error, that may be what's needed to diagnose this problem
